Could Someone Please Explain That Whole "Hope and Change" Thing Again?

Most Americans Say They’re Worse Off Under Obama, Poll Shows
and not just any old poll; nosirree, this is from Bloomberg

More than 50 percent of Americans say they are worse off now than they were two years ago when President Barack Obama took office, and two-thirds believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, a Bloomberg National Poll shows.

The survey, conducted Dec. 4-7, finds that 51 percent of respondents think their situation has deteriorated, compared with 35 percent who say they’re doing better. The balance isn’t sure. Americans have grown more downbeat about the country’s future in just the last couple of months, the poll shows. The pessimism cuts across political parties and age groups, and is common to both sexes.

The negative sentiment may cast a pall over the holiday shopping season, according to the poll. A plurality of those surveyed -- 46 percent -- expects to spend less this year than last; only 12 percent anticipate spending more. Holiday sales rose by just under a half percent last year after falling by almost 4 percent in 2008.

Aint Utopia just so cool.

We Will Remember

PRUDEN: Now comes November

Now the real fun begins. President Obama and his Democratic legion, frightened with good cause, want the health care "reform" debate to be over and done with. "It's time to move on." Lots of luck with that.

"This," the president said, interrupting his undivided attention to a basketball game to celebrate the House vote, "is what change looks like." Alas, it's what an abortion looks like. What the president and the Democrats don't want to think about is that the public has already looked at this "change" and can't wait to punish a lot of somebodies for it.

The first rush of euphoria that greets a presidential legislative triumph has given way in record time to stark reality. Sobering up quickly was inevitable. This was a health care takeover by the government that nobody wanted and even in the Democratic majority nobody wanted to be seen voting for. Only a perverted sense of party loyalty carried the day. Nancy Pelosi's overheard remark to Steny Hoyer, the majority leader, as they walked into the Capitol said it all: "We've got to find at least one more than 216 votes because nobody wants to be blamed for casting the deciding vote."

The rest is here.

I have decided to accept Hope and Change.

Good Citizens,

Today I bring to you a message of HOPE! Today, of all days, this message rings out with truth! I have decided to CHANGE! Over the past few weeks, I have pondered the message of the Democrats. Can so many be wrong? NO! If a majority of fellow Americans voted for Obama, they must know what is best for America. Millions of people have been injured by the depredations of greedy people. Obama's message of hope and change makes so many feel so much better. Those in the government are only here to help us. They will smoke out the truth. I don't feel the need to mirror their efforts. Those in power know better than us. They are so much more informed than us. If we just let the administration have their way with us; if we let Congress have their way with the country, we'll get so much. We have to relax, enjoy it, and think of the country. Let Congress and Obama do what they do so well. I have decided to go along to get along. That many people can't be wrong.

Please look at these links to see what I have found to convince me that Obama makes sense.
