So Exactly What Was Happning in San Francisco in the 1970's?

Princess Nan, ruler of the house of SanFran, purveyor of crocodile tears, mistress of the realm of Berkley, and a favorite of code oink, says she's "concerned" about the signs she saw in DC on Saturday, because she saw "anti-government rhetoric" which reminded her of "the late '70s in San Francisco" when "it created a climate in which violence took place."

Well, through the power and magic of the internet, (you think algore is sorry he invented this thing, yet?), I found this little tidbit:

What exactly is she referring to?
Nothing.
This is another Alinsky tactic.

It diverts attention away from the legitimate issue of ever increasing government intrusion and makes the people who are talking about it the villans. It creates an "I told you so moment" when someone from the extreme left initiates a violent confrontation with a member of the pro-liberty movement and the "wise ones" on high can look down on the pesants and "tsk tsk" and say "See, we told you this would create violence."

Lets get this straight: The ONLY people using violence are on the left.
Union thugs who beat up Townhall attendees;
The New Black Panther Party who use threats of violence to intimidate voters;
Muslim terrorists who kill innocents.

There was no violent anti-government rhetoric on any sign that I saw on Saturday.
I saw homemade signs expressing concerns about the direction our Nation is headed.
I saw Lyndon LaRouche people (LaRouche people have the same level of credibility as the New Black Panther Party) carrying signs with pictures of Obama with a Hitler-esque moustache.

In that you and your city have chosen to gravely insult the brave men and women, who have indeed bought you that right with their blood, I am informing you that my company will no longer do business with any of our current suppliers located in the Berkeley, California metro area.

In that my company is in international resort real estate development, and do business with and am associated with, developers and investors worldwide, I am informing all of my contacts, associates and patrons that we will no longer do any business of any sort with anyone living in the Berkeley area.

In that we,MDG Resorts are currently building a state of the art mega-yacht marina, all of the suppliers of Marina equipment, all owners of Yachts , all suppliers of Yacht materials & supplies, all yacht brokers and all tangential yacht business purveyors will likewise be informed that we will not do any business whatsoever with anyone from the Berkeley area.

Support the Semper Fi Act

Senators Introduce Semper Fi Act of 2008
Bill Stops Berkeley Earmarks and Transfers Funds to Marine Corps

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia), Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Oklahoma), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and David Vitter (R-Louisiana) introduced the Semper Fi Act of 2008. The bill would rescind over $2 million in hidden earmarks for Berkeley, California in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and transfer the funds to the Marine Corps. U.S. Congressman John Campbell (R-California) is introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives.

Last week, the City Council of Berkeley voted to oust Marine Corps recruiters from their downtown office, saying the Marines were "uninvited and unwelcome intruders." Berkeley officials also voted to give the radical protest group Code Pink space outside the recruitment office and urged them to "impede, passively or actively" the work of Marine Corps recruiters.

One earmark provides $243,000 in taxpayer dollars for the organization Chez Panisse to create gourmet organic school lunches in the Berkeley School District. Chez Panisse is dedicated to "environmental harmony" and their menu features "Comté cheese soufflé with mâche salad," "Meyer lemon éclairs with huckleberry coulis," and "Chicory salad with creamy anchovy vinaigrette and olive toast."

Another earmark would spend $975,000 in taxpayer dollars for the University of California in Berkeley Matsui Center for Politics and Public Service, to create a new endowment and cataloging the papers of Congressman Robert Matsui. U.C. Berkeley currently already has a $3.5 billion endowment.

Senator Inhofe: "Unfortunately, those on the Berkeley city council do not seem to understand the sacrifice of the brave men and women of the United States Marine Corps. By interfering with military recruiting, the city of Berkeley is hampering our ability to protect this nation. While the city of Berkeley and the protestors are free to say whatever they like, free speech is not a protection from consequence."

Senator DeMint: "Berkeley needs to learn that their actions have consequences. Patriotic American taxpayers won't sit quietly while Berkeley insults our brave Marines and tries to run them out of town. Berkeley City Council members have shown complete ingratitude to our military and their families, and the city doesn't deserve a single dime of special pet project handouts."

Senator Cornyn: "The Berkeley City Council insulted our troops and offended people across the country. If the U.S. Marines are not good enough for Berkeley, neither are taxpayer dollars Congress would have sent there this year. That city closed its doors on the same individuals taking bullets on the front lines while fighting for the safety and freedom of families in Berkeley and throughout America."

Senator Vitter: "The actions of the City Council of Berkeley are in stark contrast to beliefs of the vast majority of Americans who recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of our U.S. Marines. This is simply unacceptable and those funds could be better utilized by the Marine Corps."

Dr. Coburn: "The actions by the city of Berkeley are deplorable and insulting to those who are serving and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the very freedoms that are being exercised to insult them. I know I stand with the majority of Americans in thanking our service men and women for their selfless service to our nation."

Senator Chambliss: "We need to send a strong message that our military personnel deserve our strongest support. Georgia is a proud military state, and my constituents will be out outraged to know that during a time of war, their taxpayers dollars have been used to reward folks who have insulted and disparaged those who defend this nation every day."

Please work to rescind all federal funds going to Berkeley, CA this year even if they abjure their seditious positions. Should they realize the error of their ways, I would not oppose their receiving funding again in 2009.

Apparently the Berkeley Council is feeling the heat. They are planning to "moderate" the language of the letter telling the Marines that they are unwelcome. And they apologize to the families of service members. To the families? How about to the Marines themselves?

Screw Berkeley. Cut off ALL federal funds to the city and to the university and anything else related to that pest hole.

Carter cosponsors bills condemning actions taken against the U.S. Marines

Washington, DC – Representative John R. Carter (TX-31) today reaffirmed his commitment to our men and women in uniform by cosponsoring two bills condemning the actions taken by the City of Berkeley, California against the United States Marines.

The “Semper Fi Act” rescinds all funding contained in the Omnibus spending bill for the City of Berkeley, California and any entities located in Berkeley and transfers those funds to the Marines. This bill, introduced by Rep. John Campbell (CA-48), is in response to a recent Berkeley City Council vote to tell the Marines to close their recruiting station in the city. The second bill Carter cosponsored is a resolution reaffirming the commitment of the United States House of Representatives to the patriotic and professional men and women serving in the United States Marine Corps while condemning the City of Berkeley.

“I am both shocked and outraged that an American city would so blatantly turn their backs on our military men and women,” Rep. Carter said. “As we speak, these men and women are fighting and will continue to fight for the safety of all Americans, including those that live in Berkeley, California whether they appreciate it or not. I believe that any American city that refuses access to our nation’s military should also be willing to forgo any assistance from our government entirely. ”

During the meeting, the Berkeley City Council voted to give protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week. According to the City Council agenda, they “Encourage all people to avoid cooperation with the Marine Corps recruiting station, and applaud residents and organizations such as Code Pink, that may volunteer to impede, passively or actively, by nonviolent means, the work of any military recruiting office located in the City of Berkeley.”

Apparently Berkeley, California hates the Marine Corps and anything to do with patriotism. They are using GOVERNMENTAL POWER to harass the Marine recruiters in town. The hypocrisy of this action astounds me. It doesn't SURPRISE me. I thought that liberals, especially Californian liberals were all about CHOICE. I thought that liberals stated that they are against government oppression. They are even using government power to support treasonous organizations like Code Pink. Well, this gives the proof that underneath all of that "love", they truly ARE fascists.

City Calls Marines “Unwelcome Intruders”

SAN FRANCISCO – The City of Berkeley, California has passed two resolutions attacking the United States Marine Corps, calling the Marines, “uninvited and unwelcome intruders in the city.”

The Berkeley City Council voted to condemn the Marines on Tuesday night (January 29th) as part of a campaign by anti-war activists to shut down a U.S. Marine Recruiting Center located in the city of Berkeley.

The votes by the Berkeley City Council were immediately condemned by Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org), the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization.

“It is disgraceful that in the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement, anti-military activists would attempt to silence the same military men and women who serve this country and give their lives to protect the free speech rights of all Americans, including these ungrateful and despicable people on the Berkeley City Council,” said Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward.

The actions by the Berkeley City Council followed continuous protests by Code Pink and other anti-military organizations that vandalized and defaced the U.S. Marine Recruiting Center in September 2007.

One of the two resolutions passed by the Berkeley City Council last night granted a parking spot in front of the Marine Recruiting Center to be used by anti-military activists to harass Marine recruiters. The anti-military activists would not need to apply for a sound permit for the next six months – allowing them free reign to disrupt the day-to-day operations by the Marines.

Move America Forward organized a counter-protest in support of the Marines last October that attracted over 400 pro-troop supporters who stood in solidarity of the Marine Recruiting Center.

“We have hundreds of thousands of military men and women serving honorably overseas to protect our freedoms. Imagine how they feel when they go to turn on the news and see that they are being stabbed in the back by shameful people here at home, it’s disgraceful!” said Catherine Moy, Executive Director of Move America Forward.
