Remarks From Lt Col Murray on Moron's Comments

Last Tuesday after the State of the Union address, Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) told an international audience on the Arab television network Alhurra that the results of last November's election were because most Americans are racists who "don't want to be governed by an African-American . . ." This latest outburst, coming as we know all too well on a long history of Moran outbursts, is not only wildly inaccurate, it is un-American.

I do not support many of President Obama's policies because I do not think they are good for our country. To wit:

· I do not support "Obamacare," which despite what was promised does not cover everyone, will force many people to have to change coverage, piles on billions of dollars of additional debt and countless layers of bureaucracy, and robs one half trillion dollars from Medicare.

· I do not agree with President Obama's energy policies that keep us reliant on foreign oil by denying American companies the ability to produce energy (and thus creating jobs)here at home.

· I do not support President Obama's $850 billion "stimulus" package, pitched as the way to create jobs and keep unemployment under 8%. The only thing it seems to have stimulated was the unemployment rate, while piling on more debt that will eventually have to be paid for by our children and grandchildren.

· I disagree with President Obama's decision to cut Army and Marine Corps troop levels by almost 10% while we are fighting our nation's wars abroad.

The vast majority of Americans who voted for change in Nov 2010 did so because of these and other fact-based and policy-related reasons. But political views aside, as an American I am very proud that in 2008 we elected an African-American to be our President; in my view it reinforces our creed that all of us, regardless of race, gender or orientation are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe it is also a tangible reminder of how far we have progressed as a nation in which slavery was once an institution. We aren't perfect, but we have come a long way. Moran's rant, particularly given as it was to an international audience, dismisses this progress and casts us all back to our regrettable pre-14th Amendment past.

Over the years Northern Virginia and indeed most of America has become accustomed to Mr. Moran's mean-spirited verbiage and his aggressive behavior, including a pattern of making arguably anti-Semitic comments.

However with this latest statement Moran outdoes himself, going beyond insulting just one ethnic group or political party. His offensive comments as a sitting U.S. Congressman made to an international audience demean all Americans regardless of religion, political affiliation or ethnicity. It was a staggering lapse of judgment, divisive and un-American. Jim Moran should correct the record with Alhurra, and he owes an apology to his fellow countrymen and to this nation.

Welcome To the Massacre UPDATE

Looks like a blowout for conservatives. Grayson (Die Quickly) is gone; Col West has a good lead.

Virginia may have a majority conservative delegation to Congress. Rigell is pounding Nye. Boucher is gone. One Term Tom is gone gone gone, Connally's is to close to call right now.

Waiting to see if former Marine Chuck Smith can put Bobby out to pasture in the 3rd.
UPDATE--Unfortunately, Bobby Scott has managed to hold on.
Thats OK. Chuck Smith will make a good replacement for the EX-Marine Jim (I Don't Know Where My Pistol Is) Webb in 2012.

I just received a note that the hippies in Reston have re-elected the Moron in the 8th District. Another Senator-in-waiting to replace Markie-Mark in 4 years, or maybe we ask the Colonel to hook up with Chuck Smith and decide between them who does what.

Thank you to both of these veterans for fighting the good fight.
Neither of you is a loser tonight. Everything happens for a reason.
Apparently, God has other plans for you and needed you free to do whatever it is He needs.

Its STILL a great day to be an American and a Virginian.

I Have To Agree

Virginia Ballot Questions 2010:

Vote NO on 1, 2, and 3
by Rob Schilling on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 9:15am
On November 2, 2010 Virginians will be faced with several seemingly innocuous but fatally flawed ballot questions, primarily dealing with various facets of taxation in the Commonwealth.

At hand are three constitutional amendments, which appear on the ballot following a multi-stage approval by the Virginia General Assembly, as follows:

A constitutional amendment, as established in Section 1 of Article XII, can be proposed in either house of the Virginia General Assembly. If a proposed amendment is approved by a simple majority vote in one session of the state legislature, it is automatically referred to the next session of the state legislature that occurs after the next general election of members of the Virginia House of Delegates. If in that second session the proposed amendment is “agreed to by a majority of all the members elected to each house” it is then placed before the state’s voters. If approved by a simple majority vote, it becomes part of the state’s constitution.

Question 1 reads:

Shall Section 6 of Article X of the Constitution of Virginia be amended to authorize legislation that will permit localities to establish their own income or financial worth limitations for purposes of granting property tax relief for homeowners not less than 65 years of age or permanently and totally disabled?

Question 2 reads:

Shall the Constitution be amended to require the General Assembly to provide a real property tax exemption for the principal residence of a veteran, or his or her surviving spouse, if the veteran has a 100 percent service-connected, permanent, and total disability?

Questions 1 and 2 deal with real estate taxation. Helping veterans, disabled, and elderly people is a noble goal, as is tax reduction; the means by which the assistance will be granted, however, is insidious.

America’s founders recognized inherent peril in progressive taxation: a citizen exempt from paying taxes that his neighbor must pay, has no incentive in keeping the tax low because he, himself, does not pay the tax.

Alexander Hamilton warned against multi-tiered real estate taxation schemes in Federalist 35:

“No tax can be laid on land which will not affect the proprietor of millions of acres as well as the proprietor of a single acre. Every land-holder will therefore have a common interest to keep the taxes on land as low as possible; and common interest may always be reckoned upon as the surest bond of sympathy.”

The disastrous results of nearly a century of progressive income taxation can be seen in present day America where 47% of U.S. households paid no federal income tax in 2009. Those paying no tax actually have a vested interest in seeing rates raised for federal income-taxpayers, in order to maintain their own tax-free status.

Virginians would be unwise to allow their system of property taxation to emulate the federal model of progressive income taxation with its designated “winners and losers” and special “protected” classes.

By adding more exceptions to the rule, Virginia Ballot Questions 1 and 2 continue the erosion of “flat” (i.e., equitable) real estate taxation in the Commonwealth, ultimately to the detriment of maintaining Hamilton’s referenced common interests in private property rights and ownership.

Ballot Question 3 fundamentally enlarges state government at the expense of ordinary citizens and the overall state economy.

Question 3 reads:

Shall Section 8 of Article X of the Constitution of Virginia be amended to increase the permissible size of the Revenue Stabilization Fund (also known as the “rainy day fund”) from 10 percent to 15 percent of the Commonwealth’s average annual tax revenues derived from income and retail sales taxes for the preceding three fiscal years?

Increasing the allowable size of Virginia’s “rainy day fund” by 50% is a colossally bad idea. The state is not a bank, an investment, or a savings account; it should hold as little of the people’s money as is practical.

Funds retained by government are unavailable to the state’s economy and thus stifle economic activity both of businesses and individuals.

In addition, fattening the state’s “slush” fund encourages growth in the size and scope of state government, and it is a disincentive to vital cost cutting and budget reform/reduction measures.

Disappointingly, many known “conservatives” publicly are supporting some or all of these constitutional amendments— each of which was passed unanimously in both houses of the Virginia General Assembly. In reality, legislators will reap political gain and political power from the passage of the measures: this is another opportunity to buy votes and to curry favor from large constituencies, all in the name of providing assistance.

As an entire class, property owners are deserving of relief from crushing real estate taxation in Virginia, but such reprieve granted piecemeal is detrimental to property rights and to America’s common interest in limited government. There are better and more American-centric ways to assist veterans, disabled, and elderly people. And, growing the ability of the state to confiscate—and ultimately spend—greater sums will further saddle taxpaying Virginians and encumber Virginia’s struggling economy.

Don’t be fooled by seemingly sympathetic subjects. Progressive taxation and government largesse have not benefited America in the preceding century. The 2010 ballot questions are bad news for liberty loving Virginians, and if passed, they will result in greater state control over our everyday lives.

Virginia Ballot Questions 2010: Vote NO on 1, 2, and 3.

Dhimmi Unions and Foreign Money

Who’s really influencing the elections?
Jonathon M. Seidl
The Wall Street Journal has a report that says the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is spending $87.5 million this election season to re-elect Democrats.

But you’re supposed to overlook that and remember that the Chamber of Commerce, along with big business, is buying this election.

Redstate Morning Briefing

Armageddon: What Democrats Are Hiding & Why They Are Really Scared
Unions and Democrats are scared. They should be.

Very soon, Democrats and their union bosses' worst fears may soon be realized and, if they cannot continue their slight of hand, it may threaten their very existence. While it is true that Democrats and their union bosses are facing possibly debilitating losses on November 2nd, they are hiding the really bad news from voters until after November 2nd.

Do you remember that promise we heard back in 2008 about transparency? Democrats and, in particular, then-candidate Barack Obama stated emphatically that "transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency." What a joke that was. Well, it's time to shed some light on the house of cards that is about to come crashing down on Democrats' and union bosses' heads.

In June, a conversation took place in a hotel restaurant in Washington. As a latecomer to the conversation, it was easy to pick up that the topic that was the $165 billion union pension bailout bill introduced by Sen. Bob Casey [D-PA] in March.
Upon introductions, one of the individuals stated, "this is Armageddon."

Obama and Democrats lie about Citizens United and campaign money

...it is telling that this White House would invest so much energy on pushing an argument that is so fundamentally false on its face. It tells you something about their respect for the American people, their belief in the gullibility of the media, and their character.

Barack Obama and the Democrats have a story about this election. It goes like this. The Supreme Court ruled that corporations have free speech rights in the Supreme Court decision Citizens United. Since then, all this corporate money has flowed into campaigns, blah blah blah. And the press has completely accepted this line of thinking.

It is complete nonsense. They probably want to concoct a falsehood so that this election somehow is not about the White House. But the reality is that their core narrative is simply false on its face.

The Heartbreak of Palin Derangement Syndrome.
It's sad that this needs to be brought up, but it must: it would appear that the Netroots - as per their continuing habit of acting as if the American political system was identical to a pre-Giuliani Times Square peep show emporium - has gotten themselves in a bit of a scrape, again. Specifically, they spent several cheerful hours hooting and hollering over the way that THAT WOMAN suggested that the Tea Party not "party like it was 1773? before they noticed that. well, that the Boston Tea Party was in, well, 1773.
A couple of things: first, this storyboard; which is both cruel and accurate.
Second, while I understand and expect that your average online progressive blogger has about much awareness of American history as, say. Oh, this is awkward. An online progressive blogger would be the actual yardstick for 'abysmally ignorant about American history.' Nonetheless, while I understand that the Online Left is dumb. really, Gwen Ifill. You're supposed to be one of the bright talking heads.
Tsk, tsk.

Sign WND's Petition

The petition reads:

"Whereas, the House of Representatives and Senate of the United States of America reached a new low watermark in 2009 and 2010 in approving legislation in direct contravention of the U.S. Constitution, I, an American citizen eligible to vote in my state, do solemnly pledge the following:

  • "Refuse to vote for any congressional candidate, House or Senate, who supported the so-called "health-care reform package" approved in Congress;
  • "I will only consider voting for congressional candidates who pledge to overturn the unconstitutional health-care legislation;
  • "I will only consider voting for congressional candidates who vow to apply the strict test of constitutionality to all future legislation;
  • "I will enthusiastically support with my vote and financial support those congressional candidates who offer an aggressive legislative program for taking America back to its constitutional moorings in self-government and the rule of law."

Thomas Sowell

Opinion in Brief

"The corrupt manner in which this massive legislation was rammed through Congress, without any of the committee hearings or extended debates that most landmark legislation has had, has provided a roadmap for pushing through more such sweeping legislation in utter defiance of what the public wants.

Too many critics of the Obama administration have assumed that its arrogant disregard of the voting public will spell political suicide for Congressional Democrats and for the President himself. But that is far from certain.

True, President Obama's approval numbers in the polls have fallen below 50 percent, and that of Congress is down around 10 percent. But nobody votes for Congress as a whole, and the President will not be on the ballot until 2012.

They say that, in politics, overnight is a lifetime. Just last month, it was said that the election of Scott Brown to the Senate from Massachusetts doomed the health care bill. Now some of the same people are saying that passing the health care bill will doom the administration and the Democrats' control of Congress. As an old song said, 'It ain't necessarily so.'"

We Will Remember

PRUDEN: Now comes November

Now the real fun begins. President Obama and his Democratic legion, frightened with good cause, want the health care "reform" debate to be over and done with. "It's time to move on." Lots of luck with that.

"This," the president said, interrupting his undivided attention to a basketball game to celebrate the House vote, "is what change looks like." Alas, it's what an abortion looks like. What the president and the Democrats don't want to think about is that the public has already looked at this "change" and can't wait to punish a lot of somebodies for it.

The first rush of euphoria that greets a presidential legislative triumph has given way in record time to stark reality. Sobering up quickly was inevitable. This was a health care takeover by the government that nobody wanted and even in the Democratic majority nobody wanted to be seen voting for. Only a perverted sense of party loyalty carried the day. Nancy Pelosi's overheard remark to Steny Hoyer, the majority leader, as they walked into the Capitol said it all: "We've got to find at least one more than 216 votes because nobody wants to be blamed for casting the deciding vote."

The rest is here.

VA-02 News From the Candidates

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor Launch "Contract with Congress"Congressional Reform That Restores Trust in Government
VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA - 3/22/2010 -

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor, both Republican Congressional candidates in Virginia's Second District, have launched a partnership initiative of Congressional Reform called the "Contract on Congress."

"Republicans, Independents and Democrats are losing faith and trust in government," said Republican Congressional Candidate Ben Loyola. "Part of that is government's growth beyond what it can and should do effectively, but part of that is the Congressional perks and privilege that need to be reformed."

Republican Congressional Candidate Scott Taylor said, "This contract represents some of the true reform that is needed to ensure the future prosperity, character and livelihood of this nation. If we continue to elect cookie-cutter politicians, we will continue to get cookie-cutter results."

Both candidates hope that fellow Republicans will join the initiative and support the Contract.

These reforms include:

"No Taxpayer Propaganda Act"

In this age of free, electronic communications, television, radio, telephone and texting, the most outdated expense of Congress is the Frank, where taxpayers get expensive, multi-color mailpieces from politicians and taxpayers pay for every last one of them.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor propose ending the taxpayer funding of these expensive, multi-color political communications.

"End Congressional Pensions"

It's completely unfair to tax citizens who don't have wealthy pension plans to pay their Members of Congress to have them. Representatives serve by the will of the people, and rich retirement benefits defeats the purpose of a citizen legislature as designed by the Founders.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor pledge to put an end to rich pensions for the privileged in Congress. Members of Congress must live under the same types of retirement plans like 401K/403B that are regularly found in the private sector.

"Constitutional Supremacy"

America is the only country where power exists with the people, and through the Constitution the people loan this power to government to accomplish certain tasks. Too often bills pass in Congress with no basis in any reading of the Constitution. Any initiative in Washington should plainly show its Constitutional basis and justification.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor would favor the rule that each bill presented will explain its Constitutional basis.

"The Dozen before Dirty"

Incumbents rarely lose. Incumbents who serve more than six years almost never lose. Committees are controlled by incumbents in districts where they will never be replaced in an election. It breeds corruption.

A dozen years is enough for any representative. No Member of Congress should serve more than 12 years.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor pledge to propose a Constitutional Amendment to limit terms to 12 years and personally pledge not to serve more than 12 years.

"A Pork-Free Diet"

In these days of trillions of dollars of extreme debt and budget deficits that are routinely ignored by Congress, the earmark process must be reformed. Defense-related spending has a firm Constitutional basis, but earmarks for special projects that are beyond the purview of government that are simply used for political patronage and to "bring home bacon" for a district must end.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor pledge to introduce no earmarks and work for a ban on non-defense earmarks.

"No Pay for Overtime"

When was the last time Congress passed a budget on time? We don't know either. Instead, they pass "continuing resolutions" and "supplemental appropriations" that reward their inaction and usually get loaded up with perks and special interest favors.

Members of Congress should reimburse the Treasury for every working day the budget is not passed on time.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor will sponsor reforms where Members of Congress must reduce their salary for each day the budget is not passed on time.

"End Deficit Spending"

The federal government has been operating on deficit spending for decades, except for the few years during the Republican Revolution in the 90s. Today's deficits are unconscionable. Government can live within its means. It just doesn't want to.

We've got to stop excusing this deficit spending. No quarter should be asked or given. And Members of Congress should forfeit a quarter of their salary each year the budget is not in balance.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor pledge to propose a Constitutional Amendment to require a balanced federal budget.

"Public Option for Public Servants"

The worst kind of representation is the kind that forces citizens into systems that legislators would never accept. Any health care "public option" plan should require that each elected official be made to take the same option that they are prescribing for the people they represent.

Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor will require Members of Congress to forgo participation in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program if Congress passes a "public option" health care plan. They will have to enroll in the same public option they force upon citizens.

"Read Before You Vote"

You can't effectively represent the voters who sent you to Washington to vote on legislation when you haven't read it, but Congress does it all the time. Bills that are thousands of pages and amendments with pages in the hundreds can't possibly be read before it's time to vote.

Motions to waive reading of legislation pass with consistent success and Members of Congress pass omnibus bills and don't have a clue what's in them.

That's wrong.

Each bill should be read aloud before a quorum of each chamber, the House of Representatives and the Senate, and each member should swear that they've read each bill they vote on. Each bill should be online in sufficient time for interested Americans to read as well.
Ben Loyola and Scott Taylor pledge to read every bill they vote on and will listen to constituents who have comments, concerns and suggestions about legislation.

Scott Taylor is a candidate for the Republican nomination in Virginia's 2nd Congressional district. He is a small business owner in Virginia Beach, former Navy SEAL and Iraq-War Veteran. To learn more about Scott, please visit www.ScottTaylorforCongress.com

Open Letter to NM Republicans, WST-9/12 and Oathkeepers

We are writing to you to express our grave concerns about Adam Kokesh, who is aspiring to become the Republican nominee for US Congress from New Mexico’s 3rd district. Mr. Kokesh has an extensive, and well-documented history of affiliations with radical leftist groups. In concert with these groups he has engaged in numerous anti-America and anti-military demonstrations and protests. Moreover, Mr. Kokesh does not appear to have any personal qualifications that would recommend him for serious consideration as a candidate for the Republican Party. He has a significant history suggestive of poor character and judgment, and he has notable incidents of direct activism against Republican office holders.

Affiliations with radical leftist groups
Mr. Kokesh joined the Iraq Veterans Against War (IVAW) in February 2007, at which time he was 25 years old. The IVAW was formed by the Vietnam Veterans Against War (VVAW), the now infamous group, formed by John Kerry in 1970, and responsible for the fraudulent maligning of our Vietnam veterans at the Winter Soldier Conference in 1971. It will be recalled that John Kerry now stands exposed as having repeated false accusations from that conference, during Congressional testimony in 1971. Similar to the VVAW, the IVAW is a virulently anti-military, anti-America group. It holds the view that our country is an imperialistic and expansionistic “One World Order” government, and that our military is but a tool of this government. Further, they believe that our soldiers are little more than marauders and murderers who, in the words of John Kerry, behave “in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan”.

Mr. Kokesh was active in the IVAW from 2007 to 2009, at which time he announced his candidacy for Republican Congressman from New Mexico. There are no indications that he has revoked his affiliations with the IVAW. As an active member of the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh was involved in numerous anti-military, and by explicit extension, anti-Bush/Republican activities and actions. While executing these actions, Mr. Kokesh knowingly and gladly, made common cause with a wide array of other well-known, radical anti-America and communist groups. The list of these other groups includes, but is by no means limited to, the following:
SDS
Code Pink
A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition
United for Justice and Peace
Communist Party of America
Muslim Brotherhood
Black Panthers
In cooperation with the above-named groups and the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh: participated in multiple anti-war demonstrations in Washington DC, and other cites throughout the country; organized and incited violent demonstrations at military recruiting stations; participated in an initiative to encourage active duty soldiers to desert their military post; organized and participated in a Winter Soldier Conference 2, an effort designed to malign and undercut the moral of our soldiers who were fighting and dying on the battlefield. Even a most cursory search of the Internet will yield a plethora of documents attesting to the veracity of these assertions.

Personal character questions, and anti-Republican Party activities
Apart from his considerable radical leftist affiliations and activities, there many concerns about Mr. Kokesh’s general personal qualifications for congressman; and we have specific concerns about the appropriateness of his being considered for being a Republican congressman. Mr. Kokesh has no history of personal accomplishments or achievement, yet he does have a notable history of poor judgment and illegal behavior. Moreover, he has no history of supporting the Republican Party, and in fact has been actively unsupportive and undermining of the Party

Mr. Kokesh’s personal accomplishments and achievements appear to be limited to his having served in the Marine Corps from 1999 until 2006, and his political activism with the IVAW from 2007 until 2009. His MC service was basically unremarkable, in terms of citations, medals, and commendations, and it was ultimately marked by a demotion in his discharge rank, from Sergeant to Corporal, and a downgrading of his discharge status from honorable to general. Mr. Kokesh’s tenure with the IVAW has been noted above and need not be repeated here.

There are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has ever maintained any private sector employment, and unless otherwise proven, it might be assumed that his ‘work’ with the IVAW was financed through contributions to that organization, finances that often originated in leftist organizations such as MoveOn.org. Other than an undergraduate degree in Psychology, there are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has achieved any academic standing that might, given his young age and his otherwise lack of general accomplishments, recommend him for serious consideration for Congress.

There are numbers of incidents in Mr. Kokesh’s personal life that suggest that he employs poor judgment, and that he has trouble coping with stress. Examples of his poor judgment include the following: he smuggled a gun home from Iraq, and then was apprehended when he bought it onto a college campus; he has incited protestors to engage in violent actions against military recruiting stations, and; he incited unrest on a college campus by hanging racist poster around the campus, and signed the posters as being a member of the college conservative Republican organization.

Given the above, it is our position that Mr. Kokesh is in no way qualified to represent the Republican Party in Congress. In fact, if his history is any indicator of his future performance, it is most likely that he will behave in a manner that is antithetical to the positions and values of the Republican Party. In our view, a Kokesh candidacy will at best, precipitate much conflict within the Republican Party, and, at worst, invite derision from outside of the party.

Like you, we are interested in maintaining the integrity of the Republican Party. We understand that this is a time when the party leadership is striving to reconcile disparate ideas within the party, and to clarify its unified voice. A Kokesh candidacy would be completely at odds with those strivings and ideals.

We are urging the Republican Party to withhold any endorsement of a ‘Kokesh for Congress’ candidacy. We look forward to hearing from you.

It's Official-We Have A Good Man for VA-03

I have a unique perspective. I know this young man personally.

I can honestly say to you that Coby Dillard is the right choice to challenge Bobby Scott. VA-03 has been under dhimmi control for far too long. Scott votes the dhimmi party line consistently. Its time to take VA-03 back. Coby will be a voice for the people, not the party.

An excerpt from Coby's website is below. Here's the link. Go sign up and help begin the return to the Founders vision of America.

I believe that we must use every tool in our arsenal to keep our country’s enemies from our shores. I support electronic screening of calls and other forms of communication that originate/terminate in this country, so long as that tool is not used illegally on our own citizens.

To quote a good friend, “I believe that no one owes me anything just because I live and breathe.” I don’t support any system, program, or entitlement that gives preference to one over another.

People should succeed-and experience failure-on their own. I believe the government has provided me what they’re required to: protection of my life, liberty, and right to pursue happiness. They should provide nothing more.

I do not consider myself a staunch social conservative. I think abortion is terrible, but understand and could support it under a very few circumstances (namely, rape, incest and the inability to care for a child with extreme defects). I do not support it as a method of birth control or to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Believing all this, though, I also acknowledge the political reality that-for now-makes the right of choice the law of the land. With that, I choose to focus my efforts on increasing awareness of alternatives to abortion.

I believe that parents know where their child can get the best education, and should be allowed to choose the best school for their child. I believe that our children should be taught in the language of our country-English-and that they should be taught the concepts of citizenship, patriotism, and service to country. I support testing in schools to ensure that they perform up to government standards, and support the firing of substandard teachers/school administrators if their schools fail to meet those standards.

News From Former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor VA-02 Candidate

Congressman Trent Franks Endorses Scott Taylor for Congress
Virginia Beach, Virginia - 2/3/2010 -

Congressman Trent Franks(R-Arizona) has endorsed Scott Taylor for Congress. Congressman Franks sits on the Armed Services Committee with current Second Congressional incumbent Glenn Nye.

Congressman Duncan Hunter(R-California), who also sits on the Armed Services Committee, will be coming down to host a fundraiser for Scott Taylor this upcoming March 5th. He will be there alongside television star and retired SEAL Rudy Boesch. For more details please e-mail Bre@Scotttaylorforcongress.com .

We at the Scott Taylor for Congress campaign would like to take a little time to explain how ugly politics can get. We have been maliciously attacked several times in this campaign. We will stay true to our conservative message of fiscal responsibility, energy independence and strong national defense. We will never attack or defame any other candidate in such a loathsome and repulsive manner as has been done to us. The citizens of the Second Congressional District deserve better than nauseating gutter politics.

In spite of this negativity and constantly well-funded misinformation, we will stay positive and focused on the important issues that this district and our nation face. We will continue to do so with open ears and smiles on our faces.

Scott Taylor would be pleased to sit down one on one with anybody who would like to discuss any issues personally. Scott Taylor is a man of faith, a patriot, and dedicated to servant leadership.

Captain Matthew Burden Supports Marine Lt. for Congress

Marine Veteran Joins other Conservatives Looking to Challenge Long Time Democratic Strongholds and Ivory Tower Politics

Ilario Pantano: Candidate for Congress (NC-7)WILMINGTON, North Carolina, Jan 28---War veteran, author and businessman Ilario Pantano today formally announced his candidacy for North Carolina's 7th Congressional District. An independently minded Republican, Mr. Pantano is looking to challenge Rep. Mike McIntyre, a fourteen year incumbent in district held by Democrats for the last 100 years.

From Blackfive:

We've followed the trials and tribulations of USMC First Lieutenant Ilario Pantano for awhile here on BlackFive. We've supported him since the beginning (and had to fight some of our own to do so), and, now, Ilario is running for Congress in the Congressional District NC-7. The 7th District has not had a Republican since March 3, 1871!

Pantano and his family live in North Carolina where, since 2006, he continues to serve his community as a Deputy Sheriff.

2010 Elections Will Localize A National Problem

The expression "all politics is local" is moot for this election cycle. All of us need to not only work and promote local candidates, we need to identify those candidates in other states that have our Nations interests at heart and will abide by Constitutional limitations and make sure they get noticed.

This site will keep abreast of several out-of-state contests, including a state level race in Illinois for the 41st District, the 25th District of Texas, 22nd District of Florida, to name a few.

The outlook for the 3rd District of Virginia will be clearer next week. We will post what we are given by the people who know. I can tell you there will be a fight for this seat. Scott has had his last free ride.

The 2nd District of Virginia has someone running who comes highly recommended by people I respect. Scott Taylor deserves a look. Navy SEAL, businessman, activist.

FreeRepublic.com has a thread listing all the state elections.

GOP Will Repeal Healthcare Takeover

From The Weekly Standard Blog:
TPM reports:
With Democratic senators united on the health care bill today, their campaign arm has settled on an attack plan for 2010: Republicans would "repeal" it if they win control.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, aggressively challenging incumbent GOP senators and vying for open seats, will paint the Republicans as only interested in obstructing.

So, the Democrats' attack plan is to tell voters that the GOP will repeal the budget-busting, tax-hiking, Medicare-cutting, abortion-funding, big insurance and big pharma giveaway that only has the support of 35% of voters. Brilliant!!!!

Conservatives have been saying that if Obamacare passes Republicans should run on the platform of repealing this monstrosity. The Democrats really think it's a smart attack plan to send the same message?

Does this count as an in-kind contribution to Republican candidates?
