Veteran's Day 11-11-11 Washington DC

WILL VETERANS BRING END TO SOCIALIST MARCH ON USA?

By J.B. Williams
November 6, 2011
NewsWithViews.com

Veterans and service members across the country have issued a national Call-to-Action for all patriotic Americans under a document titled A Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic, an ongoing strategy to be launched in Washington D.C. on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011.

Men and women who have risked life and limb to fight for freedom and liberty around the globe, now turn their attention to fighting for freedom and liberty at home. They are calling for peaceful actions, both nationally and locally, beginning on 11.11.11 in their assembly at the Washington Memorial at 0600.

The Declaration to Restore is extensive, and very clear. They are calling upon all who have taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, to act now, upon those oaths. They are calling upon oath takers, both active and inactive, as well as all patriotic American citizens prepared to stand with them in pursuit of justice, a return to constitutional government and the rule of law.

Led by Col. James Harding, USAF Ret., the twentieth most decorated military officer alive today, and Col. Harry Riley, USA Ret. – via Veteran Defenders of America – the organization has had enough and will not sit idly by and watch the current destruction of their country and the daily assault on everything they hold dear.

Working against a strong head wind to get their word out, the word is getting out and many are answering the call. A partial list of supporters is posted at the organizations web site, demonstrating a clear grassroots rebellion swelling from the bottom up.

Great effort went into the Veterans Declaration, but what is the end game? A call for Obama and others to resign is not likely to result in any resignations. Even the call for impeachment is unlikely to cause members of congress to begin impeachment proceedings, after congress has ignored their honor-bound duty to have stopped Obama & Co. long before now.

Another rally in D.C. is likely to end with the same results as all previous rallies in D.C., no change in the anti-American national direction, if there is no clear strategy for carrying out the demands.
So, what is the real strategy?

When asked what the Veterans and Patriots hope to achieve, U.S. Patriots Union Co-Founder Tim Harrington said it right – “We have to start somewhere...” – Patriots Union is the parent organization for Veteran Defenders. The two organizations joined forces back in May 2011, with Veteran Defenders becoming the “oath takers” division of Patriots Union.

Explaining further – “The 11.11.11 Event in D.C. is not intended to be the end-all be-all solution for our nation’s woes, in one afternoon. It marks the beginning, a launching pad for an ongoing strategy to confront anti-American and unconstitutional activities in our government from the ground up, fighting local corruption as well as national corruption, one day at a time, one incident at a time.” – said Harrington, a former Marine Sergeant. “The idea is to no longer be silent or complacent...”

11.11.11 will not mark the end of the march to socialism in the U.S., but it will mark the beginning of the end, according to Harrington and Harding.

“We don’t expect criminals in the federal government to give up easily, after working so hard for so long to entrench themselves in positions of power,” said Col. Harding, explaining further, “We anticipate serious resistance from those who mean harm to America, but we are up to the task.”

“It is apparent, based on many indisputable facts, that individual liberty, possession of property, national sovereignty, national security, and freedom will not survive if the present political power base prevails. Therefore a course change is now required as determined by millions of Americans, and spelled out in A Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic.” – Said retired USAF Brigadier General Charles Jones III.

Veteran Defender Major General Paul Vallely (USA Ret.) was even more succinct in his statement – “President Obama, his appointees and czars must be replaced immediately.” But nobody is operating under the illusion that the massive problems in our country can be solved in a single afternoon or event...

Col. Harry Riley puts a fine point on the matter at hand – “Consider the millions that have sacrificed to their death, blood spilled and families destroyed...most from our warriors and families...just one example of the price paid for our freedom and liberty. And now, Obama is exercising a free rein to destroy our nation as slowly and methodically as a creeping undetected cancer. – It must stop!”

An increasing number of veterans and patriots are joining the veterans Call-to-Action, and it marks the first time in recent history when veterans stepped up to take a firm stand against a runaway government, calling upon all patriotic citizens to stand with them.

For the veterans, they seem to understand the long road ahead, the challenges involved, and the need for a sustained strategy which relies not on politicians, but rather on the people, who will not allow the destruction of the American Dream to continue.

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin lost his honorable military career and went to prison for simply doing the right thing, what his oath required him to do, made a political prisoner by his illegitimate Commander-in-Chief and a corrupt UCMJ... Lt. Commander Walter F. Fitzpatrick, III sits in a Monroe County jail today for attempting repeatedly to keep his oath to protect and defend.

Meanwhile, our federal government continues to drive the nation deeper into chaos and calamity.

Sitting in military prison today, are numerous honorable soldiers who kept their promise, only to be charged, tried and incarcerated for doing so, by an anti-military administration that continues to place soldiers in harm’s way without the consent of congress, the support of the people, and under insane rules of engagement, making them political prisoners upon their return from combat, the truth that would exonerate these soldiers, withheld from the public. This insanity must end and these political prisoners must be set free.

The time for real American change has arrived, and the veterans are the right people to lead that initiative. I will being standing with those veterans in D.C. on 11.11.11 and invite YOU to stand with us too, on Veterans Day and every day after, until true justice is achieved and freedom rings once again in America.

Two Virginia Heros Talk About the Museum

From the earliest days of this project, we were filled with huge reservoirs of hope, ambition, and purpose. It really did start with a small group wanting to tell a very big and important story. We dedicated ourselves to honoring our service members and their families, and to educating our citizens. What strides we have taken! Surely we have had angels on our side. I imagine those angels to be the voices of American servicemen and women and their families, urging us: "Tell our story." I am gratified and humbled to be able to do just that. This facility will be a must‐go destination for all ages.

Susan Keating,
The Wartime Museum Board of Trustees
Author and Journalist, specializing in national security

We see The Wartime Museum as a favorite destination for school children with its interactive displays, oral histories of soldiers and civilians, outdoor landscapes of war, and hands‐on exhibitions featuring tanks, armored cars and other vehicles actually used in our conflicts. Who says education has to be boring?

During four decades as a war correspondent, I accompanied our troops into battle from Vietnam to Iraq, and it is a privilege to be associated with the creation of a museum to tell their stories and honor their sacrifices and that of their families. We have an obligation to remember the service of millions of Americans who have protected our freedom and defended our country. This museum will honor that obligation.

Joseph L. Galloway, (We Were Soldiers Once...and Young)
The Wartime Museum Board of Trustees

Virginia has some amazing folks. We always have. The Wartime Museum perfectly aligns with the tenets of Gathering of Eagles, EaglesUP, and Warrior Legacy Foundation. As a member of GoE, a Board Member of EaglesUP, and an unpaid volunteer for WLF, I will assist this endeavour in any way they ask.

Daily Grind from The Hammer

I was actually working today, so I missed a lot of things I usually post.

Two items of a personal nature I'd like to share:

First, I've been asked to sit on the Board of the newly established EaglesUP! 501(c)(3) organization, an honor I have accepted. (Those Jersey girls have a way of talking you into anything.)

Second, I've been asked by none other than Laughing Wolf hisownself to be a member of the core group Cooking With the Wounded, another honor I readily accepted. You don't refuse a member of the team at Blackfive, you just don't. They have things and know stuff.

The Daily Grind
BY Mary Katharine Ham

Oops, again: "In a statement the authors of the paper said: 'Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work. One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes.'

Dana Perino and Bill Burck on the Friday night news dump: "So, in one corner we have a legal all-star team of Mukasey, Filip, Estrada, Mahoney, Goldsmith, and Margolis. In the other corner, we have OPR operating far outside its comfort zone and area of expertise. This shouldn’t have been close — and it wasn’t, on the merits. The fact that OPR almost succeeded — and was stopped only because Margolis did the right thing and brought the curtain down on this farce — should remind everyone that partisan politics are alive and well at the Justice Department."

Vindicating John Yoo.

USA! USA! USA!

E.J. Dionne goes Jimmy V on health care.

Salman Rushdie: "Amnesty International has done its reputation incalculable damage by allying itself with Moazzam Begg and his group Cageprisoners, and holding them up as human rights advocates. It looks very much as if Amnesty's leadership is suffering from a kind of moral bankruptcy, and has lost the ability to distinguish right from wrong."

Ron Paul won the CPAC straw poll, signaling something very significant. Remember how much it portended when Mitt Romney won it in a landslide?

Aww: Valerie Jarrett wants Sarah Palin to stop making fun of "hope and change."

Keith Hennessey ponders the president's goals in the Blair House summit.

Gathering of Eagles National Chairman

First, as a contributor to this blog, I want to thank everyone who has stepped up in the last 96 hours and contributed to this event. We haven't passed the thousand dollar mark yet, but we're getting close. Thank you for recognizing how important this event is to thousands of folks.

Now a word from our Chairman:
From the National Chairman of Gathering of Eagles, Captain Larry W. Bailey USN (Ret):

SITUATION REPORT TO ALL SUPPORTERS OF OUR TROOPS!

Folks, this is an emergency. Come what may, on June 13th we will thank our troops for their sacrifices in achieving victory in Iraq.

However, there’s a minor hiccup: the major-donor financing we were hoping to get to underwrite the event has apparently fallen through.

We may have misjudged the current economic climate in expecting someone to be the George Soros of our side, but, whatever the case, we don’t have the money to conduct Victory in Iraq Day.

It is therefore with much embarrassment and humility that we must ask you to do what thousands of Americans did for the very first Gathering of Eagles on March 17, 2007—send as much as you can as soon as you can.

As Mike Connelly of Eagles UP! stated, ”We will have a rally even if only a dozen patriots show up and we have to use a tiny little PA system!”

That’s how we all feel. We have the permits and we know how to put on a rally, so all we need is dollars—and we need them FAST! What we do on VI Day will be in direct proportion to how you respond to this appeal, so be generous.

A lot of work (A LOT OF WORK!) has already gone into this event—too much to call things off—so please enter “generous mode” and send as much as you can as soon as you can.

You can send a check to GOE at PO Box 291; Chocowinity, NC 27817 or make a payment by PayPal. Link is at the top of this page.

And please pass this appeal to your entire address book, requesting that all recipients pass it on to their address books! Folks, this is serious; otherwise we wouldn’t be bothering you.

Help us show our appreciation to the US military for winning the war in Iraq!

Sincerely,

The Coalition Committee for VI Day

Who Gets To Decide?

When we've won, I mean. Who gets to say it? Who needs to say it to make it true, or believable, or justified?
My guess would be the people who actually did the heavy-lifting. The men and women who got their boots muddy, their hands dirty. The ones who sacrificed everything to get where we are today.
This past November, Zombietime came up with an idea that took off like wildfire. A Declaration of Victory in Iraq, and named 22 November as V-I Day.

If you haven't bothered to read the whole post, you should; because at the bottom of that post are excerpts from some people who did the heavy lifting, who got their hands dirty and their boots bloody fighting to free 27 million people from a monster and then spent 3 more years eradicating any and all of the idiots who decided to show up and be targets.

You see, I know some of those people personally. I count them among my friends, and they in turn consider me one. That in itself is an honor I would never have expected but because they consider me a friend, and because friends help each other, I'm going to do whatever it takes to give them what they earned, what they DESERVE.

A Victory Party A Victory Celebration A Victory Parade.
An acknowledgement of their sacrifices, their efforts, their hard work.

I can do it. I've done things like this in the past. They know that and they have offered words of encouragement and support.

We have big plans. We have some great ideas and we need your help and your support.
As zombietime says though, if you don't think we've won; if you're one of those that won't admit victory no matter what, fine. Ignore us.

But if you think we have finally crossed that line; if you think our military has done what the democrats and the VLWM said could not and would not happen, then jump on board.
It's time, people. The time is now, and the place is Washington DC.
Lets thank our military for a job well done and stick it in the faces of the naysayers.

Tidbits From The Internet

Some interesting tidbits from the internet:

First, I have to encourage everyone to go out and buy Tyson Foods products. Seems they had a come to Jesus moment (pun intended; get it? Jesus? Christian? never mind) and have reinstated Labor Day as a holiday. The power of the people is once again demonstrated.

Hand salute to Tyson Foods for stepping up and upholding traditional American values.

Barack HUSSEIN Obamamama's Don't Ask Don't Drill Policy:

From HumanEventsOnline:

Despite his conditional, latter-day support for limited offshore drilling, Obama is the sole sponsor of legislation that would block geological research to locate offshore oil.

In 2005, Congress mandated new, quintennial inventories, then gave Interior six months and $0.00 to assess how much oil and natural gas undergird the 1.76 billion-acre Outer Continental Shelf -- a laughably impossible task.

Obama’s “Oil SENSE Act” would repeal the 2005 Energy Policy Act’s authorization of these inventories. S.115 would leave decision makers with Carter Administration maps drawn with pre-PC technology. This is like engineering a Space Shuttle mission with slide rules.

From FrontPageMagazine:

.....Seven Environmental Catastrophes Liberals Don’t Want You to Know About Because They Helped Cause Them, provides a framework for a detailed examination of the effects of sacred-cow environmental projects such as the ban on DDT and the promotion of ethanol. He also explores the cover-up of the polluting effect of contraceptives and abortion drugs, the failure of ill-advised forestry management policies and the bankruptcy of the endangered species act.

...environmentalists tout the benefits of bio-fuels, but in reality bio-fuel production pulls land out of food crop production, increases food prices, threatens wildlife and ultimately increases greenhouse gas emissions. Bio-fuels do not offer any of the purported benefits touted by environmentalists, he says, who, at bottom, have contempt for the internal combustion engine itself

.....ethanol provides only two-thirds the energy content of gasoline, is expensive to produce and releases more harmful emission amounts than gasoline. Its real costs are hidden by government support, including $5 billion in subsidies, a federal excise forgiveness tax of $.51 per gallon, and an ethanol tariff protection from imports of 2.5%, plus $.54 per gallon. The government requires gasoline producers to buy four billion gallons of ethanol yearly, purchasing support that will increase to 7.5 billion gallons by 2012. Further, ethanol emissions are actually double those of gasoline when its emissions are counted and combined with emissions arising from its transportation via truck rather than pipeline systems and its intensive production requirements – planting, growing, weeding, reaping, fermentation and distribution.
Further, diverting corn production from food production increases the acreage devoted to corn; squeezes out cultivation of soybeans, cotton and barley; and causes upward price pressures on other grains, dairy products, poultry and meat. Ethanol production incentives could also prompt farmers to clear forests which could eliminate animal habitats and lessen air quality with fewer trees to absorb carbon dioxide.

The folks over at EaglesUP are busy working on a new site. I've seen the first release and it's pretty good. McCain Wakes Up From Coma

Another post on the same topic is at The Talon

from Family Security Matters

On Domestic Oil Drilling, Republican Leadership Is Finally Emerging
A recent Gallup poll revealed that 57% of Americans want to open previously untouched territories to oil drilling. A Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll had the number of Americans in favor at 59%. I would suspect that as gasoline prices rise, the percentage of Americans in favor of new drilling will too.
There is an estimated 17.8 billion barrels of oil located off American shores that is currently off limits to oil companies. According to federal data, that's about the same as 10 years worth of current U.S. oil production, and approximately 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. And, these figures don't take into account the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge or the 800 billion barrels of oil that could be had from shale in the Midwest.
Finally, Sen. John McCain apparently has come out of his coma and realizes that the best way for America to become energy independent is to increase domestic drilling.
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a potential vice-presidential selectee, has also gotten religion and now wants to lift a federal ban on offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. President Bush has long called for increased domestic drilling, but until recently, that clarion song has fallen on deaf ears. Now the public has stood up and paid attention. It seems that $4-a-gallon gasoline will do that. Americans are beginning to understand that importing foreign oil and not increasing domestic drilling just doesn't make sense.
So what do Sen. Barack Obama and his liberal friends propose to reduce America's dependency on foreign oil? A "windfall profits tax" on oil companies, of course. This is the same failed strategy used by Jimmy Carter. If their most recent tax proposal had taken root, a gallon of gasoline would have increased as much as 50 cents after the oil companies passed the tax on to consumers.
The do-nothing Democrats maintain that increased drilling will only lower gasoline prices a few cents. So, is that a bad thing?
Democrats say that drilling will blemish beaches with oil spills. Oh? Because of new technologies, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita only caused off-shore oil rigs to spill 13,000 barrels of oil in the water; a mere drop in the bucket.
Democrats think nuclear power plants are unsafe, but not one death can be contributed to them in this country. Newer technologies have made them even safer than before, and plutonium rods can now be recycled. Sen. Obama generally supports nuclear power, but has offered no specifics, incentives or leadership in this regard.
Sen. Obama uttered a Freudian slip when he said that gasoline prices are rising too fast. That means he's for higher prices, just not too fast. He and other liberal senators want to reduce gasoline consumption by way of rising prices, thus forcing conservation. The fact that this strategy will cripple the economy and lower American's standard of living is never discussed.
Sen. McCain summed up the consequences of America's dependence on foreign oil when he said, "...our petrodollars are underwriting tyranny, anti-Semitism, the brutal repression of women in the Middle East, and dictators and criminal syndicates in our own hemisphere." He also warned that a successful terrorist attack on a Middle East oil installation could plunge the country into an "economic crisis of monumental proportions." Is this what the Democrats are waiting for?
Sen. McCain forgot to mention the huge trade deficit that the importation of oil creates, and that the profits enjoyed by Middle Eastern countries are being used to buy American banks and landmarks like the Chrysler Building.
I believe that there would be an immediate drop in worldwide oil prices once speculators realized that America was finally serious about increasing domestic drilling and becoming energy dependent. The theory of supply and demand would reverberate throughout the world oil markets. Good paying American jobs would be created, more income taxes would be collected, and there would be many more billions of dollars that could be earned and invested in this country instead of the homelands of our enemies.
Gasoline prices could emerge as the campaign issue for this upcoming election. Over the next four months it will be clear to the electorate that the Democratic energy policy, if you can call it that, is to do nothing. If Republican leadership prevails, voters may sweep away those Democrats who stand in the way of increased domestic drilling and energy independence. Only time will tell.
If nothing else, increased domestic drilling buys time for, not postpones, the development of alternative forms of energy. The sooner America is weaned off oil completely, the better we will all be.

Set Your Clocks

This Tuesday, June 17th at 5:00PM EDT, Author and Talon contributor Ronald Winter ("Masters of the Art; A Fighting Marine's Memoir of Vietnam") will be the sole guest for one hour on the top rated program at Global Talk Radio's "Calling All Authors."
Valerie Connelly is the host for this popular long running show. You can listen live and call in to ask Ron questions by visiting http://www.globaltalkradio.com/shows/callingallauthors/

I have just finished reading "Masters of the Art" and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a true account of Viet Nam by someone who was there, on the ground, voluntarily.

I'm trying to finish "House to House" by SSG David Bellavia, which I also recommend (GET THIS BOOK READ THIS BOOK) and have just received a copy of Michael Yon's "Moment of Truth in Iraq", which is next on my list.
Unless I get my copy of "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell back from my buddy Hershal in time.

I'm also deeply engrossed in this riveting piece of literature. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a real page turner, folks. Leave the lights on and make sure the phone works before you start this one.

Should Iran Last Another Year

My friend and former Marine door gunner has some interesting observations about Monkey Boy Imeanajihad.

From the Talon
Suppose John McCain becomes president next January.
Suppose Iran is still training special hit squads to enter Iraq to kill our troops? The stated purpose of this tactic is to keep adding to the American casualty count as the Iraqi Army gets better at its job, with Iran hoping the US will leave before the Iraqis are capable of holding their own.
I ask about McCain because he apparently is the only presidential candidate who has plans to smoke Iran if necessary, offering neither remorse nor apologies.
It is an important question because Iran is acknowledged by just about every thinking person in our solar system to be instigating the violence against us in Iraq, with the ultimate goal of forcing us out of the region, obliterating Israel and eventually ruling the entire Middle East.

Winter Soldier

In March 2008, the anti-war organization Iraq Veterans Against the War held an event entitled Winter Soldier-Iraq and Afghanistan at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD. The event was self-consciously patterned after the 1971 Winter Soldier Investigation held in Detroit by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War(VVAW). During that event, over one hundred purported Vietnam veterans "testified" to widespread and horrific atrocities committed routinely by American forces in Vietnam.

....the general theme of the 1971 Winter Soldier Investigation of widespread atrocities committed by American forces in Vietnam passed largely unchallenged into much of our culture. It has been a mainstay of the film industry for decades. It has harmed the image of America in general, and the honor of three million Vietnam Veterans in particular.

Various sources on the Internet and in print, including the IVAW, the VVAW and the Veterans for Peace as well as other organizations associated with them claimed that "testimony" given in March covered a variety of matters including widespread atrocities, indiscriminate and unwarranted killing of civilians and destruction of property and infrastructure, torture of detainees, mutilation of corpses and the illegal use of Afghan bodies for medical "practice", rampant sexual misconduct, racism and drug/alcohol use by American soldiers and on and on. IVAW is now reporting that they will provide the results of their investigation to your caucus on May 15, 2008. We the undersigned request that the Congressional Progressive Caucus take the following steps:

* Make request of the Iraq Veterans Against the War that member(s) of the Caucus be provided video of the entire Winter Soldier Investigation testimony proceedings and be provided access to all those who testified,
*That the Caucus require any testimony given by IVAW be presented in the following format:
D: Date(s) - When did the incident occur?
U: Unit(s) - What military units were involved?
P: Personnel - What are the names of the participants and witnesses?
E: Event(s) - What exactly happened exactly where?
S: Signature(s) - Was this reported at the time or later and were reports, affidavits or depositions signed, or will they now be signed?
* That in the event that staff determines that there has been testimony given that touches on areas where, in the words of Senator Warner, the members of the SASC "have a responsibility to establish where in the military chain of command rests the 'accountability,' depending of course, on the accuracy of the facts", the Caucus forward the information to the House Armed Services Committee (HASC),
* That the Caucus request and all documents and records, signed statements and recordings, audio, video or digital, that bear on the claims made and being investigated,
* That the Caucus demand that those making such claims or professing publicly to verify those claims be requested or subpoened to appear before the HASC under oath, to answer questions.

In 1971 the Senate of the United States was derelict in its duty of both oversight and follow-up and in the reasonable regard and respect it should have shown in consideration of the sacrifice and service of the American armed forces and veterans. We request that the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus not allow what happened to a previous generation of veterans be allowed to happen to this generation of Warriors.

Time To Vote

for America's Favorite Mom. Blackfive has the post up but you can click here and vote for Patti Patton-Bader, founder of Soldier's Angels. Just do it. Trust me, you'll feel better.

In other news:
I received a message from my adopted son in Iraq this morning. Gathering of Eagles has been covering him up with letters and mesages of support. He got the two CARE packages I sent. He is upbeat, tired and was very happy to get the 80 pounds of beef jerky I sent. (Just kidding about the 80 pounds. It was actually only 10 pounds.)

Personal news:
I wasn't going to blog this until I actually had my first introduction, but it's so good I have to share just a little bit. I am now OFFICIALLY a grandfather.
For those of you curious, Ashleigh Jordan, AJ to her friends, is a delightful 7 year old with a penchant for magic and the ability to collect large sums of money for the American Cancer Society. Her mother, my daughter, is fantastic. I'll elaborate when I return from Phoenix after Memorial Weekend. Yes, there is a road trip in my immediate future.
Of course, while I'm there, I will visit with some our friends, like Modern Conservatives' Chris Cook and a few others I have been electronically connected to. Should be a fun weekend in the Southwest.

Don't forget to drop by The Talon and read the latest from my buddy Rurick.
