Voter ID Laws: Racist or Reasonable?

Voter ID laws are not racist. Only liberals who claim minorities and poor people are too stupid to obtain an ID are racist.

The Virginia Voter ID Law is a sham. It does nothing to ensure the integrity of the voting process and the default setting is voter fraud, because if a person is required to cast a provisional ballot due to not having an ID, that vote is still counted if no one contests it. In Texas, a voter who casts a ballot without an ID is required to return with a valid ID within a certain timeframe, or that vote is thrown out. No ID, no count.

The integrity of the election process must be inviolate. We cannot be left to wonder if the results being reported are accurate, we must know with a relative degree of certainess that the candidate being held up as the winner, is actually the winner. Voter identification, verification of residency, and verification of eligibility are basic requirements which go a long way towards ensuring that degree of certainess and are simply good practices. Liberals will give anyone a ballot. If you're not a legal citizen of this country you cannot vote in this country. That is the rule of law. Voting is a right we earn by virtue of citizenship, whether natural born or naturalized. It is an obligation of citizenship. It is also a privilege that can be rescinded if you are convicted of a felony. That, too, is the rule of law. Liberals are more than willing and capable of suspending the rule of law when it suits their agenda.

Voter ID Laws: Racist or Reasonable?

It was Democrats who were predominantly responsible for the Jim Crow laws against black Americans voting. Democrats have historically exhibited a tendency to go to any lengths to ensure that the results of elections turn out in their favor, as was the case during Jim Crow when they didn’t want black Americans to participate in choosing non-racist leaders.

Republicans often point out the recent example of the community organizing group known as ACORN. As outlined in Matthew Vadum’s Subversion Inc., there have been 55 convictions for voter fraud and voter registration fraud from ACORN’s efforts, which leaned heavily in favor of the Democratic Party.

The media began to focus on the findings from the Harris County [Texas] tax assessor’s office and True the Vote. Shortly after the August 24 press conference announcing the results of the office’s investigation, a fire of unknown origins burned down the warehouse containing all of Harris County’s voting equipment. In total, the fire claimed 10,000 voting machines, which was approximately $30,000,000 worth of equipment. Harris County then spent $750,000 dollars on paper ballots as an emergency measure. Meanwhile, Houston Votes, Texans Together and the Democratic Party of Texas all filed lawsuits against Catherine Engelbrecht’s organization in short order. The lawsuits are still ongoing.

Intimidation through litigation. The preferred method of liberals and extremists to silence the opposition.

Readers who are interested in helping Catherine Engelbrecht and her nonpartisan True the Vote effort to protect America’s elections can visit their site at www.truethevote.org and can attend the group’s 2012 National Summit in Houston, Texas. The summit is on April 27th-28th and includes our nation’s foremost experts on election integrity. The speakers are John Fund, Patt Caddell, Christian Adams, Anita Moncrief, James O’Keefe, Rep. Artur Davis, Hans Von Spakovsky, and Tom Fitton.

Voting While White

Wes Pruden
ANALYSIS/OPINION:

PRUDEN: Shunning the party of whiners
We're not yet a nation wholly of whiners, but some of our congresspersons are working on it. Democrats who should have been taking a victory lap spent a week cowering in fear of the contents of a tea cup. No wonder real men — mostly but, by no means all, white — are shunning the Democrats.

The polling gurus are finding that millions of the white men who helped put Barack Obama in the White House are leaving the Democrats in great numbers, and this could lead to really bad news in November. Gallup finds that white male support for a Democratic Congress has fallen 8 percentage points since last summer, while the support of women has remained remarkably steady. White women who voted for Mr. Obama continue to support him, but only 38 percent of white men support him now. Unless the president and his party find a way to reverse this trend they must prepare for an epic bath nine months hence.

Accomplishing such a turnaround would require first of all for Democrats to pipe down about what a tough life they have. Life is real, often hard, and, as Damon Runyon famously said to a whiner at the poker table, "three out of three people die, so shut up and deal." Democrats in Congress who got their way in the health care "reform" debate are frightened now that the people they abused are angry and determined to do something about it. With the help of the compliant "mainstream" media, they have created the specter of a tsunami of hate, bigotry, racism, slander, rock-throwing, spitting, irritable bowel syndrome and seven-year itch. Sarah Palin has got the Democrats particularly spooked.

Underestimated

H/T FreeRepublic
An Open Letter to the Congress of the United States
The Vote Heard Around the World
January 12, 2010
by Peggy Newbrough

Dear Congress,

I’m sure it was accidental when you declared war on the American people. I’m positive you didn’t intend to turn the citizens of the United States against their own government, to create such an atmosphere of distrust for elected officials that we wake up each day afraid to read the headlines and find out which new “laws” you’ve conspired to pass in the dead of night.

Strong words you say? Webster defines war as: a: a state of hostility, conflict, or antagonism b : a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end.

/snip

But it’s our move now as citizens scramble to get the word out to the public. We’ll use every peaceful means possible to stop this takeover of our beloved country. There are thousands of journalists who weren’t bought off by this corrupt administration who will fight you in print, they’ll call you out and expose your tyranny and Gestapo tactics.

There are millions of citizens who will fight with marches, protests, and with conversations in their homes, offices or churches. They will expose you for every evil action you’ve taken and your unforgivable goal of ruling a once-free nation. And the states will fight back with the 10th amendment, by challenging the constitutionality of this monster with all its backroom deals to buy votes with our own money.

Finally, we’ll fight you at the ballot box and the voter fraud you’ve funded and the illegals you co-opt won’t be enough to save you from the people’s revenge. So make no mistake, we’ll fight your tyranny and we will win because there is a fatal flaw in your battle plan, you’ve underestimated the will of the American people and the spirit of freedom.

You’ve underestimated your enemy.

Dead Voters? Illegal Voters?

EDITORIAL: Letting crooks & illegals vote
Washington Times

It speaks volumes about Democratic unpopularity that they have to look to criminals and illegal aliens to try to shore up their voting base.

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and Rep. Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, have plans to ram through legislation that will produce universal voter registration. No matter what they claim, the rule changes will make it possible for illegal aliens to register to vote and for others to register multiple times.

The proposal is to register everyone on every welfare list, everyone getting unemployment insurance, everyone with a driver's license, everyone who has had run-ins with the legal system, everyone owning any property - basically everyone on every list the government keeps. People will be registered to vote whether or not they want to be registered. If individuals are on any public record, they will be automatically registered.

The legislation is also expected to give felons the right to vote. Why Democrats insist on letting someone who has raped multiple women vote on social policy is beyond us. According to Democrats, robbers who have preyed on helpless victims - and even murderers - have the judgment to tell us how law enforcement should be run in this country.

In May 2005, Public Opinion Strategies surveyed felons who had their voting rights restored and nonfelons who voted in Washington state. Even after accounting for the voters' race, gender, education level, religious habits, employment, age and county of residence, the book Freedomnomics found that "felons were 36 percent more likely than nonfelons with the same characteristics to have voted for [John] Kerry [a Democrat] over [George W.] Bush [a Republican] and 37 percent more likely to be registered Democratic."

Desperate Hyperbole From A Loser

Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery

Dingy Harry has reached what has to be the low point of his questionable political career. He threw the race card and the suffrage card in one press conference and did it with a straight face. He forgot, as all dhimmicrats do when it's convenient, that it was dhimmicrats who blocked the Civil Rights Act and the Woman's Suffrage movement, and if it weren't for the Republicans, we'd still have seperate lunch counters and back entrances for colored folks to use. Most members of the KKK were dhimmicrat. Bull Conner was a dhimmicrat. So was Lestor Maddox and George Wallace. They all fought the Civil Rights Movement, using dogs, fire hoses, ropes and trees as neccessary. Brave people died fighting to give everyone the right to have a say in the afffairs of government, and it was dhimmicrats who did the killing.

This is just one more example of the desperation the dhimmicrats are facing and the depths of twisted history they will lower themselves to, in order to get control of your life.

Lenin, Stalin, and Krusechev are giggling with wicked delight and satan is scampering around the halls of Congress.

Democrats and Veterans

From GOPUSA by Scott Swett

Scott Swett is the primary author of a new book on the 2004 presidential campaign, To Set The Record Straight: How Swift Boat Veterans, POWs and the New Media Defeated John Kerry. He is also the primary webmaster of SwiftVets.com and WinterSoldier.com.

The Democrats recently announced the theme for the day that Sen. Barack Obama's running mate will speak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver -- "national security and honoring veterans." This may well provide a hint about who the vice-presidential selection will be, as it seems unlikely that such a theme would be used to frame a nominee who, like Sen. Obama, has no military experience.
Before speculating about the most likely candidate, let's take a few moments to review ways in which the Democratic Party has gone about "honoring" the US military in the past.

In November of 2000, during the statewide vote recount in Florida, Al Gore and the Democrats sent lawyers to every voting district in the state, armed with detailed instructions on how to disqualify military absentee ballots. Peggy Noonan reported that "...Democrats on the ground, and their operators from the Democratic National Committee and the state organization and the Gore campaign, deliberately and systematically scrutinized for challenge every military absentee ballot, and knocked out as many as they could on whatever technicality they could find or even invent."

Early in 2004, evidence emerged that a small group of Army prison guards had humiliated and abused captive insurgents at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The abuses were discovered by the Army itself, and those responsible were duly tried, convicted and sentenced. Nevertheless, leftists eager to discredit the US military seized upon these trivial events as though they constituted the most important story of the war. Sen. Edward Kennedy rose in the Senate to charge that "Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management -- US management." By June, the New York Times had featured Abu Ghraib stories on its front page more than 50 times, including a string of 28 days in a row. The purpose was evident -- to undermine support for the military and its mission by persuading the public that American troops were brutal abusers.

Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore was a welcome guest at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, where he sat in former President Jimmy Carter's box seat. Yet Moore had openly embraced those who ambushed and killed US troops, saying that "the Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'the enemy.' They are the revolution, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win." Ohio Democratic Representative Marcy Kaptur echoed this view, suggesting that "...Osama bin Laden and these non-nation-state fighters with religious purpose are very similar to those kinds of atypical revolutionaries that helped to cast off the British crown." This is a particularly novel way to support our troops -- by comparing their enemies to the patriots who fought for American independence.

In 2005, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin compared the treatment of terrorist suspects held at Guantanamo, Cuba to the crimes committed "by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings." In fact, no prisoners had died at Guantanamo, whereas some fifteen to thirty million Soviets expired in the gulags, six million Jews were killed in Nazi concentration camps, and two million Cambodians were murdered by Pol Pot's communist Khmer Rouge. A Pentagon spokesman noted that all members of Congress were welcome to inspect the Guantanamo facilities -- something Sen. Durbin had never done. Public outrage eventually prompted Durbin to offer a qualified apology "...if anything I said cast a negative light on our fine men and women in the military."

In 2006, Democratic Congressman John Murtha falsely claimed that US Marines who had battled in Haditha, Iraq had "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Marine Corps officials pointed out that Murtha had not yet been briefed on the event at the time he made his atrocity allegations. Charges against nearly all participants in the Haditha engagement have since been dismissed. The Marine staff sergeant who led the squad recently filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Murtha that has yet to come to trial.

Later the same year, New York Democrat Charles Rangel explained why young Americans join the military -- they aren't capable of doing anything else. Congressman Rangel said, incorrectly, that most members of the military "come from very, very high areas of unemployment" and denied that they "want to fight." Rangel further displayed his deep respect for US troops by adding that if a young man "...has an option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq."

Sen. Tom Harkin recently suggested that Sen. John McCain's military background is a liability rather than an asset. "Everything is looked at from his life experiences, from always having been in the military," said Harkin, "and I think that can be pretty dangerous."

Presidential nominee Obama also took a few moments last year to honor the US military for its ongoing campaign in Afghanistan, by suggesting that it consisted primarily of "air-raiding villages and killing civilians...."

Who then is the Democrat best qualified to continue this tradition as Barack Obama's running mate? The choice is obvious: former nominee John Kerry. Kerry started his political career in 1971 by falsely accusing American troops of committing genocide in Vietnam. He accused his own Navy comrades of war crimes.

His Vietnam Veterans Against the War created the dysfunctional caricature of Vietnam veterans that Hollywood and the media embraced for three decades.
Perhaps more than anyone else, John Kerry is responsible for the way our Vietnam veterans were treated -- with contempt and pity, rather than respect.

After his unsuccessful attempt to market himself as a war hero in 2004, Kerry soon reverted to form, claiming that US troops were "going into homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children..." Kerry's own effort to compete in the 2008 cycle was derailed by his revealing suggestion to a college audience that "if you study hard and you do your homework... you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
So fire up the sound system. Launch the balloons. And let the honoring of America's veterans begin.
