So Called "Liberty" Candidates Threaten Lawsuit To Silence Opponents

In what appears to be a blatant and ridciulous attempt to silence political speech, members of the Liberty Campaign have threatened to sue American citizens exercising their 1st Amendment right of free speech. Seems free speech only works when you are not disagreeing with them.

The Paulbots are taking lessons from the ACLU and ANSWER.

This Aint Hell has all the particulars.

For CJ

Blackfive Blackout: MilBloggers Supporting CJ Grisham
Posted: 15 Dec 2009 10:59 PM PST
FOR TODAY, Wednesday 16 December 2009, many if not most, fellow milblogs -- including This Ain't Hell, From My Position, Miss Ladybug, Boston Maggie, Grim's Hall, and those participating in the Wednesday Hero program -- are going silent for the day. Some are choosing to go silent for a longer period of time.
The reason for this is two-fold. First, milblogs are facing an increasingly hostile environment from within the military. While senior leadership has embraced blogging and social media, many field grade officers and senior NCOs do not embrace the concept. From general apathy in not wanting to deal with the issue to outright hostility to it, many commands are not only failing to support such activities, but are aggressively acting against active duty milbloggers, milspouses, and others. The number of such incidents appears to be growing, with milbloggers receiving reprimands, verbal and written, not only for their activities but those of spouses and supporters.

Read the rest at Blackfive.

Update by Cargosquid: Aaaand we're done. Good luck CJ.

Military.com Article on Asshat Mooozzziee Murderer

Alleged wounded? Alleged casualties?

Details Emerge on Hood Rampage Suspect

WASHINGTON - His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with Soldiers who supported U.S. wars. He required counseling as a medical student because of problems with patients.

There are many unknowns about Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base. As of this morning 13 people are dead and 30 wounded following his alleged shooting spree at Fort Hood, Texas.

Most of all, Hasan's motive remains unknown. But details of his life and mindset, emerging from official sources and personal acquaintances, are troubling.

For six years before reporting for duty at Fort Hood, Texas, in July, the 39-year-old Army major worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center pursuing his career in psychiatry, as an intern, a resident and, last year, a fellow in disaster and preventive psychiatry. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001.

This Aint Hell has some insight and I agree.

VoteVets Is Dishonest and Despicible

They have never endorsed a conservative candidate, veteran or otherwise.
From Wikki:
Initially composed of United States Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, the organization views defense policy as an American priority. The stated goal of the PAC is to put in Congress Afghanistan or Iraq war veterans who are critical of the execution of the war in Iraq.

They run this ad thanking Perriello for voting for the Wacky-Marxist Cap and Tax Bill. (I'm not cluttering up our site with a bunch of videos from these asshats)

Then, they have the audacity to run radio spots encouraging Sens Warner and Webb to support the Senate version of Cap and Tax and use the sacrifices of our nations' Warriors to justify what VoteVets calls a fight "against big oil and special interests".

If they had a true American agenda, they'd be working to insure this country had resources to help returning veterans, not working to reduce or eliminate jobs in domestic energy production here in Virginia and across the Nation.

Shabby and tasteless, especially when you consider this:

Now We Know Whose Side They Are On

No Oil for Blood
Thanks to three American senators, China will be pumping Iraqi oil
by Frederick W. Kagan 09/16/2008 3:15:00 PM

If they are so concerned about the sacrifices of their brothers in arms, why do they endorse candidates who divert critical funding for fuel and ammunition to pork barrel projects?

Why are they only endorsing candidates who are against the Global War on Terrorism?

This Ain't Hell (but you can see it from here), has some more background and current information on votevets.

Priorities

Suppose you work for a veterans service organization and you have $400,000 to spend on that service to veterans. What would you spend it on? Maybe lobbying to get the President to make a timely decision about supporting the troops engaged in Afghanistan?

Maybe an outreach program to veterans who suffer from traumatic brain injuries or PTSD? Perhaps use the money to influence Congress to exempt veterans who rely on the VA or other military health care from the impending penalty for having free healthcare?

Maybe something like a memorial to people who serve? An outward-bound program for disabled veterans?

Something to let those currently deployed know that we’re thinking of them?

Well, not if your organization is named VoteVets - you’d spend your $400,000 on RADIO spots for pushing a clean energy bill.

Yeah, they’re calling it an “ad blitz” but how hard is it to “blitz” a 19th century technology? And a “clean energy” ad buy? Of course, their strategy is to perpetuate the “war for oil” lie;

More Dissing of Veterans

and COB6 doesn't like it one dam bit either:

This new approach to screwing veterans however is beyond my parameters. Based on implied contract rules of law where there is not a veteran alive today that ever thought he would be liable for his own care after a combat related injury; I am not at all certain that this change is remotely LAWFUL.

Even if some pony-tailed Chicago lawyer finds a loophole to make this legal, no one with an IQ above that of a pencil sharpener can argue that it is ETHICAL.

But most important is the MORAL part. Anyone who thinks this idea is remotely moral is either retarded or just plain un-American. Where is the morality in a country sending a person to war and then refusing to pay for his care after being maimed in the war?

This is beyond immoral, it is un-American! And I will debate this issue with any dumbass veteran who voted for this amateur. If you’re not a veteran don’t contact me. If you want to defend this as a veteran (and you know we will check), I will do so in any forum you like as often as you like and I will ask nor offer quarter.

To all you trolls out there, consider this before taking my challenge:
President Obama wants to charge combat wounded veterans for care to save $500 million while simultaneously GRANTING $900 million to terrorist in Palestine to recover from the beat down that they sorely deserved.

I know whose side I am on, do you?

To General Shinseki I say RESIGN NOW. This is the only possible way to preserve your integrity as a soldier’s soldier. To do anything less is to slap the face of every wounded warrior and leave yourself as nothing more than a liar and pathetic political
hack.

I don’t call for you resignation because of any malfeasance that you did but as a principled position against this atrocity and solidarity with the soldiers that you once commanded.

Please Sir, You Must RESIGN, RIGHT NOW!

I'm Back From The Secret Conclave

"It was a secret meeting in the dead of the night with mysterious sanctimony
In accordance with prescribed rituals and time-honored ceremony.
Matters of grave concern were weighed with dedicated caution.......

Like whether or not the girl at the next table was sporting naturals or silicone"
(silicone, according to Army Girl and she should know, hers are natural and Uncle Jimbo who just knows about these things)

Seriously, I had a meeting with Blackfive, Uncle Jimbo, Wolf, Thus Spake Ortner, Army Girl, Jonn Lilyea and a young lady who is going to be a force to be rekoned with.
Katie, it was an honor to make your acquaintence. Next time, I'll make a pass at you I promise.
I missed COB6 due to a conflict.

I laid out my fund raising proposal and everyone is onboard. Matt assured me that Blackfive is going to help in anyway they can and Uncle Jimbo will be the Master of Ceremonies.

So now I have to pitch this Victory Celebration to everyone and anyone who might want to donate a few thousand to help put it together.

Donations for this event are tax deductible BTW; the IRS says so.
Google IRS Ruling 84-140.

Keep your eye on Blackfive folks. There is great stuff coming.

Round Up of 0Biden

I was going to post wonderful, ingenious snippets of political snark, observations, and evidence of Biden's complete suitability to be 0bama's VP candidate (for the GOP, that is.)

But others have done a much better job. Without further ado:

Biden and Murtha

Biden's Foreign Policy - Being proudly wrong for decades

Just start at the top and scroll down

A Petition for the Congressional Progressive Caucus

Link to sign petition here.

Blogs referencing Winter Soldier and IVAW:
This Aint Hell
Thus Spake Ortner
The Talon
Winter Soldier

In March 2008, the anti-war organization Iraq Veterans Against the War held an event entitled Winter Soldier-Iraq and Afghanistan at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD. The event was self-consciously patterned after the 1971 Winter Soldier Investigation held in Detroit by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War(VVAW). During that event, over one hundred purported Vietnam veterans "testified" to widespread and horrific atrocities committed routinely by American forces in Vietnam.

....the general theme of the 1971 Winter Soldier Investigation of widespread atrocities committed by American forces in Vietnam passed largely unchallenged into much of our culture. It has been a mainstay of the film industry for decades. It has harmed the image of America in general, and the honor of three million Vietnam Veterans in particular.

Various sources on the Internet and in print, including the IVAW, the VVAW and the Veterans for Peace as well as other organizations associated with them claimed that "testimony" given in March covered a variety of matters including widespread atrocities, indiscriminate and unwarranted killing of civilians and destruction of property and infrastructure, torture of detainees, mutilation of corpses and the illegal use of Afghan bodies for medical "practice", rampant sexual misconduct, racism and drug/alcohol use by American soldiers and on and on. IVAW is now reporting that they will provide the results of their investigation to your caucus on May 15, 2008. We the undersigned request that the Congressional Progressive Caucus take the following steps:

* Make request of the Iraq Veterans Against the War that member(s) of the Caucus be provided video of the entire Winter Soldier Investigation testimony proceedings and be provided access to all those who testified,
*That the Caucus require any testimony given by IVAW be presented in the following format:
D: Date(s) - When did the incident occur?
U: Unit(s) - What military units were involved?
P: Personnel - What are the names of the participants and witnesses?
E: Event(s) - What exactly happened exactly where?
S: Signature(s) - Was this reported at the time or later and were reports, affidavits or depositions signed, or will they now be signed?
* That in the event that staff determines that there has been testimony given that touches on areas where, in the words of Senator Warner, the members of the SASC "have a responsibility to establish where in the military chain of command rests the 'accountability,' depending of course, on the accuracy of the facts", the Caucus forward the information to the House Armed Services Committee (HASC),
* That the Caucus request and all documents and records, signed statements and recordings, audio, video or digital, that bear on the claims made and being investigated,
* That the Caucus demand that those making such claims or professing publicly to verify those claims be requested or subpoened to appear before the HASC under oath, to answer questions.

In 1971 the Senate of the United States was derelict in its duty of both oversight and follow-up and in the reasonable regard and respect it should have shown in consideration of the sacrifice and service of the American armed forces and veterans. We request that the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus not allow what happened to a previous generation of veterans be allowed to happen to this generation of Warriors.

Link to sign petition here.

Winter Soldier Roundup

Winter Soldier II, or as I like to call it, "those delusional lying bastards", is over.

Here is a roundup:

Update and moved to top: I just found another GREAT blog: VeteranAmerican. Just scroll down and enjoy.

Of course, to start there is everyone's favorite Marine: every hippie's favorite Daddy, Concrete Bob.

Then there is Ronald Winter, who is, demonstrably, very intelligent since he links to Bob.

Denis Keohane, at Orbiter Dictum, has a Reporters’ Guide: Winter Soldier Investigation 2008
along with many other IVAW posts.

The Real News on You Tube is chock full of video goodies about Winter Soldier.

And of course, there are the Vets for Freedom. Check out the Troop Blogs.

The Democracy Project has quite a few entries, including one showing just how "balanced" the Washington Post is in their coverage. Just scroll through the site.

John Kerry (Did you know that he served in Viet Nam?) gets confronted about WSII on a video link at Illusion Or Reality.

Pictures of the GOE March in DC at Marooned in Marin.

Great pictures and video at MidnightBlue. Did you hear me? Video! Scroll down, more than one post on patriots.

And the Sniper is on target.

Jonn Lilyea nails it in seven indepth posts about WSII and the GOE rally. Click on the "Recent Posts" over on the Right to find them.

And a fun time was had by all. Wish I could have gone.
