Veterans Group Halts Donations After City Parks Commissioner Refuses To Stand For The Pledge of Allegiance… | Weasel Zippers

ASSCLOWNS EVERYWHERE!!!!! Good on American Legion Post 134.

Via Chicago Tribune:
A north suburban parks official says he’s standing up for the U.S. Constitution by sitting down during the Pledge of Allegiance.

But Morton Grove Park District Commissioner Dan Ashta’s symbolic actions have spurred an ideological tug of war with a local veterans group, which recently halted cash donations to the Park District until its entire board stands for the pledge at park board meetings.

“Every veteran has taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and has been willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for all of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans,” said Joseph Lampert, 47, commander of American Legion Post 134. “Nowhere did we say that he has to recite the pledge or put his hand over his heart. We would just like to see him stand out of respect.”

Ashta, an attorney who focuses on constitutional law, said he, too, is defending the Constitution with his refusal to stand during the pledge.

“We have an item on the agenda that says ‘Pledge of Allegiance,’” Ashta said. “The only choice you have is to utter a statement. … You don’t have a choice to remain silent.”
Standing, but not saying the pledge, is still an act of speech, Ashta said. And by having the pledge on the agenda, the park board is potentially infringing upon the freedom of speech guaranteed by the Constitution, he asserted.

After discussing the issue for several months, Post 134 members agreed to withdraw all financial and volunteer support for park programs “until such time that everybody stands for the pledge,” Lampert said.

Beirut barracks blown up — This Day in History — 10/23/1983

Beirut barracks blown up — This Day in History — 10/23/1983
A suicide bomber drives a truck packed with explosives into the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 241 U.S. military personnel. That same morning, 58 French soldiers were killed in their barracks two miles away in a separate suicide terrorist attack. The U.S. Marines were part of a multinational force sent to Lebanon in August 1982 to oversee the Palestinian withdrawal from Lebanon. From its inception, the mission was plagued with problems--and a mounting body count.

In 1975, a bloody civil war erupted in Lebanon, with Palestinian and leftist Muslim guerrillas battling militias of the Christian Phalange Party, the Maronite Christian community, and other groups. During the next few years, Syrian, Israeli, and United Nations interventions failed to resolve the factional fighting, and on August 20, 1982, a multinational force including 800 U.S. Marines was ordered to Beirut to help coordinate the Palestinian withdrawal.

The Marines left Lebanese territory on September 10 but returned in strengthened numbers on September 29, following the massacre of Palestinian refugees by a Christian militia. The next day, the first U.S. Marine to die during the mission was killed while defusing a bomb. Other Marines fell prey to snipers. On April 18, 1983, a suicide bomber driving a van devastated the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people, including 17 Americans. Then, on October 23, a Lebanese terrorist plowed his bomb-laden truck through three guard posts, a barbed-wire fence, and into the lobby of the Marines Corps headquarters in Beirut, where he detonated a massive bomb, killing 241 marine, navy, and army personnel. The bomb, which was made of a sophisticated explosive enhanced by gas, had an explosive power equivalent to 18,000 pounds of dynamite. The identities of the embassy and barracks bombers were not determined, but they were suspected to be Shiite terrorists associated with Iran.

After the barracks bombing, many questioned whether President Ronald Reagan had a solid policy aim in Lebanon. Serious questions also arose over the quality of security in the American sector of war-torn Beirut. The U.S. peacekeeping force occupied an exposed area near the airport, but for political reasons the marine commander had not been allowed to maintain a completely secure perimeter before the attack. In a national address on October 23, President Reagan vowed to keep the marines in Lebanon, but just four months later he announced the end of the American role in the peacekeeping force. On February 26, 1984, the main force of marines left Lebanon, leaving just a small contingent to guard the U.S. embassy in Beirut.

Before She Can Lead, She MUST Be Held Accountable

A History Lesson For Those Born After 1990

You may not be aware of the Clinton Butcher's Bill so here it is.

With Hillary Clinton considering a run for President in 2016, these items are important to remember.
We all recall the many Clinton scandals. But when anyone mentions a particular one, we realize that they are far too numerous to recount.
Here is the list.  Maybe you had forgotten how long it is.
This is a quick refresher course, lest we forget what happened over the years to so many "friends and associates" of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Considering that the only ones who benefited from all these deaths were Bill and Hillary Clinton, it begs the question, "Could these be just simple coincidences"?

1- James McDougal - Convicted Whitewater partner of the Clintons who died of an apparent heart attack while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.

2 - Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern who was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown (Washington, DC). The murder happened just days before she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment by Bill Clinton in the White House.

3 - Vince Foster - Former White House Counselor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law Firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide. (He was about to testify against Hillary related to the records she refused to turn over to Congress.) Was reported to have been having an affair with Hillary. His body was found at Ft Marcy Park in an odd location, positioned on his back with arms at his side as if "at attention". A pistol was still in his hand with his finger on the trigger (if he shot himself, that hardly seems possible). Although quite a distance from his parked car, with dirt, grass, and other ground cover between body and parking lot, his shoes were spotless and his business suit covered with carpet fibers. Many believe he was killed elsewhere , wrapped in a carpet, and placed in the park. After all, that's what the evidence clearly shows.

4 - Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. His testimony would have been harmful to Bill Clinton. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the Air Traffic controller on duty that day supposedly committed suicide, although witnesses saw someone go to his front door carrying a long, concealed object.

5 - C. Victor Raiser, II - Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund- raising organization, died in a private plane crash in July 1992.

6 - Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director, found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock in September 1992. Described by Clinton as a dear friend and trusted advisor.

7 - Ed Willey - Clinton fundraiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Both of them were involved in several Clinton fund-raising events.

8 - Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock .. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Parks' son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files mysteriously disappeared from his house.

9 - James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited Prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.

10 - James Wilson - found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to the Clintons' Whitewater deals.

11 - Kathy Ferguson - Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones Lawsuit, and Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

12 - Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancée of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound, which was also ruled a suicide, at the grave site of his fiancee.

13 - Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassiter, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client, Dan Lassiter, was a convicted drug distributor and Clinton fundraiser.

14 - Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal, Mena, Arkansas Airport drug smuggling operation. He died of three gunshot wounds.

15 - Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death. It's important to note that the coroner who continually ruled these deaths as suicides was appointed by Clinton.

16 - Paula Grober - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death on December 9,1992. She died in a one-car accident.

17 - Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter who was investigating the Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority scandals. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation (same coroner).

18 - Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993, in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death (may have been poisoned).

19 - Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15,1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.

20 - Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

21 - Charles Meissner - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.

22 - Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee, died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council, personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and Brother.

23 - Barry Seal - Drug running TWA pilot out of Mena, Arkansas. His death was no accident.

24 - Johnny Lawhorn, Jr. - mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.

25 - Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was ruled a suicide yet the final report was never released.

26 - Hershel Friday - Attorney and Clinton fundraiser, died March 1, 1994, when his plane exploded.

27 - Kevin Ives & Don Henry - known as "the boys on the tracks" case. Reports say the two boys may have witnessed a large drug shipment drop in the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. The initial report said their deaths were due to falling asleep on railroad tracks and being run over by a train. Later autopsy reports stated that the boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

28 - Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, 7/88.

29 - Keith McMaskle - Died, stabbed 113 times, Nov 1988.

30 - Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.

31 - Jeff Rhodes - was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989. (The same Coroner ruled the death a suicide)

32 - James Milan - Found decapitated. However, the same Coroner ruled his death was due to natural causes.

33 - Jordan Kettleson - was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June, 1990.

34 - Richard Winters - A suspect in the Ives/Henry deaths. He was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

36 - Major William S. Barkley, Jr.

37 - Captain Scott J. Reynolds

38 - Sgt. Brian Hanley

39 - Sgt. Tim Sabel

40 - Major General William Robertson

41 - Col. William Densberger

42 - Col. Robert Kelly

43 - Spec. Gary Rhodes

44 - Steve Willis

45 - Robert Williams

46 - Conway LeBleu

47 - Todd McKeehan

Could all these deaths be coincidence? One person, Bill Clinton, benefited by the deaths of all these people.

Pass this on. Let the public know what happens to associates of the Clintons!
And this list does not include the four dead Americans in Benghazi that Hillary abandoned!  (Does that make it 51?)

But “What difference does it make?”

Clinton returns to politics? You mean she left?

Hillary Clinton made her first campaign appearance in nearly five years on Saturday to support Terry McAuliffe, her old friend

Really Virginia......this is what you want?

And here's a laugh....this coming from her:
“Recently in Washington, unfortunately, we have seen examples of the wrong kind of leadership, when politicians choose scorched earth instead of common ground,” Clinton said at another point, bemoaning “when they operate in what I call the ‘evidence-free zone,’ with ideology trumping everything else.”

 She should know.
Isn't that the Clinton style?

Advance Editorial From Our Forthcoming 10/21-10/28 Issue

Oct 21, 2013, Vol. 19, No. 07 • By JONATHAN V. LAST
We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around.”
—Ronald Reagan
The conduct of the National Park Service over the last week might be the biggest scandal of the Obama administration. This is an expansive claim, of course. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS, the NSA, the HHS mandate—this is an administration that has not lacked for appalling abuses of power. And we still have three years to go.
Even so, consider the actions of the National Park Service since the government shutdown began. People first noticed what the NPS was up to when the World War II Memorial on the National Mall was “closed.” Just to be clear, the memorial is an open plaza. There is nothing to operate. Sometimes there might be a ranger standing around. But he’s not collecting tickets or opening gates. Putting up barricades and posting guards to “close” the World War II Memorial takes more resources and manpower than “keeping it open.”
The closure of the World War II Memorial was just the start of the Park Service’s partisan assault on the citizenry. There’s a cute little historic site just outside of the capital in McLean, Virginia, called the Claude Moore Colonial Farm. They do historical reenactments, and once upon a time the National Park Service helped run the place. But in 1980, the NPS cut the farm out of its budget. A group of private citizens set up an endowment to take care of the farm’s expenses. Ever since, the site has operated independently through a combination of private donations and volunteer workers.
The Park Service told Claude Moore Colonial Farm to shut down.
The farm’s administrators appealed this directive—they explained that the Park Service doesn’t actually do anything for the historic site. The folks at the NPS were unmoved. And so, last week, the National Park Service found the scratch to send officers to the park to forcibly remove both volunteer workers and visitors.
Think about that for a minute. The Park Service, which is supposed to serve the public by administering parks, is now in the business of forcing parks they don’t administer to close. As Homer Simpson famously asked, did we lose a war?
We’re not done yet. The parking lot at Mount Vernon was closed by the NPS, too, even though the Park Service does not own Mount Vernon; it just controls access to the parking lots from the George Washington Parkway. At the Vietnam Memorial—which is just a wall you walk past—the NPS called in police to block access. But the pièce de résistance occurred in South Dakota. The Park Service wasn’t content just to close Mount Rushmore. No, they went the extra mile and put out orange cones to block the little scenic overlook areas on the roads near Mount Rushmore. You know, just to make sure no taxpayers could catch a glimpse of it.
It’s one thing for politicians to play shutdown theater. It’s another thing entirely for a civil bureaucracy entrusted with the privilege of caring for our national heritage to wage war against the citizenry on behalf of a political party.
This is how deep the politicization of Barack Obama’s administration goes. The Park Service falls under the Department of the Interior, and its director is a political appointee. Historically, the directorship has been nonpartisan and the service has functioned as a civil, not a political, unit. Before the current director, Jonathan Jarvis, was nominated by President Obama, he’d spent 30 years as a civil servant. But he has taken to his political duties with all the fervor of a third-tier hack from the DNC, marrying the disinterested contempt of a meter maid with the zeal of an ambitious party apparatchik.
It’s worth recalling that the Park Service has always been deeply ambivalent about the public which they’re charged with serving. In a 2005 Weekly Standard piece about the NPS’s plan to reconfigure the National Mall, Andrew Ferguson reported:
The Park Service’s ultimate desire was made public, indiscreetly, by John Parsons, associate regional park director for the mall. In 2000 Parsons told the Washington Post he hoped that eventually all unauthorized traffic, whether by foot or private car, would be moved off the mall. Visitors could park in distant satellite lots and be bused to nodal points, where they would be watered and fed, allowed to tour a monument, and then reboard a bus and head for another monument. “Just like at Disneyland,” Parsons told the Post. “Nobody drives through Disneyland. They’re not allowed. And we’ve got the better theme park.
Yes, yes. They must protect America’s treasures from the ugly Americans. No surprise then that one park ranger explained to the Washington Times last week, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can.”
“To make life as difficult for people as we can”—that would be an apt motto for the Obama worldview. And now even the misanthropes at the National Park Service have been yoked to his project. This is the clearest example yet of how the president understands the relationship between his government and the citizenry.
