As the national average price of gasoline rises above $3.80 per gallon, Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso is claiming that President Obama is “fully responsible” for the price at the pump due to his administration’s lack of an energy policy.

“With the Keystone pipeline, 20,000 jobs, lots of money coming in to investment, putting people to work, and more energy coming into the United States — and yet not only did 11 Democrats cross the aisle, but the president actually lobbied against the Keystone pipeline, lobbied the Senate against the pipeline to the point that he had to stop Democrats who may have wanted to vote for it,”

Barrasso said alongside Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, at the Capitol Tuesday.“The president has been a complete obstructionist on that, and his energy policy, if you want to even call it a policy, has in my opinion actually contributed if not caused the pain at the pump, and he should be held fully responsible for what the American public is paying for gasoline.”

Good luck getting them Chevy Volts and Nissan Leafs charged up without a dependable electrical grid. This is one more reason Virginia needs to remove the current occupier of the White House and get this reversed. Coal is an essential part of Virginia's economy. This will result in more jobs lost; more people on government dole. Less and more expensive electricity. Another hand in our pocket taking money they don't deserve for no other reason than they think they can.

Mr Cantor, you need to be making arrangements to get this reversed and protect Virginia jobs.

The coal industry and coal-fired power has been dealt a series of body blows by the Obama administration over the last four years. Yesterday, the EPA delivered the coup de grace to coal, in the form of a new rule that – unless overturned by Congress or a future administration – will ensure that no new, modern coal-fired power plants will be built in the United States.

The EPA released Subpart TTTT of New Source Performance Standards yesterday, a proposed rule that limits carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants. No coal-fired power plant can meet the emission limit (1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt of power produced), but natural gas-fired power plants can. This will lead to some significant changes in the power energy once the rule goes final, sometime next year.

It is now estimated that around 50,000 to 80,000 megawatts of coal fired power will be retired from the grid over the next few years. Coal fired power is base load power (that is, power that has to be available all of the time) and neither solar nor wind can provide base load power anywhere but in the President’s green fantasies. Biomass (wood, energy crops, etc.) can provide base load power, but there’s not nearly enough of the fuel to replace so much coal. More nuclear power could easily shoulder the load, but there’s no way that we can permit and build enough nuclear plants in the time available. That leaves natural gas as the only fuel that can possibly be used to replace all of that coal.

It’s a shame that we’re knowingly abandoning such a cheap, reliable and plentiful resource like coal in a foolish effort to fulfill a ridiculous crusade led by eco-puritans. It’s maddening that such a decision was made not by Congress, nor by the voters, but by a few faceless bureaucrats hiding behind global-warming pseudo-science that has become the twenty-first century’s version of alchemy. But that’s where we are and, unless something changes this November, that’s where we’re likely to be for quite a while.

a one-man cottage industry of hundreds of anti-Israel books, articles, recorded interviews and lectures… Over a thirty-five year span Chomsky has repeated every distortion and libel directed against Israel that’s ever appeared in Arab, Western, and left-wing Israeli publications, to which he adds some conspiracy theories of his own devising.

Racist professor Cornel West is a close friend not only of Obama, the most anti-Israel President in history, but also of noted anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan; West is also an avowed admirer of Rev. Wright (see below).

Medea Benjamin and her group Code Pink, who express support for every conceivable extant enemy of the United States from Cuba to North Korea to the Taliban to Hamas, blames the Middle East conflict largely on our “biased policy toward Israel”; meanwhile she praises the savage Hamas for its commitment to “mutual respect and adherence to international law.” That would be the same Hamas whose very charter promises the eradication of Israel.

The Democratic National Committee has released a web ad purporting to show Gov. Mitt Romney in 2008 advocating for an individual mandate at the federal level. This would, of course, be a devastating "smoking gun" proving that Romney had explicitly endorsed and even campaigned on "ObamaCare" before it was an unconstitutional glimmer in Barack Obama's eye.

The problem with the video the DNC has released (and which has been picked up by their reliable minions including Ezra Klein at the Washington Post, Huffington Post, and Talking Points Memo) is that the excerpt from a Jan 5, 2008 New Hampshire debate is selectively edited and does not include an exculpatory moment one minute later where Gov. Romney clearly and unequivocally states he would NOT be in favor of an individual mandate at the federal level.

The DNC's video is misleading and dishonest since it does not include Gov. Romney's clear refusal to call for a national mandate, and the CNN/Acosta video is vague and can be interpreted in various ways.

Is the selectively edited DNC video the blockbuster tape that Begala promised CNN's audience? Or does he have something else hidden away? And, since he is a paid analyst for CNN, shouldn't the network press him on this issue, as it is their public responsibility to seek the truth rather than enable their employees to use their airwaves for political brinkmanship?

A new High Definition clip from the same video appears to make clear that Zimmerman had a gash, or wound of some kind on the back of his head. That would be totally consistent with his version of events on the night in question and opposite the impression ABC News gave its viewers.

Big Journalism called the ABC video-based report reckless and revealing of nothing after it first aired. ABC's presumed ability to enhance and review video before airing only makes their report all the more outrageous. Given analysis by Breitbart Media and the Daily Caller already performed, the ABC video appeared to be inconclusive, at best.

The new High Defintion clip from the police video Breitbart TV is releasing, see below, makes any determination beyond the video being inconclusive is shoddy, if not intentionally unethical, Journalism - if not deceptive and misleading Journalism. To date, ABC has offered no official response to the broad and convincing criticism of the disingenuous nature of their aired report.

The statement might have raised few eyebrows had Obama made it nonchalantly to a U.S. audience. Instead, it kicked up a fuss because Obama thought the microphones were off when he spoke with Dmitry Medvedev in South Korea, and because Obama seemed to take his re-election for granted. Yesterday the Obama administration announced a delaying tactic which will put off the possibility of new offshore oil drilling on the Atlantic coast for at least five years:
The announcement by the Interior Department sets into motion what will be at least a five year environmental survey to determine whether and where oil production might occur.
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell notes that a planned lease sale, which the administration cancelled last year, will now be put off until at least 2018. As you might expect, Republicans were not impressed with the decision:
"The president's actions have closed an entire new area to drilling on his watch and cheats Virginians out of thousands of jobs," said Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., who chairs the House Natural Resources Committee. The announcement "continues the president's election-year political ploy of giving speeches and talking about drilling after having spent the first three years in office blocking, delaying and driving up the cost of producing energy in America," he said.
Finally, given that this is the Obama administration, you won't be surprised to learn that oil and gas exploration is not the only aim of the survey:
In addition to assessing how much oil and natural gas is in the area, seismic testing would help determine the best places for wind turbines and other renewable energy projects, locate sand and gravel for restoring eroding coastal areas, and identify cultural artifacts such as historic sunken ships.
The Post reports that environmentalists are already opposing the survey which, conveniently, won't begin until after the election.

Just to give you an update, Allison Yarrow was the lefty bitch from Code Pink who arrived on the scene at Walter Reed Army Medical Center the night of 21 January 2006 when I took over their corner and put the assclowns in the street.

We of course, answered her with our own phrase "We have permits, Yes we do. We have permits, How bout YOU???"

Apparently, from what I've been reading across the web.....Conservatives ARE STILL NOT GETTING IT!

Unless there is a miracle, Mitt Romney will defeat Rick Santorum in the primaries.

THAT SUCKS. Obama winning the election.... that SUCKS MORE.

But, Mitt Romney is who people are choosing..... for whatever reason. Even Marco Rubio endorses him.

And yet........ I still read that conservatives are going to refuse to vote for Mitt Romney if he's the candidate because he's too progressive/rich/a flip-flopper/just like Obama, (fill in the blank).

Let me give you something to look at that describes Obama better than I can. Here's Bill Whittle.





Does the above describe Mitt Romney? Is a Mitt Romney presidency WORSE than an Obama that does not need to be re-elected? Can you imagine Mitt Romney telling a freaking Soviet Russian Premier President that he's going to help them out on getting rid of OUR defenses....just let him get through his LAST election? If you are not going to vote for Obama's opponent because of principle..... because you believe that there's no difference between the candidates or the parties...... that sitting out this election will teach someone a lesson...... Really? Like a pacifist that refuses to defend himself, yet relies on the efforts of others, those that refuse to fight, that surrender, that take their balls and go home because their team captain wasn't picked.... Go. And if Obama wins, know that you are the reason.

Remember this. Evil triumphs because good people do nothing, not because of actions on evil's part.

In 2009, the Travis County Democratic online newsletter wrote that, “Dietz’s knowledge of court history in Travis County runs deep, and so does his commitment to the Democratic Party.” The Tea Party group is being represented by Hiram Sasser of the Liberty Institute, who promises to appeal. OK boys and girls. Its time to break in a new afternoon drivetime host. I know we're all missing Doc Thompson. He arrived on scene at a point in time when we were just getting fired up with the TEA Party, We Surround Them and Liberty 101. Doc set the bar for conservative radio activism in Richmond and he not only talked the talk, he walked the walk.

But as they say, there is no constant but change, and change has come to the afternoon airwaves. I think Leland will be a fine addition to our Brothers Lee and JimmyB.

These gas prices are Obama’s misery index, and as they rise from an average of $3.90 a gallon to an average of $4.25 (and higher), economic misery will rise with them.

The Obama’s can take vacation after vacation without worrying about the cost because they charge the American people for it. But the American people don’t get to return the favor. Instead, we have cut back on eating out, on shopping, and on myriad other things we enjoy, just so we can pay Obama’s exorbitant gas prices. Hope and change isn’t working out so good.

Susan Jacobson of the Orlando Sentinel reports that an elderly Florida couple has fled their home, after Spike Lee re-tweeted their address, thinking he was sending people to the home of George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

Jacobson reports:A school-cafeteria lunch lady and her husband have received hate mail, unwanted visits from reporters and fearful inquiries from neighbors — all because their Sanford-area address is being disseminated on Twitter as belonging to Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman, her son said late Tuesday.The woman, 70, who has a heart condition, and her husband, 72, have temporarily moved to a hotel to avoid the spotlight and possible danger, said son Chip Humble of Longwood.The woman has another son named William George Zimmerman who lived with her in 1995 and still lives in Central Florida. He is no relation to George Zimmerman, 28, who killed 17-year-old Trayvon Feb. 26, sparking national outrage and international interest.

The elderly couple are the latest victims of an attempt by the organized left--with the blessing of President Barack Obama himself--to exploit the death of Trayvon Martin to inflame political and racial divisions.

At the time, the Marines involved in the raid had not been put on trial. Only one Marine was convicted - on a charge of dereliction of duty.The Navy noted Mr. Murtha’s service as a Marine in Vietnam and his support in the House to fund the armed forces.

Until that point, the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ships had been named for famous explorers or people who made significant contributions to the armed forces. Chavez served briefly in the Navy after World War II. A biographer wrote that he considered it the worst time of his life. Critics said there were better choices if the Navy wanted to honor a Hispanic.
“The one that got the most attention from people who couldn’t really quite figure out whether that was the appropriate thing to do or even related much to the military was the Cesar Chavez and the Jack Murtha,” Mr. Blunt told reporters. “People in the Chavez case could not figure out the linkage.”
Last week, Mr. Mabus named a littoral combat ship after former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona Democrat.

Until the Giffords naming, all Freedom- and Independence-class littoral combat ships had been named after U.S. cities.

Combat Veterans For Congress

Maybe I'm biased towards people who have been tested under fire. Maybe its because I know a lot of veterans. Maybe its just an attitude/philosophy that favors the moral and civic ideals that the uniform represents. Then again, its probably just that I know a few of them personally.

I do know that veterans, especially the current crop of candidates, have the fortitude and conviction of their beliefs that will serve them, and by extension, us, the United States, in the House and the Senate.

From David Bellavia who is running for the newly minted NY-27 in upstate New York, to Pete Hegseth who is seeking the Republican Senate seat in Minnesota, I know in my heart that these men can and will do the job America needs to be done. I know this, because I know them.

I know times are tight. I know we're all struggling to buy gasoline, get to work; hell some of you are still trying to get a job; and I know its a bad time to be asking for anything that will not result in instant gratification. But we need to look long term. You need to know there are people out there from whom we will get a return on the investment.

America needs these men and women again and they have stepped up once again to serve their country. Neither of these men owes us or the country a damn thing. They have both paid their dues and then some. They have both been tested in the best (or worst, depending on your perspective) way possible. In combat, under fire.

Give them a look. Read House to House. Check 'em out. Then send them whatever you can afford.

Meet registered Democrat and self-identified Hispanic American, George Zimmerman

The individual at the center of the controversial Trayvon Martin shooting is a registered Democrat.

George Michael Zimmerman, born Oct. 5, 1983, registered as a Democrat in Seminole County, Fla., in August 2002, according to state voter registration documents.

It is unclear whether he voted for President Barack Obama in 2008. Some in the media have sought to blame Republican politicians and conservative activists for Martin’s death.

“[Republican politicians] reinforce and validate old stereotypes that associate the poor and welfare as criminal behavior with African-Americans and people of color, calling us lazy, undeserving recipients of public assistance. In the case of Trayvon, those festering stereotypes had lethal consequences,” said MSNBC political analyst and Democratic fundraiser Karen Finney.

According to the document, Zimmerman’s race is officially listed as Hispanic. The son of a white father and Peruvian mother, he has been described as a “white Hispanic” in most media reports.

Following the Feb. 26 fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in a Sanford, Fla. gated community, Zimmerman has been the target of widespread outrage.

Zimmerman shot and killed Martin following a physical confrontation, but has yet to be charged with a crime. He says he acted in self-defense, a claim supported by the Sanford, Fla., Police Department investigating the case.

Protesters and activists led by professional racial justice advocates Al Shartpon and Jesse Jackson have suggested Martin’s killing was racially motivated, and have called for Zimmerman’s arrest.

“We want George Zimmerman in court with handcuffs behind his back,” Sharpton said last week.

Martin’s mother, Sabrina Fulton, has alleged that Zimmerman killed her son “because of the color of his skin.”

Craig Sonner, the attorney representing Zimmerman, has denied such allegations, noting that his client has acted as a mentor to a black single mother and her two children, and had helped them raise money for their all-black church.

For Zimmerman’s safety, the Free Beacon has redacted his address from the registration document. The New Black Panther Party has offered a $10,000 bounty for Zimmerman’s capture.

Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling on the Justice Department to investigate so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws following the fatal shooting of an unarmed Florida teen. [...] "These laws seem to be encouraging vigilantism by allowing individuals to use deadly force as a first resort," Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a statement.
Schumer asked Holder's department to probe whether the laws "are creating more violence than they are preventing," and whether potential murders are "going unprosecuted" because of them.
Senator Schumer had no comments about the $10,000 bounty the New Black Panthers have put on the head of George Zimmerman. The racist group hopes to increase the bounty to $1,000,000 through donations, mostly from black entertainers who support the call for vigilante justice.

Presidents can affect gas prices, at least in the long term, by exercising budgetary discipline resulting in a currency that buys more oil per dollar, by approving or rejecting federal oil leases, and by adding or curbing regulations that affect oil exploration and development. In all of these cases, Mr. Obama has supported policies that contribute to higher gas prices.

Discover the Networks did the homework for us and revealed her for the Democratic operative we all knew her to be. However, as soon as I heard his name in a story about Sandra Fluke, I almost choked, due to my sudden epiphany. Why? Because anyone familiar with Boston and New York political history knows about the wealthy Mutterperl family’s long tradition of supporting the traditional Jewish variant of socialism. Bill Mutterperl’s family are much more than Democratic stalwarts.

The Old Democrat Party: FDR Expanded US Domestic Oil Production

The "Drill, baby, drill!" mantra of the 2008 Republican National Convention was cynically answered by Barack Obama supporters at the Democratic Convention with: “You can't drill your way out of the problem.”

To address what President Obama called the worst worldwide crisis in living memory, the President promised hundreds of thousands of new green jobs if America abandoned its reliance on oil and gas, which he contemptuously refers to as the “fuel of the past”.

During President Obama’s term in office he will have escalated the federal debt by $6.4 trillion, 31.6 times the $202.6 billion debt the Franklin Roosevelt Administration issued to deal with the greatest worldwide crisis of all time, defeating Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. But unlike Obama, FDR achieved victory by expanding domestic oil and gas production and delivery.

In spite of the Obama Administration, a rag tag assortment of small “wildcat” oil and gas entrepreneurs have proven that America has over 100 years’ supply of natural gas and over 50 years’ supply of oil. With Obama’s green initiatives in tatters, his new strategy seems to be taking credit for drill, baby, drill achievements, but remains fearful of the political consequences to build the pipelines to pump, baby, pump all that oil and gas to markets.

With war looming, FDR appointed Harold Ickes, former Secretary of the Interior, to select 72 leaders of America's oil industry to serve on the Petroleum Industry War Council. Ickes would later describe in his book, Fightin Oil: “as one of the great coincidences of history”, the first meeting of the PIWC was scheduled for Monday December 8, 1941, the day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Within weeks, the PIWC had mobilized America’s 1,500 oil companies, great and small, to work amicably with the government to win the war. With full involvement of the oil industry, America began massive drilling and quickly developed the technical capabilities to refine huge quantities of gasoline, including the 100-octane grade needed for aircraft.

To get energy supplies from Texas to the East Coast refiners to fuel Atlantic supply convoys, the industry in one year built the two largest diameter pipelines in the history of the world, the Big Inch and the Little Big Inch. During the war, U.S. oil companies delivered 6 billion out of a total of 7 billion barrels of oil consumed by the Allies. The Army-Navy Joint Chiefs of Staff wrote a letter to the PIWC in 1945 stating that “at no time did the Services lack for oil in the proper quantities, in the proper kinds and at the proper places.” Field-Marshall Von Rundstedt, commander of Germany’s Western Front, attributed Germany’s defeat to three factors involving oil: (1) Allied bombing (2) Allied naval bombardments; and (3) Germany's gasoline deficiency.

For three years the Obama Administration energy policy focused on pouring $60 billion into alternative energy; while limiting U.S. drilling off the Atlantic Coast, Florida Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and federal lands in the Rockies. Due to these policies, the average price per gallon of gas just hit an all-time-high for this time of year at $3.84 a gallon.

I may be waxing nostalgic, but in 1972, I was paying $0.36 a gallon for high test gasoline for my '66 Mustang. My grandaddy used to bitch about the price because he paid $0.25 a gallon for his '54 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. In 20 years, the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump only increased $0.11.

In 20 days, the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump has increased twice that.

Where Is the Media On the Robocall Scandal?

Earlier today Toby Harnden with the Daily Mail Tweeted me this update to the massive robocall scandal, perhaps one of the biggest criminal robocall enterprise in election history. My thought was that even the British media is covering this story. The British, not our own.

Only a few news outlets thus far (most notably in Cleveland) have covered the story and the RNC hasn't even registered a response. Writes Mike Flynn:And now it appears the illegal robocalls are back. BigGovernment has learned that voters in at least 5 states received the illegal calls yesterday; California, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. The calls themselves are silly. They try to tie GOP House members to Rush Limbaugh and the media-created 'war on women's health' narrative. What isn't silly, however, is the deliberate violation of federal law by some national political operation. The brazenness of continuing the calls even after media scrutiny does not bode well for the integrity of the Fall elections. If some organization is willing to blatantly violate the law in March, what will they be prepared to do in October? What's perhaps more troubling, however, is the non-reaction from the GOP. Neither the hapless NRCC, whose members are targeted by the phone calls, nor the RNC have pushed back on the illegal calls. Neither have pushed for any kind of investigation or public scrutiny.

Illinois's Pat Brady is the only Republican speaking out:

A top Republican official has accused Democrats of being behind a fresh wave of illegal robocalls made to voters across the country by a shadowy group calling itself 'The Women of the 99 Percent'. Pat Brady, Republican party chairman in Illinois, issued a statement to MailOnline demanding a state investigation into the calls, first reported by MailOnline on March 9th. Voters in five districts in his state received more automated telephone calls yesterday linking Republican members of the House of Representatives to the conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

The automated calls are illegal because they do not state who they are from (there is no known group called The Women of the 99 Percent) or provide a callback number, as required under the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.

'It is typical that a Democrat front group like this thumbs their noses at the same federal campaign finance laws they like to tout in their own campaign literature,' Brady said. He added that it was 'no coincidence' that the districts receiving the calls were all on 'the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) hit list', he demanding an immediate inquiry.

The organized effort is blatantly illegal yet there's been no investigation or even identification of the group responsible. Media will write reams about the Koch Brothers, but who's funding this egregiously expensive operation and why isn't it headline news?

.....the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense circulated a “wanted dead or alive” poster for George Zimmerman for shooting to death a Florida teenager four weeks ago.

Zimmerman, a self-proclaimed neighborhood watch captain said he accosted what he alleges was a suspicious looking black male walking through his neighborhood. He further contends the man punched him, and bloodied his nose, so Zimmerman fired a gun shot striking the man in the chest. The “man” was 17 year old Trayvon Martin, who would lie in the county morgue three days before police alerted his parents of their child’s death.

Minister Mikhail Muhummud led the press conference, calling for the firing of Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, the arrest of George Zimmerman and some involvement from President Obama. Muhummud stated he is the southern regional director for the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense located in Jacksonville, Florida. Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death March 23, 1775 By Patrick Henry

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the house. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The question before the house is one of awful moment to this country.

For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at the truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the numbers of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received?

Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlement assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation.

There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free--if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us! They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength but irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extentuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace--but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Patrick Henry delivered his famous "give me liberty or give me death!" oration in St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia on this day. The famous phrase is in part derived from the play, Cato, A Tragedy, which was well-known to all the founding fathers.

Personal Note:
I used to help out a friend who had a greenhouse and supplied area churches with Easter Lilies. One of my drops was St John's Church. My best friend Billy and I stood in the church one day after delivering the shipment of lilies. The feeling was indescribable. Knowing I was standing in the very spot Patrick Henry stood and told everyone it was time to walk the walk gave me goose bumps. I could almost see the members, hear Mr Henry's voice. If you're ever in Richmond and have the time, I assure you, it's worth your time.

A Washington Post-ABC Poll has found that George W Bush was actually a BETTER President than Dear Leader. I know this will come as quite a shock to some of our readers; it certainly rocked my world.

But as you can clearly see in the graph, more people thought W had contol over gas prices than Dear Leader does.

Oh, and I just now learned that Democrats are hypocrites. I know I know, almost makes you swoon doesn't it?
In 2006, 73 percent of Democrats believed the Bush administration could reduce gas prices. Today, just 33 percent of Democrats believe there is anything President Obama can do about them. That’s a 40 point swing. (To be sure some Republicans have also flip-flopped on this, but only by an 18 point swing.)

Obama: We Don‘t Have Enough Pipeline to Transport All the Oil We’re Producing

Refineries are shutting down because there isn't enough crude being produced to justify keeping them open.

Before a crowd in Cushing, OK, President Obama highlighted (lied about) his energy policy and touted his administration’s “approval” for a section of the Keystone XL pipeline that will connect oil fields in that state with refineries in the Gulf of Mexico, CSPAN reports.

The word “approval” is in quotation marks because, as critics point out, the president plays no role in the construction of the new pipeline. It doesn’t matter if he “approves” or not. Let us explain.

“President Obama claiming credit for speeding up the Keystone pipeline is like Al Gore saying he invented the Internet,” said Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK). “It is claiming credit where credit isn’t due.”

Sullivan explains the president only has the authority to block lines that run internationally. Therefore, because it doesn’t cross international borders, the so-called Cushing pipeline doesn’t require the president’s approval. In fact, as Sullivan notes, President Obama personally lobbied Congress to vote against the pipeline.

Now he’s taking credit?


I can't even begin to explain how this staged performance/campaign event mirrors the tactics used for centuries by despots and dictators. They think that if you keep saying something long enough, everyone will believe it. A truly humble and respectful individual would be embarassed to even appear in public after telling the lies that were told in this single appearence.

The South Carolina Republican and tea party favorite tip-toed around flat out endorsing Romney as a candidate, but did say that the possibility of the former Massachusetts governor as the nominee “excited” him, reports CNN.

“I can tell conservatives from my perspective is that, I’m not only comfortable with Romney, I’m excited about the possibility of him possibly being our nominee,” DeMint said. “Again, this is not a formal endorsement and I do not intend to do that right now but I just think we just need to look at where we are.”

DeMint joins former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who called on the Republican Party to unite behind Romney yesterday.

Census Questionaire Exceeds Consitutional Authority

I received the Census Bereau's normal form, filled out what they were entitled under the Constitution to know and sent it back. A few weeks later, the form being referenced in this report arrived.

After perusing the questions being asked, I decided that this form fell under the heading of TMIFTGTH or TGDNTKAOT.

Too Much Information For The Government To Have OR The Government Doesn't Need To Know Any Of This.

I then fired up the shredder and disposed of the document in an environmentally safe manner and waited for the knock on the door. I'm still waiting.

Part of Obama’s apparent war against U.S. energy independence includes a foreign-aid program that directly threatens my state’s sovereign territory. Obama’s State Department is giving away seven strategic, resource-laden Alaskan islands to the Russians. Yes, to the Putin regime in the Kremlin.

The seven endangered islands in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea include one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabeds surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.

The State Department has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by President Obama or Secretary Clinton.

The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy. The state of Alaska was not allowed to participate in the negotiations, nor was the public given any opportunity for comment. This is despite the fact the Alaska Legislature has passed resolutions of opposition – but the State Department doesn’t seem to care.

The imperiled Arctic Ocean islands include Wrangel, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta. Wrangel became American in 1881 with the landing of the U.S. Revenue Marine ship Thomas Corwin. The landing party included the famed naturalist John Muir. It is 3,000 square miles in size.

Northwest of Wrangel are the DeLong Islands, named for George Washington DeLong, the captain of USS Jeannette. Also in 1881, he discovered and claimed these three islands for the United States. He named them for the voyage co-sponsor, New York City newspaper publisher James Gordon Bennett. The ship’s crew received a hero’s welcome back in Washington, and Congress awarded them gold medals.

In the Bering Sea at the far west end of the Aleutian chain are Copper Island, Sea Lion Rock and Sea Otter Rock. They were ceded to the U.S. in Seward’s 1867 treaty with Russia.

Now is the time for the Obama administration to stand up for U.S. and Alaskan rights and invaluable resources. The State Department’s maritime agreement is a loser – it gives us nothing in return for giving up Alaska’s sovereign territory and invaluable resources. We won the Cold War and should start acting like it.

The Obama administration must stop the giveaway immediately.Author’s addendum, Feb. 17, 2012: This is not a new issue. In fact the Bush and Clinton administrations are directly at fault for the same inaction. A maritime agreement negotiated by the U.S. State Department set the Russian boundary on the other side of the disputed islands, but no treaty has ratified this action.

Consequently, it is within the president’s power to stop this giveaway. The Alaska delegation’s failure to put pressure on the administration is inexplicable. State Department Watch, an organization that assisted with this article, has confronted each administration and is currently confronting the Obama administration — and has been met by silence. I’m hoping this piece will help reinvigorate efforts to stop this handover.

Well, my buds over at FreedomWorks have seen the writing on the wall. I knew at some point they would. After all, they're quite possibly the smartest, most dedicated bunch of young men and women I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Former Texas Congressman Dick Armey is an economist, not a lawyer. He understands the economy better than most.

We here at UCV wanted Hermain Cain. A businessman with a proven track record of success. Not being able to get Cain on the ballot in time was a setback. I know my other editor has the "they all suck, pick one" attitude. But its time to rally behind the strongest candidate. We have to defeat Dear Leader in November.

The fate of America rests on this election. No less than the future for our children and grandchildren is at stake.

CUSHING, Okla. -- The President is scheduled to speak in Payne County this Thursday morning. It may be rural Oklahoma, but when it comes to pipelines, it's the Capitol. The President is expected to talk about energy, though many in that industry are not impressed. They are even planning to protest his visit, calling it a political ploy more than a genuine interest.
Mike Cantrell with the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance says, "For the last three years he's been anti-fossil fuels."Mickey Thompson, an energy industry expert and political analyst, says, "He calls our industry an industry of the past and they'd like us to go away."
The President is expected to mention his support for a pipeline running from Payne County to the gulf; it's the southern end of the “Keystone XL Pipeline.”
Industry experts say while his support for the southern end is welcome, it's not needed.


Oklahoma Shout-Out
A presidential stunt to make the uniformed think he gives a furry rat's butt about the price of gas at the pump. Hope those pipeline workers have their stuff wired tight for the protest. Secret Service will be all over the place.

Yesterday I pointed out that the production of fossil fuels on federal lands is down from fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2009, to September 30, 2010 compared to October 1, 2010, to September 30, 2011).This is significant because the administration is… well, lying. Not long ago, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said, “

The fact of the matter is we are producing more from public lands – both oil and gas, both onshore as well as offshore, than any time in recent memory.”

Not only is Salazar wrong, he’s wrong for every type of fossil fuel produced on federal lands.

Crude oil production? Down from 739 million barrels to 646 million barrels in FY 2011.

Natural gas production? Down from 5,415 Billion cubic feet (Bcf) to 4,859 Billion cubic feet (Bcf) in FY 2011.

Natural gas plant liquids? Down from 115 million barrels to 111 million barrels in FY 2011

Coal production? Down from 478 million short tons to 470 million short tons in FY 2011.

Taken altogether, the total amount of fossil fuel produced from federal land hit 18.6 quadrillion British thermal units (Btu), lower than every year since 2003.

Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, recently asked Bureau of Land Management Director Bob Abbey about the discrepancy between administration claims and the most recent figures from the Energy Information Agency.

Report: NATO Agrees To Let Afghan Government Try Koran-Burning Soldiers

In a development that could chill the dedication of every soldier in the field, the U.S. government has refused to deny reports by the government of Afghanistan that NATO has agreed to have the soldiers who burned copies of the Quran face trial.Last week, Afghan president Hamid Karzai demanded NATO turn over the U.S. troops to be tried in Afghanistan. President Obama subsequently sent a letter to Karzai reassuring him that the troops involved would be punished for their actions.

Part of the three-page letter to Karzai said, “I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies. We will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.”

It is unclear exactly what Obama meant by that statement as the White House has not released the full text of the letter. However, the Afghan government may have provided insight into its contents.

Over the weekend, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan government media and information center website posted a joint statement by the delegations assigned to probe the Quran burning incident.

The statement says that two delegations were created to “investigate the circumstances and causes that have led to the inhumane incident.”The statement listed several items, including a demand that the U.S. turn over the authority of the prison in Bagram to the Afghan government to ensure similar incidents do not recur and “calls on the U.S. government to fully and comprehensively cooperate to this end.”
However, the statement used vastly different language when discussing the fate of the U.S. soldiers involved in the incident.

“NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation’s demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible,” the statement said.The wording suggests members of the military could be handed over to an Afghan system that imposes Shariah-related penalties.

WND requests to both NATO and the Pentagon asking for confirmation of the statement by Afghan authorities were not returned.Although the statements apparently were made by the Afghan government Feb. 25, they have received no mention in the mainstream media.Clare Lopez, a senior fellow with the Center for Security Policy, said if the statement by the Afghan government turns out to be true, it would be an unprecedented betrayal of our men and women in uniform.“ (oh gee, a Marxist betraying American troops, whodathunkit)

I can’t imagine we would ever do this, what would we charge them with? Are we going to try Americans for crimes committed under Shariah law? I cannot believe our government would go that far,” she said.

Robert Spencer, founder of Jihad Watch, said it was fascinating that the U.S. government has not gotten out in front of this issue and denied the statement.“The administration needs to clarify their stance on this. The longer they wait to deny this the more it has the opportunity to further inflame the Muslim in Afghanistan.”
Spencer said that whether the soldiers end up being turned over to the Afghan government or face court-martial, either decision would set a dangerous precedent.“

"It would be unconscionable either way,” he said. “If they turn them over to the Afghan government for trial then we are endorsing the applicability of Shariah law to non-Muslims in the U.S. military. If they court-martial them then they are adopting those norms as part of the UCMJ. Either way it’s frightening.”

Lopez said that while U.S. officials have made large concessions to appease Muslims, turning the soldiers over to face trial would be over the line.“If they were to allow our soldiers to be tried under a legal system that calls for the death penalty for destroying a Quran, that would be unthinkable,” she said. She said that the silence on the part of U.S. officials has the potential to cause real damage to the morale of troops.

“When the government will not come out with a strong denial of this statement by the Afghan government it has the potential to cause our troops to wonder if the U.S. will truly stand behind and protect them when they are simply trying to do their job,” she said. It appears that the soldiers may not have violated Islamic law at all by their burning of the Qurans.

In a PBS interview, Imam Jihad Turk, director of religious affairs at the Islamic Center of Southern California, said it was acceptable to burn the Quran if it was in a state of “disrepair.”


Or being used to pass messages to other terrorists for the purpose of conspiring to murder ISAF troops or escape detention in order to re-join the Taliban to murder ISAF troops.
