Fascism - the Face of Obama

A NEW ORDER HAS ARISEN!

The Dear Leader has just fired and replaced the head of a major corporation. And now we are hearing that GM may have to declare bankruptcy ANYWAY? Why doesn't Obama and co. get blamed for wasting billions of dollars on a failing corporation instead former CEO Wagoner. The administration was told repeatedly that GM would probably have declare bankruptcy months ago. But Obama and the democrats would not listen. THEY are the ones that are bankrupting the country.

That same Dear Leader has demanded that a major corporation be given to a foreign corporation for free. Chrysler was given 30 day to finalize any deal with Fiat or face the loss of billions in government aid. Fiat will assume a 35% (possibly raising to 55%) stake in the company, debt free. Why Fiat? Simple. Small cars. Supposedly Fiat will share technology with Chrysler enabling Chrysler to market fuel efficient cars. You know, similar to all those Fiats that you see Americans driving today.....Say goodbye to the Ferrari, Maserati, and the Alfa Romeo.......Can you see anyone buying a Chrysler Maserati?
How much of the bail out will be going to Fiat? Supposedly, Chrysler is to pay back the $6,000,000,000 that it will get as a result of this deal prior to Fiat assuming control of the company. (Fat chance.)

“Almost 95% of banks in this country remain well-capitalized. Since that time, many banks have been contacted by regulators, and urged, sometimes forcefully, to participate in the [Capital Purchase Program].”
If this is the case, that means that almost ALL banks will receive a portion of the TARP money, whether they want it or not. So, that means that Congress will control the wages of the executives of these companies also. Yet again, because of greed of Congress, Americans lose. Because Congress set taxes so high, yet allowed bonuses to be taxed at a lower rate, many executives take a low yearly salary and get paid year end bonuses as compensation. Not for performance, but, as a portion of their salary. Now, Congress wants to take this away from them.

Now that the financial institutions have taxpayer's money, certain Congressmen think that these employees should be paid like government bureaucrats. Of course, no Congressman ever gets rich from the taxpayer's money.....

Jon Jacobs:

Taxpayer are now like shareholders of your company. Indeed they are. Therefore it's no surprise to see taxpayers' elected representatives demand "their" management show accountability for major expenditures past and present.

Except that we are truly shareholders in our government, and THOSE employees refuse to be held accountable.

These officials evidently feel banks, once brought under the public umbrella, should be run not like businesses but like public agencies, where salaries are set by published charts rather than managers' discretion - and where bonuses don't exist. A great many voters seem to share that view. It all sounds fair - even logical. Until, that is, you stop to ponder what's the exit strategy. If every banker's pay is effectively subject to congressional review, who will want to work for banks?

I hope these people get good jobs in foreign firms.

Congress is blind. The conceited bastards running the circus evidently believe that being the head clown in the circus enables one to run the business end of it, too......

Please look at the above links and information with open eyes. Search the web for more info. And then come back and show me where I am wrong in believing that Obama and the Democrats in Congress are not, at the very least socialist, if not fascist.

They Will Succeed If You Don't Do Something

The extreme-left is desperately trying to take over every aspect of your life. In case you haven't noticed, they're taking control of the banking industry, they're trying to take control of your family's healthcare, they're taking control of the auto industry and the energy industry...

But, most horrifically, THEY'RE TRYING TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOU. And, make no mistake; the so-called $3.6 TRILLION BUDGET ABOMINATION IS THEIR MEANS TO DO IT. Some critics, to borrow a phrase from the good folks at FreedomWorks, are saying that this $ 3.6 trillion budget abomination "taxes too much, spends too much, and borrows too much." But the simple fact that $3.6 trillion is a mind-boggling figure is just one small piece of the puzzle.

The one thing that no one is really taking about (the 800 pound gorilla in the room) is that this $3.6 trillion budget abomination is ALSO the LARGEST AND MOST AMBITIOUS GOVERNMENT POWER GRAB IN THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY. And if it passes, you can start to kiss the free-market system goodbye. If it passes, you can kiss your personal liberties goodbye.

Here are just a handful of the highlights:
Health Care: According to the typically pro-Obama New York Times: "Mr. Obama asked Congress to set aside $634 billion in a 'reserve fund for health care reform.' He provided no new information about how to cover the uninsured, saying he would work out the details with Congress later this year." The Times also stated that Obama "would also increase premiums charged to Medicare beneficiaries...." No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Obama is asking Congress for $634 billion dollars of your money, is offering no clear plan as to what he wants to do with the money (he'll get to that later, after the money is appropriated) and wants to cut back on benefits. The only thing that is certain is the government will start taking money out of your pocket and start making your healthcare decisions for you.

Taxes: Moveon.org, while promoting the $3.6 trillion budget abomination, repeats the Obama mantra that it: "Reduces taxes for 95% of working Americans. And if your family makes less than $250,000, your taxes won't go up one dime."

The truth of the matter, however, is that this $3.6 trillion budget calls for a number of hidden taxes. One of these is a cap-and-trade energy tax which, according to The Wall Street Journal "would cost the average household in the bottom-income quintile about 3.3 percent of its after-tax income every year. That's about $680, not including the costs of reduced employment and output. The three middle quintiles would see their paychecks cut between $880 and $1,500, or 2.9 percent to 2.7 percent of income."

The Wall Street Journal concludes: "Cap and trade, in other words, is a scheme to redistribute income and wealth--but in a very curious way. It takes from the working class and gives to the affluent; takes from Miami, Ohio, and gives to Miami, Florida; and takes from an industrial America that is already struggling and gives to rich Silicon Valley and Wall Street 'green tech' investors who know how to leverage the political class."

Jobs: MoveOn.org claims the budget "Invests more than $100 billion in clean energy technology, creating millions of green jobs that can never be outsourced." The folks at FreedomWorks have this to say: "The numbers being used here, like the numbers used in the stimulus debate, are deceptive in that they hide the less rosy bigger picture. It is a classic case of 'what is seen and what is not seen' as described so clearly by economists Frederic Bastiat and Henry Hazlitt. What is seen are the jobs that will certainly result from the government spending $100 billion. What is not seen are all the jobs that are lost because the government has to take those $100 billion out of one part of the economy to spend it somewhere else."

You're starting to get the picture. This $3.6 trillion budget has nothing to do with stimulating the economy, or making life better for the average Joe; unless, of course, you believe that the redistribution of YOUR income and government intrusion into YOUR life are good things. Perhaps that's why Senator Judd Gregg called Obama's $3.6 trillion budget "an extraordinary move of our government to the left." Gregg added that President Obama "is proposing the largest tax increase in history..."

Tell the Republican and Democratic Leadership of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. in unmistakable terms that the American people want this $3.6 trillion abomination of a budget bill DEAD... a stake driven through its heart. Tell them that the American people do not want "compromises" or insignificant amounts of fat trimmed from this monster. Tell the Republican and Democratic Leadership of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. that OBAMA'S BUDGET MUST DIE!

Promote the General Welfare

The dhimmicrats and the chosen one, (may be paeace be upon him), are deliberately sabotaging the efforts of middle class Americans to achieve the American Dream. Economic independence is the cornerstone of success. It's what makes this country different from all others. We are in the unique position of having the freedom to make our own decisions about how to best achieve economic independence.

It is the duty and responsibility of the government to provide and maintain an environment conducive to the average citizen's efforts towards that goal. Thats what "promote the general welfare" means.

Any action which impedes or inhibits the ability of the average citizen to achieve economic independence is un-Constitutional and anyone who votes for such action is in violation of their oath of office and should be impeached and removed from office.

Losing Touch With Reality

The current "demonstrations against racism and oppression" being held on the left and right coasts simply brings to light how quickly an otherwise intelligent well-educated individual can break the fragile bonds of reality and descend with purpose to the depths of absurdity.

I am speaking of the protests in Oakland Calif, and Powhatan, VA against "racial injustice".

On the left coast we have people gathering to celebrate as a hero, a man so vile and evil that he chose to rape a 12 year old girl. Thats right. I said "He CHOSE to rape a 12 year old child."
He also CHOSE to run from police. He CHOSE to shoot the first two during a traffic stop, and he CHOSE to shoot the other two while they were trying to apprehend him. At every turn, this despicable excuse for a man and a waste of oxygen had the opportunity to CHOOSE his actions.
No one forced him to rape that litlle girl. He made a conscience decision to commit an evil act.
I wonder how the good people of his neighborhood would feel if he had been apprehended without incident, gone to trial and been convicted for child rape? Would the police be an "occupying force" then?

Now to Powhatan. Depsite the senseless stupidity of the actions of the Parrish boys, I don't think the intent was to murder anyone. I believe the jury reviewed the evidence and came to the same conclusion. There was no intent to harm, no pre-meditation. It was country boys being stupid. Now they will pay for that moment of senseless stupidity with 11 years of their lives. They will never be the same.
Is that justice?
I think it is, but then again, I'm a realist and a cynic.

HR 1388 The Obama Youth Brigade

Obama Youth Brigade: Church Attendance Forbidden
By Jonas Clark

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
(a) Prohibited Activities-A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation. (No calling your congressman to tell him/her to vote yes or no)

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. (No grassroots organizing, no parades, no protests, no Grassfire.)

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.
(So if you're Muslim, you can forget about praying 5 times a day)

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two mos. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor.

Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill's title is called Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education (GIVE). It forms what some are calling Obama's Youth Brigade. Obama's plan is to require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

So when you accept government funds for your education, you surrender every right gauranteed under the Bill of Rights.

Yeah, I'm down with that.

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Report details FBI findings about criminals and their weapons

"We're not working with no marksmanship... We just putting it in your direction, you know... It don't matter... as long as it's gonna hit you…if it's up at your head or your chest, down at your legs, whatever... Once I squeeze and you fall, then... if I want to execute you, then I could go from there." from Stoppingpower.net

This was posted at Xavier Thoughts. The link brings you to a very chilling and informative document: New Findings from the FBI about Cop Attackers and their weapons

Here is a portion that is relevant to Virginia, specifically (emphasis mine):

Weapon Choice

Predominately handguns were used in the assaults on officers and all but one were obtained illegally, usually in street transactions or in thefts. In contrast to media myth, none of the firearms in the study was obtained from gun shows. What was available "was the overriding factor in weapon choice," the report says. Only 1 offender hand-picked a particular gun "because he felt it would do the most damage to a human being."

Researcher Davis, in a presentation and discussion for the International Assn. of Chiefs of Police, noted that none of the attackers interviewed was "hindered by any law--federal, state or local--that has ever been established to prevent gun ownership. They just laughed at gun laws."

Tell me again how background checks and gun laws stop this? Mexico has gun control that the Brady Campaign can only dream about...at least right now. And everyone that wants a gun, especially to commit crimes, has a gun.

Another chilling description: Nearly 40% of the offenders had some type of formal firearms training, primarily from the military. More than 80% "regularly practiced with handguns, averaging 23 practice sessions a year," the study reports, usually in informal settings like trash dumps, rural woods, back yards and "street corners in known drug-trafficking areas."

If you are going to own a weapon, practice, practice practice! Especially if you are going to carry it!

Don't honor EX-Marine disgrace John Murtha!

Outgoing Secretary of the Navy, Donald Winter, has disgraced the Navy. He has awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award to that POS Murtha.

Citing Murtha's "courageous leadership, vision, and loyalty to the men and women of the Department of the Navy," Winter presented the influential chairman of the House Appropriations Committee's defense panel with the Navy's Distinguished Public Service Award,......

Hmmmm, wonder why the porkmeister was given the award......it wouldn't have anything to do with his position to influence the Navy budget during possible cuts, would it?

Murtha has never recanted his vile accusations and comments about the Haditha Marines. He is a coward, a liar, and a fraud. He deserves to be publicly humiliated by any and all serving or retired military. Its a shame that the USMC can't disavow this treasonous POS.

We endorse the Don't Honor John Murtha Petition to Secretary of the Navy.

Click the link to read and sign it. Join the other 37,000+ citizens to ask the Navy to rescind that award.

Americans Beware!!!

The New Intolerable Acts of the Obama Regime
by Edward Cline (March 9, 2009)

Whether or not the recent, numerous “tea parties” held across the country in protest against Obama’s and Congress’s plan to guile Americans into accepting slavery or servitude will have any lasting consequence or effect on Washington, remains to be seen. Whether or not the stock market continues to refuse to “rally” in response to Obama’s economic agenda, also remains to be seen. But the fact that they have occurred is evidence there are countless Americans who regard recent and proposed legislation as intolerable.

At the moment, it is hard to gauge if they possess the moral stamina required to consistently confront the behemoth of federal power. They will need intellectual guidance as well as courage.
They will need ideas to let them know they are right. They will need the philosophy of Ayn Rand.

It is not enough for Americans to merely sense that the only moral and practical “stimulus” to economic recovery is freedom. They must know it. Only philosophy can give them that certitude.

And it is hard to judge if Obama, Congress and the collectivists will have the malice and vengeful bottom to call for their own Coercive Acts in answer to such resistance. Having come so close to conquering America, they may be tempted to try it. Just as the Crown, long before the Stamp Act was even enacted, was contemplating turning the American colonies into one huge camp of indentured servants, the “progressives” in this country have for decades plotted and drooled over the chance to achieve the same end.

Americans, beware! Obama, Congress and the collectivists are not the rattlesnakes that appeared on American militia flags, but together one stalking monitor lizard that bites its prey, poisons it with the venom of altruism, and waits for it to die of it before feeding on the carcass.

Long live Lady Liberty!

Obama IS a Socialist

Obama The Fascist: Leading Us Down the Road to Serfdom
by Edward Cline
(March 20, 2009)
[CapMag.com]

20 March 2009
The Wall Street Journal
New York, NY Editor:

Alan Blinder needs an education in collectivism in politics. He denies that President Barack Obama is a “socialist.” His allegation can be rebutted on several levels ("Obama Is No Socialist," March 20).

Obama is a socialist. Look at his career, his past political and social affiliations, and those of most of his cabinet and department appointees. Karl Marx couldn’t have assembled a better team. Of course, no one today is going to advertise himself as a socialist. The new euphemism for it is “progressive.” The original Progressives were socialists.

Blinder denies that Obama wants to nationalize the banks. Yes, he does. Buying a controlling or even minimal share in any private entity by the government, for the purpose of steering its purpose to serve “social” or government ends, is fascism. This is usually called a “government-business partnership.” Also, it is known as “national socialism.” It means working as a slave or a serf for the government, and the government determining one’s rewards and compensation.

Blinder denies that Obama wants to socialize medicine. Yes, he does. He wants to streamline our semi-socialized American health care industry and make it more “efficient.” To do that, the health care industry must be controlled. To control it, it must be taken over. That is called socialism. It means that doctors, nurses and specialists would work as slaves or serfs for the government, with the government determining their rewards and compensation.

Mr. Blinder is in denial that Obama is truly taking the country on the road to serfdom, and that Obama is making the most of it.

Regards,
Edward Cline

10th Amendment Musings

States Rebellion Pending: The 10th Amendment in Action

by Walter Williams

(March 25, 2009)

Our Colonial ancestors petitioned and pleaded with King George III to get his boot off their necks. He ignored their pleas, and in 1776, they rightfully declared unilateral independence and went to war. Today it's the same story except Congress is the one usurping the rights of the people and the states, making King George's actions look mild in comparison. Our constitutional ignorance -- perhaps contempt, coupled with the fact that we've become a nation of wimps, sissies and supplicants -- has made us easy prey for Washington's tyrannical forces. But that might be changing a bit. There are rumblings of a long overdue re-emergence of Americans' characteristic spirit of rebellion.

Eight state legislatures have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and 10th amendments to the U.S. Constitution; they include Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington. There's speculation that they will be joined by Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.

You might ask, "Isn't the 10th Amendment that no-good states' rights amendment that Dixie governors, such as George Wallace and Orval Faubus, used to thwart school desegregation and black civil rights?" That's the kind of constitutional disrespect and ignorance that big-government proponents, whether they're liberals or conservatives, want you to have. The reason is that they want Washington to have total control over our lives. The Founders tried to limit that power with the 10th Amendment, which reads: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

New Hampshire's 10th Amendment resolution typifies others and, in part, reads: "That the several States composing the United States of America, are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their General (federal) Government; but that, by a compact under the style and title of a Constitution for the United States, and of amendments thereto, they constituted a General Government for special purposes, delegated to that government certain definite powers, reserving, each State to itself, the residuary mass of right to their own self-government; and that whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force." Put simply, these 10th Amendment resolutions insist that the states and their people are the masters and that Congress and the White House are the servants. Put yet another way, Washington is a creature of the states, not the other way around.

Congress and the White House will laugh off these state resolutions. State legislatures must take measures that put some teeth into their 10th Amendment resolutions. Congress will simply threaten a state, for example, with a cutoff of highway construction funds if it doesn't obey a congressional mandate, such as those that require seat belt laws or that lower the legal blood-alcohol level to .08 for drivers. States might take a lead explored by Colorado.

In 1994, the Colorado Legislature passed a 10th Amendment resolution and later introduced a bill titled "State Sovereignty Act." Had the State Sovereignty Act passed both houses of the legislature, it would have required all people liable for any federal tax that's a component of the highway users fund, such as a gasoline tax, to remit those taxes directly to the Colorado Department of Revenue. The money would have been deposited in an escrow account called the "Federal Tax Fund" and remitted monthly to the IRS, along with a list of payees and respective amounts paid. If Congress imposed sanctions on Colorado for failure to obey an unconstitutional mandate and penalized the state by withholding funds due, say $5 million for highway construction, the State Sovereignty Act would have prohibited the state treasurer from remitting any funds in the escrow account to the IRS. Instead, Colorado would have imposed a $5 million surcharge on the Federal Tax Fund account to continue the highway construction.

The eight state legislatures that have enacted 10th Amendment resolutions deserve our praise, but their next step is to give them teeth.

My first foray into local politics

Due to some real world complications, this is being posted about 3 days late.

Last Thursday, the Henrico GOP held its Mass Meeting, calling on its members to elect delegates to the State Convention. Approximately 200 persons were in attendance.

Opening on time at 7:00 pm, Mike Wade, Chairman, opened the meeting. Del. James Massie led the assembled in prayer before turning it over to Del. Bill Janis for the Pledge of Allegiance. Del. John O'Bannon read the Virginia Republican Creed:

We Believe:

That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,

That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,

That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,

That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,

That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,

That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation.

Of the three candidates for Attorney General, only Senator Cuccinelli was in attendance, stating that "as Henrico is the 4th largest voting block in the state, where else should he be." He thanked us for letting him go first as this allowed him to be in Hanover later. Of course, THAT meeting was being held at Bass Pro Shop....

The senator stated that the GOP in Virginia has failed. And the root of that failure is that we have not stayed true to conservative principles" as illustrated by recent votes for tax hikes, etc....
Senator Cuccinelli touts his record of staying true to his values as a good reason to choose him as candidate.

Liberal Fairfax has returned him to office, he says, because he sticks to stated values. They know that they can trust him to keep his word and lead on difficult matters. His talent at building a strong, grass roots campaign was mentioned. He is strong on the 2nd Amendment, as shown by the endorsement of the VCDL. He proposed legislation to protect property rights even before the infamous Kelo decision was handed down. Supporting the death penalty, he states that he is hard on crime, though there has been recent controversy on the triggerman rule. Other than the few exceptions on the books, Sen. Cuccinelli has resisted the expansion of the triggerman rule. In conversation with him, he stated that, though it would make it easier to prosecute persons such as the Beltway snipers, such an expansion would not be "conservative." A person pulling the trigger is the one making the decision to commit murder. Those committing a crime in conjuction with that killer may not even know of the intent to kill, nor can one prove otherwise. He is endorsed by Sherriff Mike Wade, and Del. O'Bannon and Del. Bill Janis. His record of winning in Fairfax shows that he can win across Virgnia.
Stickers for every candidate were being worn, predominately with McDonnel, Bolling, and Cuccinelli. Brownlee was a close second.

Second to speak was Jack Reed, on behalf of John Brownlee. Mr. Reed brought home to us that Virginia has elected prosecutors in all of the previous AG races, save one. And that John Brownlee was the only prosecutor in the race. Emphasizing his record as prosecutor, Mr. Reed stated that Mr. Brownlee has a record of sending home illegal aliens. (Not verified in a brief Google search.) John Brown was also touted as being a fresh face. Mr. Brownlee is the candidate that most objects to Senator Cuccinelli's stance on the triggerman rule. Campaign statements indicate that both candidates are engaging in a contest for "most conservative."

Third to speak was Boyd Marcus, on behalf of Dave Foster.
Mr. Marcus states that the Attorney General of Virginia is not only the head prosecutor, he is the manager of the Law Department of Virginia. This election will not be about crime but about the economy and jobs. The AG must know what legal matters mean most to business and what attracts busines to a region. And Dave Foster has the most experience in managing such a firm. He manages over 300 lawyers, covering a multitude of legal matters. He has also been elected to office twice in Arlington, Virginia, thereby demonstrating his ability to get elected by large margins in a liberal enclave. Mr. Marcus said that Dave Foster will win by bringing the necessary moderate swing voters to the table that would be turned off by the other candidates.

Bob McDonell spoke for a brief time. He metioned that Sean Hannity will be speaking at our convention. And that his campaign will officially kick off at Tucker High School, on Parham Rd. on March 28.

He emphasized, also, that this election will be about the economy and jobs, "which is a good thing for Republicans, because we are the party of that is pro-business and pro-job." However, he says that the business climate of Virginia needs to improve. "We need to streamline the permit process. We need to welcome business to Virgnia." He is against the so-called union "card-check" stating that the process would prohibit the private ballot. He wants to provide merit pay for teachers, thereby attracting the best. The state should build up our science programs in schools, across the board. Virginia needs to become the leader in energy development on the East coast. Gas alone could bring in 2600 jobs and provide the state with $8,000,000,000 in revenue. We need to develop the natural resources so abundant in Virginia, such as coal and uranium.

In the local races, Michael Gage came forth to speak about his race against Joe Morrissey (D) in the 74th District. Stressing his background as a small business owner, (he owns a catering business MagPie Creations) he states that he knows how to help the people of his district. He is willing to get his hands dirty. He also mentioned that he lives in the district, as opposed to his opponent......

Pat O'bannon, a Henrico supervisor spoke up, stating that the county budget had been passed and was happy to say that there had been no cuts, no employees were let go, and no raised taxes.

At the end, all those that applied to be delegates to the convention were voted approved by acclamation.

And that's how I became a delegate.

See ya' there!

China calls for new reserve currency

A trillion here, a trillion there....pretty soon it starts to add up. And our creditors have noticed. The US dollar is the world's reserve currency. This allows the US to borrow money heavily since other nations want to hold their reserves in our cash. Well, China has started to worry about the value of our dollar. Perhaps monetizing the debt isn't such a good thing....

China is calling for an independent reserve currency.
One not tied to a single country........hmmm, that would be us... Bet this won't make CNN. Or the New York Times.

China’s central bank on Monday proposed replacing the US dollar as the international reserve currency with a new global system controlled by the International Monetary Fund.

In an essay posted on the People’s Bank of China’s website, Zhou Xiaochuan, the central bank’s governor, said the goal would be to create a reserve currency “that is disconnected from individual nations and is able to remain stable in the long run, thus removing the inherent deficiencies caused by using credit-based national currencies”.

Analysts said the proposal was an indication of Beijing’s fears that actions being taken to save the domestic US economy would have a negative impact on China.

“This is a clear sign that China, as the largest holder of US dollar financial assets, is concerned about the potential inflationary risk of the US Federal Reserve printing money,” said Qu Hongbin, chief China economist for HSBC.

I think I'll look into that "gold" thing...........

Del Jeff Frederick is 10x th Conservative

Postscript to post below:

...and that letter written and signed by the VA Congressional delegation asking Delegate Frederick to step down? Ya'll can take that letter, fold it til it's all pointy corners and stuff it where the sun don't shine. Ya'll have lost the right to ask any conservative to do anything.

Jeff Frederick is ten times the conservative and 100 times the American any current member of the VA Congressional delegation will ever hope to be.

We're going to find some true conservatives, true Americans and we will run them in 2010 and 2012 and put this current crop of dhimmi wannabes out the door.

Thats a promise

From A Conservative to Mr Cantor

I'v been busy the past two days so I haven't really had time to formulate a response to the most breathtaking subversion of our Constitution I've ever seen. I heard about the vote to tax the retention bonuses AIG was contractually obligated to pay 71 employees on Thursday evening and my first thought was: "Damn I hope Congressman Cantor didn't vote for this monstrous violation of the takings clause." I knew it was the dhimmicrats just doing what they do best: ignoring the will of the people, ignoring the Constitution, and covering their slimy asses. I've said repeatedly here and on other forums, the dhimmis are in charge, they can do whatever they like whenever they like.

On Friday morning I was listening to WRVA and Jimmy Barrett and I heard Cantor try to justify his vote to single out 71 American citizens for puntitive retribution.

Well, that dog don't hunt. So, with the help of friends over at FreeRepublic, I can post a response to this idiotic, anti-American, anti-Constitutional, Marxist tactic:

Dear Mr. Cantor-
I just heard that you voted to tax the AIG bonuses. I am stunned that you would vote for a bill that targets specific individuals who did not commit any crime! Like it or not those bonuses were rightfully earned and rightfully paid. The ramifications of this bill are so stunning that I am speechless. What on earth were you thinking? I just cannot believe it.
I used to think you had conservative values and beliefs. I don’t think that anymore. You seem to be drinking the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Kool Aid.
I am disgusted. Don’t count on my vote in the future. You sold this country down the socialist/fascist river with that vote.

We Really Have Won

The Great Betrayal

By David Horowitz and Ben Johnson
FrontPageMagazine.comThursday, March 19, 2009

On this sixth anniversary of America's invasion of Iraq, there is finally a consensus among supporters and opponents that we've won the war. The surge that Bush launched and Democrats opposed has been successful and, as a result, Iraq has become a Middle Eastern democracy, an anti-terrorist regime, and an American ally. It would be hard to imagine a more remarkable turnabout or a more comprehensive repudiation of conventional political wisdom. Yet this has not led to a comparable reappraisal by critics of the war of their previous attacks, or to any mea culpas by Democrats who launched a scorched earth campaign against the president who led it, and continued it for five years while the war dragged on.

The Democratic attacks on the war described America's commander-in-chief as a liar who misled his country and sent American soldiers to die in a conflict that was unnecessary, illegal and unjust. This made prosecution of the war incalculably harder while strengthening the resolve of our enemies to defeat us. It is time to re-evaluate the words and actions of the war's opponents in the stark light of a history that proved them wrong.

In the fall of 2002, a majority of Democrats in the Senate joined Republicans in voting to authorize President Bush to use force to remove the regime of Saddam Hussein. In July 2003, only three months after Saddam had been removed, the Democratic National Committee launched a national campaign which accused President Bush of lying in order to trick Democrats into voting for the war. It was the beginning of a five-year campaign designed to paint the president as the liar-in-chief and America as a criminal aggressor, and the military occupier of a poor country that had not attacked us.

What had changed in the intervening three months to turn Democrats so vehemently against the war they had authorized? The answer can only be found in domestic politics. In those three months, an unknown antiwar candidate named Howard Dean had taken the lead in the primary polls and was looking like a shoe-in for the Democratic presidential nomination. As a result rival candidates who had voted for the war, including eventual nominees Kerry and Edwards, changed their positions 180 degrees and joined the attacks on President Bush. Naturally, the Democrats couldn't admit their attacks were motivated by crass political calculations. Instead, they claimed that they had been deceived by the White House which had manipulated the intelligence on Iraq, persuading them to support the war on false premises.

This allegation was in fact the biggest lie of the war, since Democrats had full access to all U.S. intelligence on Iraq through their seats on the congressional intelligence committees. This intelligence was available to them, in advance of their vote to authorize the use of force. In the months and years that followed, the Democrats added other false charges -- that troops "killed innocent civilians in cold blood," were "terrorizing kids and...women," and had committed atrocities comparable to "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime."

They rejoiced when news reporters leaked information about national security programs designed to combat the terrorists -- and thus destroyed them. They held up funding for American soldiers on the battlefield, attempted to cut off all funding, and when that failed, tried to tie funding to a timeline that would ensure America's defeat. They openly accused uniformed officers like General David Petraeus of lying about conditions on the ground and hoped against hope that ''this war is lost, and the surge is not accomplishing anything.''

Dissent is legitimate in wartime, but the Democratic Party's opposition to this war went far beyond dissent into unprecedented territory. Fortunately, the Bush administration was able to retrieve its own mistakes and its domestic opponents to win a war that Democrats said was unwinnable and (despite their own authorization) shouldn't have been fought in the first place. But it was no thanks to the Party that now occupies the White House that this American war was won.

A Final Note:
For those who feel at times that it is hopeless to take a stand we turn your attention to the nearly 200 brave defenders of the Alamo who fought an entire army to the last man and, in the process, bought precious time to ensure Texas' independence and freedom.

Alone, we can do little but when one hundred, one thousand or one million Americans unite as one and invest their hearts, their minds and their strength to any undertaking, can the results ever be in doubt and woe be unto them that stand in the way.

Already, the politicians are beating a path to our door. It is our duty to provide them with their marching orders and, when needed, to hold their feet to the fire.

I Like Rich People

Not because they're rich, but because they create jobs. Personally, I have found that most rich people are snobs and elitists.

BUT....

Rich people build things; or rather, they pay other people to build things. And when rich people pay other people to build things, other people work.
They're productive. They pay income taxes. They buy groceries and pay sales taxes. They buy clothes, and TV's and washing machines.

When rich people build things, they are the owners and developers. The owners and developers are required by law to hire people to make sure that the people they hired to build things are building it in compliance with existing codes and the Structural Engineers' design.

Thats my job.
I make sure the builders are doing the work so that it doesn't fall down and kill other people.
So when rich people build things, I work. Every day. 6 days a week. 10 hours a day. 2500 hours a year.

I am a warrior on the front lines of the War on Natural Disasters and the Stupid People Who Panic During Them.

Ignore the right hand of the magician (may peace be upon him), because the left hand is the one doing the dirty work.

Interview with Orly Taitz - Obama Eligibility Lawsuit

Over the last 60 years or so, Americans have fallen away from Constitutional concerns. In fact, those citizens that worry about such concerns, unless speaking from the Left, are ridiculed and dismissed. The general public, through apathy and ignorance believe that the government can do anything it wants and that Constitutional requirements will automatically be enforced. Contradictory, isn't it.

The lawsuits to determine President Obama's eligibility continue. While I believe that Obama could be proven to be a martian and still keep his job, other citizens continue to launch their attacks against the political machines that promote and defend the idea that ends justify the means. Since the idea of Obama being elected is supposed to be a "good thing" and any revelations that he is not eligible would probably start riots, any controvery is to be ignored, ridiculed, or dismissed.

Curmudgeonly & Skeptical has an interview broken into five parts. Whether you believe the suit has merit or no, these segments will explain the case and the problems that are associated the Obama case. Click on the above link.

ORLY TAITZ was interviewed last night by Rollye James. I know a number of you believe the Obama citizen eligibility quest is tilting at windmills, but you're wrong. One of the problems is the lack of audible discussion about what this case is about. It has nothing to do with your like or dislike of Obama. It's about the integrity of our Constitution.

3 minute Intro to Rollye James interview with Attorney Orly Taitz, who represents several petitioners to the SCOTUS re Barack Obamam's Citizenship standing.

This segement examines Barry Soretero/ Barack Obama's various identities, and several social security numbers.

Examines Obama's mysterious cash flow, including an unaccounted for $200,000 million ... . Yes, it appears that Barry is also a crook.

Corrupt Democrats continue with circus sideshow

Barney Fraud, um, Frank and Chris Dodd have been attacking those that received bonuses from government money for the last week. They feel that any entity that is "bailed out' should not pay any bonuses. Well, any bonuses that Chris Dodd did not authorize. So, let's penalize these people and take back their money. All of it. Not just the bonuses......

Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and all recipients of bonuses should lose that money. What? AIG? Chris Dodd and Congress authorized that money to be paid to AIG, including the bonuses. Hell, the idiots in Congress are grilling the man that THEY put into AIG! Congress owns AIG! Liddy didn't authorize those bonuses. Dodd did. The Grand Inquisitor, Rep. Kanjorski, not only voted for the bill that authorized the bonuses, he voted AGAINST a bill that would have stopped the payment of those bonuses. Kanjorski received $12,000 in AIG contributions during the 2008 political cycle.

If it is lawful to tax AIG officials at confiscatory rates, why not tax Raines and Gorelick for their bonuses from Fannie and Freddie? Let's take back all of the political money, too.

Fannie Mae plans to pay retention bonuses of at least $1 million to four key executives as part of a plan to keep hundreds of employees from leaving the government-controlled company.

Rival mortgage finance company Freddie Mac is planning similar awards, but has not yet reported on which executives will benefit.

The two companies, which together own or back more than half of the home mortgages in the country, have been hobbled by skyrocketing loan defaults. Fannie recently requested $15 billion in federal aid, while Freddie has sought a total of almost $45 billion.

Will Obama give back the money he received from AIG as Senator?

ABC is reporting that AIG gave funds to the Presidential campaigns AFTER getting bail out funds.

Here's the list of top AIG recipients for the 2008 campaign:

1. Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., $103,100
2. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., $101,332
3. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., $59,499
4. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., $35,965
5. Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., $24,750
6. Former Gov. Mitt Romney, (R) Pres $20,850
7. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., $19,975
8. Rep. John Larson, D-Conn, $19,750
9. Sen. John Sununu, R-N.H., $18,500
10. Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (R) Pres $13,200
11. Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., $12,000
12. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., $11,000

AIG's CEO Edward Libby, who took the job on the orders of Congress, at $1.oo per year, should stand up and tell Congress where they can put this sideshow. If there is such a problem with this, apparently either Libby is incompetant, or the man who hired him, Sec. of the Treasury Geitner, is incompetent. Cut this short. Let Libby do his job. Or fire him. Or his boss.

Tar. Feathers. Politician. Some assembly required.

Veterans Paying Their Own Medical Costs?

“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars to be treated and appreciated by their nation.”—George Washington.

I guess we know for sure how the Annointed One, may peace be upon him, feels about treating the Veterans of earlier wars.

It will decimate the ranks and keep future warriors from making the decision to join.
That is the driving force behind this decision to make veterans pay for their own medical costs.

The loonies will have their socialist utopia with no military. I'll have more thoughts on this later today. I have to go to work now and pay my fair share.

More Dissing of Veterans

and COB6 doesn't like it one dam bit either:

This new approach to screwing veterans however is beyond my parameters. Based on implied contract rules of law where there is not a veteran alive today that ever thought he would be liable for his own care after a combat related injury; I am not at all certain that this change is remotely LAWFUL.

Even if some pony-tailed Chicago lawyer finds a loophole to make this legal, no one with an IQ above that of a pencil sharpener can argue that it is ETHICAL.

But most important is the MORAL part. Anyone who thinks this idea is remotely moral is either retarded or just plain un-American. Where is the morality in a country sending a person to war and then refusing to pay for his care after being maimed in the war?

This is beyond immoral, it is un-American! And I will debate this issue with any dumbass veteran who voted for this amateur. If you’re not a veteran don’t contact me. If you want to defend this as a veteran (and you know we will check), I will do so in any forum you like as often as you like and I will ask nor offer quarter.

To all you trolls out there, consider this before taking my challenge:
President Obama wants to charge combat wounded veterans for care to save $500 million while simultaneously GRANTING $900 million to terrorist in Palestine to recover from the beat down that they sorely deserved.

I know whose side I am on, do you?

To General Shinseki I say RESIGN NOW. This is the only possible way to preserve your integrity as a soldier’s soldier. To do anything less is to slap the face of every wounded warrior and leave yourself as nothing more than a liar and pathetic political
hack.

I don’t call for you resignation because of any malfeasance that you did but as a principled position against this atrocity and solidarity with the soldiers that you once commanded.

Please Sir, You Must RESIGN, RIGHT NOW!

Planting Seeds.......

Conservatives and Republicans who think that they are conservative need to stop hiding. Stop surrendering the field to the left. Even if a conservative is shouted down and abused, their treatment will expose the cowardice and hostility of the Left to the general public. Some of that public may reconsider their allegiance to the Left. We must plant seeds of doubt.

Also In Honor of St. Patrick's Day

and beer, I present Three Beers Later....

He has a very good history lesson about the Irish. He concludes that the GOP is Irish.......

Btw, Three Beers also conveys my feelings in a nutshell about the Irish One's support of the Veterans: F*ck You Very Much, Mistah Commander-in-Chief. Sir.

Why is he upset? Why not let the Commander of the American Legion tell us. (h/t That Lovely Irish lass, Michelle Malkin)

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it."

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, "This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ' to care for him who shall have borne the battle' given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm's way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America's veterans!"

Commander Rehbein was among a group of senior officials from veterans service organizations joining the President, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki and Steven Kosiak, the overseer of defense spending at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The group's early afternoon conversation at The White House was precipitated by a letter of protest presented to the President earlier this month. The letter, co-signed by Commander Rehbein and the heads of ten colleague organizations, read, in part, " There is simply no logical explanation for billing a veteran's personal insurance for care that the VA has a responsibility to provide. While we understand the fiscal difficulties this country faces right now, placing the burden of those fiscal problems on the men and women who have already sacrificed a great deal for this country is unconscionable."

Blogging the GRYR Meeting

Jimmie Massie, John O'Bannon, Bill Janis
Good turnout in spite of the rain.

Bill is up first. (I gave him a challenge coin).
Its hard to be a Republican nowadays.

Primary focus of GA this year was to balance the budget/ cut 4 million.
Set priorities
Capped the amount of bills submitted to 1500.
Bill to exempt veterans with 100% disability from real property tax.

John O'Bannon noted the reason GA meets in January. (Agrarian society..true citizen legislature)

House worked out balanced budget; Senate had to re-work numbers to make their budget balance, because the Senate thought the tobacco tax was going to pass and built thier version of the budget around it.

Billion dollar rainy day fund. Constitutional amendment to increase the size of the rainy day fund. One more cycle and then it goes on the ballot.

Jimmie Massie...freedom is not free..get involved...if you don't like the current political make-up in Washington, you really won't like VA democrat controlled.

Balanced the budget without raising taxes. Housing is Ground Zero. No agreement on bill to help with housing.
Two year Corporate Income Tax study to determine best way to assist in making VA more hospitable to corporations.

Next up..."in this corner weighing in at 140 pounds, he's lean he's mean, he's Fighting Joe Morrissey"..no not Joe...Joe's challenger Mike Gage..we have a challenger for the Pounder this year. So far I like what I hear from this young man.

We need to work to keep Virginia a right to work state. If we allow the Chicago dhimmis to take over, you can kiss right to work good-bye.

Correction on Report from Lejune

This comes via Backfive, so I take it as fact.

President Obama and the National Anthem at Camp Lejeune
Posted: 15 Mar 2009 05:17 PM PDT
While there is plenty of evidence that the President isn't exactly supporting the military, (President Obama's Secretary for Veteran's Affairs admitted that the administration is considering making veterans pay for VA Health benefits), here is one rumor/news item that is just not true.
Hal Turner, who appears to be a radio host (at least occasionally), reported that President Obama did not appear on stage at Camp Lejeune until after the National Anthem played ("Obama skips National Anthem..."). The implication is that he is un-American or anti-patriotic.
Well our friend Corporal Seamus decided to ask about it and received this message, cleared hot, from Lieutenant General Hejlik, Commander of Camp Lejeune.
Totally NOT true. The POTUS was in fact on the stage for "Hail to the Chief" and the National Anthem. Immediately after the signing of our anthem he stepped up to the podium and began to speak. After his remarks he spent more than an hour talking one on one to Marines/Sailors to include our wounded warriors from II MEF. How do I know the above is accurate? Simple I was the Marine general on the stage and I was his escort for the visit. Whoever "hal turner" is he is dead wrong and it is this type of disinformation that hurts our country.
Once again, there is plenty to criticize the POTUS without resulting to petty insinuations.

The Durbin Doctrine’s Assault on Free Speech

Heritage Foundation Morning Bell

Following a premeditated White House campaign to demonize Rush Limbaugh, Newsweek aided the left’s “Hush Rush” campaign with a cover story pushing for Rush to be silenced. Now, Rush can handle criticism from the White House and Newsweek just fine. But there was also a little noticed vote in the Senate late last month that could enable the left to accomplish by government regulation what they could never accomplish with actual debate.
During the debate over the unconstitutional bill that would give the District of Columbia a vote in the House of Representatives, Sens. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) each sponsored amendments with major implications for the First Amendment. DeMint’s amendment banned the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstituting the Fairness Doctrine which, prior to 1987, was used by the government to stifle free speech on our nation’s airwaves. DeMint’s amendment passed 87-11. Score one for free speech.
However, Durbin’s amendment also passed, although by a much narrower 57-41 margin. And what does Durbin’s amendment do? It forces the FCC to “take actions to encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership and to ensure that broadcast station licenses are used in the public interest.” In other words, Durbin wants to bring the wonders of government enforced affirmative action to our nation’s airwaves. Sen. James Inhofe warns: “The revocation of broadcaster licenses [under the Durbin Doctrine] is a real possibility, which at the very least will threaten the willingness of broadcasters to appeal to conservative listeners.”The true intention of the Durbin Doctrine could not be more clear. Its language is modeled after a Center for American Progress report that aims to fix “The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio.” And just two years ago, Durbin told The Hill: “It’s time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine. I have this old-fashioned attitude that when Americans hear both sides of the story, they’re in a better position to make a decision.”Durbin’s commitment to squelching free speech has not diminished at all since that 2007 statement. But Durbin has gotten smarter. He knows that reinstating the old Fairness Doctrine is a non-starter so he has come up with a new but equally pernicious law that will accomplish the exact same thing. Conservatives need to wise up in the fight for free speech. The Fairness Doctrine is dead. The real threat is the Durbin Doctrine.

QUICK HITS

President Hugo Chávez ordered the navy on Sunday to seize seaports in states with major petroleum-exporting installations, part of his effort to assert greater control over infrastructure that had come under the dominion of political opponents in regional elections last year.

Billions of American taxpayer dollars used to bailout insurance giant AIG are flowing to some of the largest foreign banks in the world.

President Barack Obama’s new small-business loan plan will be run through an agency that the GAO says has insufficient oversight in place for that program.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has downgraded the jobs created by the stimulus from 4 million down to 3 million.

Govs. Rick Perry (R-TX), Mark Sanford (R-SC), Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Haley Barbour (R-MS), and Bob Riley (R-AL) have all rejected federal unemployment stimulus money that would have forced them to permanently expand their states unemployment programs.

More on the Dissing of Our Cousins

In an opinion piece published in the New York Post, Arthur Herman, whose latest book is “Gandhi and Churchill: The Epic Rivalry That Destroyed an Empire and Forged Our Age.” points to several examples of Obama apparently seeking to downplay the traditionally close U.S.-Britain ties:
  • Obama did not hold a joint Rose Garden press conference with Brown, the “usual protocol” when a president and British prime minister first meet.
  • Instead of citing the decades-old “special relationship” between the two countries, a White House spokesperson referred to a “special partnership.”
  • In the traditional gift exchange between the two leaders, Brown gave Obama a pen holder made from the timber of the first British ship to fight the slave trade, and a signed first edition of the classic 8-volume biography of Winston Churchill by Randolph Churchill and Sir Martin Gilbert.

Obama’s gift to Brown was a collection of DVDs of classic American films, including “Psycho,” which are all available in British stores.
But Obama had earlier demonstrated his disdain for Churchill, ordering that the bust of Churchill that Prime Minister Tony Blair had presented to the U.S. after 9/11 be returned to the British Embassy.

In fact, another Churchill expert, “Churchill: Speaker of the Century” author James Humes, cited a report that when Obama first entered the Oval Office and saw the Churchill bust, he said, “Get that goddam thing out of here.”

Herman wrote in the Post: “This was a stunning posthumous attack on the memory of a man who was not only the living embodiment of the Anglo-American special relationship (Churchill was half American), but of its ideological foundations.”

That special relationship has seen American and British forces fight together in two World Wars, Korea, the first Gulf War, Bosnia and most recently in Iraq. But the eight volumes of Churchill’s biography “will plainly sit unread on the White House bookshelf — because Barack Obama clearly considers that legacy, like the Anglo-American alliance itself, to be outdated,” Herman observed.

The London Daily Telegraph succinctly stated: “Obama has been rudeness personified toward Britain.”

Oath Keepers: Principles of Our Republic Oath Keepers Are Sworn to Defend

|

Orders We Will Not Obey

There is a new website you should check out. I hope this is serious and not a tactic to identify those who believe in the founding principals of our Nation.
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic …and meant it.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and that oath will be kept. We won’t “just follow orders."

Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic.

1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people. The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of open conflict in the American Revolution. That vile attempt was an act of war, and the American people fought back in justified, righteous self-defense of their natural rights. Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order. Nor will we assist, or support any such attempt to disarm the people by other government entities, either state or federal.
2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control.”
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.
10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
(Read the full declaration here)

We Surround Them in Hanover - Updated!

UPDATE: Well, finally got here....

These lovely ladies, that worked incredibly hard, can say that their efforts in support of Glenn Beck and his 912 Project were a resounding success. My thanks to Laura Glover, Angie Parker, and Debbie Wetlaufer for a great party. They showed that any citizen can mobilize hundreds of people if the cause is right. We Surround Them is a up and coming organization and these women have it right. We should use this momentum to build. Scott and Richard Lee, of The Lee Brothers Talk Show, proved once again why they remain the best two headed talk show in Richmond. They even convinced me to get out of bed early on Saturday. Now THAT'S a miracle. Fine music was provided by Kim Taulbee and Rick Henretty. Their music can be found at Support The Flag.com.

The WST Team put on a heck of party! And our thanks also go out to Sports Page Bar & Grille. They were able to make us feel right at home.

They even put up special decorations for the party.....

BZ's to Laura Glover and her team for organizing this thing over in Mechanicsville Friday night. I should not have been surprised to learn that Laura is a Navy vet, but I always am, especially when they're drop dead gorgeous. (Its a Marine thing. I won't apologize for being a guy. I don't judge by appearence, but if a Lady is attractive, I won't be shy about noticing it.)

The turn-out was tremendous. I estimate over 300 people between the two locations. BZ's also need to go out to Sportspage Bar and Nacho Mama's for hosting this event in Hanover.

I see some good things coming out of this. I believe folks are finally realizing there is strength in numbers and I look forward to working with all these folks.

I think the most important thing about this, to me, was the reassurance that there are like-minded people who understand the importance of the principals America was founded upon.

What the government is engaged in right now is what Frederic Bastiat referred to as "leaglized plunder". I encourage everyone to get a copy of "The Law" by Frederic Bastiat and place it right next to the Constitution and the Declaration. Read it and apply the conditions Bastiat is addressing to our present day situation. The similarities are "spooky".

Glenn is right of course. We need to maintain this momentum and take this to the streets. There is a March on Washington being planned for 23 May, which coincidentally, is Memorial Weekend which means there will be thousands of bikes in DC. Might be a good time to express our opinion.

I would urge everyone to be in DC on the 23rd of May and stay until my Victory in Iraq Rally on 13 June. (Just kidding..but you need to be at both)

I finally met the Lee Brothers. Gave them each a FreedomWorks t-shirt. They are a class act. I will honestly make an attempt to get up on Saturday morning and listen.
