Stuff We Do

I mostly keep a very low profile when it comes to supporting our military and veterans. No one really needs to know what I do and for whom. However, if another related story involving a veteran I have helped are published, I'll call attention to the other story and explain why.

Last month I was asked to play Santa Claus for Gathering of Eagles and by extension, Warrior Legacy Foundation, and give some laptops to some wounded soldiers. The following link is to a story about one of the Warriors who received one of those laptops.

Soldier fights way back from brink
Pieces life together with husband by her side

Major tissue alert, girls.

BZ's and OOOORAHH!!! to Paul Courtier for his allegiance to his fellow Massachuesettians (is that even a word?). He made the laptop happen. I was honored to be able to help.

I Like Rich People

Not because they're rich, but because they create jobs. Personally, I have found that most rich people are snobs and elitists.

BUT....

Rich people build things; or rather, they pay other people to build things. And when rich people pay other people to build things, other people work.
They're productive. They pay income taxes. They buy groceries and pay sales taxes. They buy clothes, and TV's and washing machines.

When rich people build things, they are the owners and developers. The owners and developers are required by law to hire people to make sure that the people they hired to build things are building it in compliance with existing codes and the Structural Engineers' design.

Thats my job.
I make sure the builders are doing the work so that it doesn't fall down and kill other people.
So when rich people build things, I work. Every day. 6 days a week. 10 hours a day. 2500 hours a year.

I am a warrior on the front lines of the War on Natural Disasters and the Stupid People Who Panic During Them.

Ignore the right hand of the magician (may peace be upon him), because the left hand is the one doing the dirty work.
