ABC, NBC Won't Air Ad Critical of Obama's Health Care Plan

By Joshua Rhett Miller
FOXNews.com
Thursday, August 27, 2009

The refusal by ABC and NBC to run a national ad critical of President Obama's health care reform plan is raising questions from the group behind the spot -- particularly in light of ABC's health care special aired in prime time last June and hosted at the White House.

The 33-second ad by the League of American Voters, which features a neurosurgeon who warns that a government-run health care system will lead to the rationing of procedures and medicine, began airing two weeks ago on local affiliates of ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS. On a national level, however, ABC and NBC have refused to run the spot in its present form.

"It's a powerful ad," said Bob Adams, executive director of the League of American Voters, a national nonprofit group with 15,000 members who advocate individual liberty and government accountability. "It tells the truth and it really highlights one of the biggest vulnerabilities and problems with this proposed legislation, which is it rations health care and disproportionately will decimate the quality of health care for seniors."

Adams said the advertisement is running on local network affiliates in states like Louisiana, Arkansas, Maine and Pennsylvania. But although CBS has approved the ad for national distribution and talks are ongoing with FOX, NBC has questioned some of the ad's facts while ABC has labeled it "partisan."

No Wonder the Tea Parties Are Thriving

I once despaired of the American people. Right around November 2nd, 2008. At least 52% of them seemed to be idiotic and blind.

Apparently, the American people may be waking up after the recent shocks given to them by Congress and Obama.

57% would replace the ENTIRE Congress if given the choice. And the Republicans had better take notice of a certain fact:

While Democrats have become more supportive of the legislators, voters not affiliated with either major party have moved in the opposite direction. Today, 70% of those not affiliated with either major party would vote to replace all of the elected politicians in the House and Senate. That’s up from 62% last year.

Republicans, not surprisingly, overwhelmingly support replacing everyone in the Congress. Their views have not changed. But Republican voters are disenchanted with their team as much as the Congress itself: 69% of GOP Voters say Republicans in Congress are out of touch with the party base.

So, while a majority of voters may be unhappy with the Democratic Congress, the GOP does not get a free pass. 2010 is NOT going to be easy. Either the Republicans start acting and voting like the party they say they are OR the Democrats will win again in 2010. Conservatives will stay home because they won't see any difference between the parties.

When one is being guided down the path to hell, it doesn't matter whether your guide is walking slowly or fast. You are still being sent to hell in a handbasket. We need statesmen. NOT POLITICIANS.

A proper Ode to "the Lion of the Senate"

Theo Spark, a very talented blogger over in England, seems to see things in a clearer way than do many Americans: (excerpt, link added)

...He made it his life's work to seemingly do the opposite of what reason and rationality would dictate was good for this country. I will not miss him in the least. Besides, now we have the First Comrade Obama to take up his cause which seemed to be "hate America first"...then do everything possible to destroy it.

Earlier today I read this somewhere, and still have not decided if it is Irish haiku or poetic justice, but it sums up my feelings on the matter pretty clearly:

Posterity will ne'er survey
A nobler grave than this
Here lie the bones of Ted Kennedy
Stop traveller, and piss

Time To Ruffle a Few Feathers

This is a lengthy article but very insightful. None of what has happened to our economy is an accident. It was done on purpose, the left is keeping their words of Change. In four years we will no longer be a Representative Republic, unless we stop him not compromise with him.
Jesus didn't sit down with Satan in the wilderness and work out a deal. Jesus doesn't negotiate with evil and neither should we. You defeat evil ( Marxist, socialist, progressives, fascists, Islam and their tools) this has become never ending cycle with totalitarians for decades now. American either belongs to them or the Heirs of the US Constitution and Children of the Founders........Us!

Free Speech Might Not be So Free After All

Especially if you ruffle some marxist/jihadi feathers.

Looks as if Pat Dollard's website has been shut down, as well as all of Orly Taitzs' websites.

and then there's this little tidbit from CNET:

Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

The new version would allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and do what's necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for "cybersecurity professionals," and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license.

"I think the redraft, while improved, remains troubling due to its vagueness," said Larry Clinton, president of the Internet Security Alliance, which counts representatives of Verizon, Verisign, Nortel, and Carnegie Mellon University on its board. "It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is necessary over the private sector. Unless this is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill."

Representatives of other large Internet and telecommunications companies expressed concerns about the bill in a teleconference with Rockefeller's aides this week, but were not immediately available for interviews on Thursday.

Not a Cop; He's a Security Officer

TO: Fairfax County Public School Security Office
RE: Security Officer Behavior at 1st Amendment Protected Assembly

Your security officer was completely out of line and violated the attendees' 1st Amendment rights.

I suggest sensitivity training and a civics class.

His only justification for his behavior was HIS opinion of a sign being carried by the attendee.
Just because HE doesn't like it, doesn't give him the authority to prohibit the sign.

His final comment... "It aint no more" to the attendee's comment about this being America is frightening in its implications.

This most certainly IS America. We still have a Constitution. People are still free to speak their mind.

Earlier reports that Officer Wesley Cheeks Jr. is a police officer were in error. Further investigation has revealed Officer Cheeks is a member of the Fairfax County Public Schools' trained School Security Officer team. To contact the school's security force, e-mail Fred Ellis, the director of safety and security for Fairfax County Public Schools, or Jim McLain, the security coordinator.

WHITE HOUSE SUED OVER FREE SPEECH VIOLATIONS in healthcare battle:
Doctor & patient groups say White House intended to shut up opponents

Washington DC -- The Office of the President and other White House officials are defendants in a free speech lawsuit filed by a prominent physician group, and a non-profit advocate for inner-city poor.
The White House has “unlawfully collected information on political speech,” thereby illegally using the power of the White House to chill opposition to its plans for health care reform, according to the complaint filed in District Court for the District of Columbia, by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) and the Coalition for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) .
The lawsuit was prompted by the White House solicitation for the public to report any “fishy” comments to ‘flag@whitehouse.gov.’ Although the White House slightly revised its data collection procedure last week, the email address still exists, the illegal activity continues, and is part of an “unlawful pattern and practice to collect and maintain information” on the exercise of free speech, which “continues in violation of the Privacy Act and First Amendment even if the Defendants terminate a particular information-collection component due to negative publicity.”
The lawsuit outlines how the White House has employed a form of “bait-and-switch” tactic of accusing the Plaintiffs and other opponents of spreading misinformation about the Administration’s goals for health care reform, and thereby refusing to ‘come clean’ about its real agenda.
The lawsuit outlines that the White House knew that the data collection would chill free speech, and in fact, intended to do just that:
“43. As part of their effort to advance the White House healthcare reform agenda, Defendants have accused opponents (including Plaintiffs) of spreading misinformation on issues such as whether (a) health reform would provide public funding for abortions, (b) put “death panels” in place to deny care to the elderly or infirm, (c) amount to a government takeover of healthcare, and (d) increase healthcare costs..the Defendants and the administration have spread misinformation, semantics, and disinformation on these topics…..
“45. By denying and continuing to deny that healthcare reform legislation includes “death panels” that make individual life-or-death decisions on the elderly or infirm, the Defendants and the current administration have ignored and implicitly denied and continue to ignore and implicitly to deny both that their healthcare reform agenda involves rationing healthcare…”
“My hate mail started shortly after the White House issued the ‘fishy’ request,” said Kathryn Serkes, Director of Policy and Public Affairs for AAPS. “We were quite visible and vocal before then, so it doesn’t seem like a coincidence. Who did they share their data with? With whom might they share it?”
AAPS and CURE demand that the White House remove all information already collected, and further, be prohibited from collecting any personal data in the future.
NOTE: AAPS is a non-partisan professional association of physicians dedicated since 1943 to protection of the patient-physician relationship. CURE, founded by Star Parker, serves poor and inner-city communities through church, individual, and market-based solutions to poverty.
The case number is Civil Action No. 09-1621-EGS.

I'm Confused

The Anti-Christian Lawyers Union (ACLU) goes after people they claim are violating the 1st Amendment by praying in school.

How do private citizens violate the 1st Amendment? What are they guilty of?

The 1st Amendment says: "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of a religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Which part of that Amendment are private citizens violating?
They aren't Congress.
The 1st amendment applies to CONGRESS, not citizens.

Just wondering

Always Use The Conspiracy Card

The VRWC is back and plotting the destruction of a bill that would end private healthcare options for 10's of millions of Americans and give control of 20% of the nations economy to a central government run by un-elected, un-vetted militants with proven ties to Communist/Marxist organizations.

So says Zero on a talk-radio show. You think he might be a little paranoid, or just scared because the facts are available to all?

Washington Times has the story.

More on Cap and Tax

I posted the Heritage Foundation report earlier. This is a follow-up from Beacon Hill Institute and it combines both reports.

*NEW* How Would "Cap and Trade" Affect Virginia's Economy? -- August 2009

How would Virginia's economy be affected by the proposed "Cap and Trade" legislation? The Thomas Jefferson Institute has re-released into one package two new reports independently released by the Beacon Hill Institute (BHI) and the Heritage Foundation demonstrate the devastating impact.
The BHI study shows that by 2020 the carbon tax will cost Virginia more than $3 billion in increased energy costs, more than 65,000 in lost jobs, a loss of real disposable income of nearly $7 billion, annual investment decreases of $911 million and state and local government tax losses of more than $1 billion.
The Heritage Foundation analysis concludes that between the years 2012 & 2035, the proposal will on average lower the state’s gross state product by over $8 billion, reduce personal income by over $3 billion, eliminate over 26,000 jobs, raise electricity price more than $500 per household and gasoline prices by 64 cents per gallon.

This Is Really A No-Brainer

With Zero's and his Sugar Daddy Soros' sudden support of Brazil's Big Oil, (not OUR big oil) and with cap and tax right around the corner, we need to stay informed.

Why We Should Explore for Energy Offshore Now! -- April 2009
On February 19th, 2009, Governor Kaine asked the Federal government to delay oil and gas exploration off the Virginia coast. Attorney General Bob McDonnell and Lieutenant Governor Bolling, in separate letters to Interior Secretary Salazar explained why it is in the interest of Virginia and the United States to maintain the current exploration schedule, a position reflecting a large majority of Virginia and U.S. citizens. As this issue has become a political matter, the Thomas Jefferson Institute's Center for Environmental Stewardship has prepared this fact sheet and powerpoint briefing to ensure the debate is based on the best information available.

The Thomas Jefferson Institute is committed to sound science and careful analysis. In preparation of our original fact sheet on Virginia Off-shore Oil and Gas, the Institute made a computational error that our peer reviewers missed. An associate discovered it a few days later and that error has now been corrected. That revised fact sheet is now posted here, but despite the original computational error the important conclusion remains the same: There are significant oil and natural gas resources off our coast, and their development can not only help Virginia create new jobs but add to the state treasury.

No More Mr Nice Guy...I'm Done Being Nice

UPDATE FROM ONE NEWS NOW

One of three Florida school officials accused of violating a court order forbidding prayer in school has been exonerated.

Santa Rosa County School District clerical assistant Michelle Winkler has had her day and court and has come out victorious. Winkler was accused of violating a court order that banned school officials from participating in religious activities on campus before, during, and after school hours when she asked her husband who is not employed by the school district to offer prayer at an event.

Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver seems surprised why the matter even made it to court.
"And in fact in this case, Michelle Winkler was at an event after school at a Naval facility, off site, that was privately sponsored," he explains.

Staver, whose firm represented Winkler, says the American Civil Liberties Union told the media going into the hearing that they had a rock-solid case. But after seven-and-a-half hours, the judge found that Winkler was not in violation of the court order -- and that the court order was vague and did not specify as to what constituted a school-sponsored religious activity. As the Christian attorney puts it: "The wheels came off the ACLU's steamroller." Two other school officials facing similar charges – principal Frank Lay and athletic director Robert Freeman – are scheduled to have their day in court on September 17. Staver says the plan of action is to get these charges dropped as well and then go after the court order itself.

Well, justice and common sense do seem to exist.

If I were the judge tasked with hearing this case the ACLU (Anti-Chirstian Lawyers Union -Jihad With a Law Degree) has brought against the athletic director and the principal down in Florida, the first thing I would do is take off my robe, stand the ACLU lawyers up in the middle of the courtroom and commence a bitch-slapping session that would last until my arm was tired. I would then turn over the bitch-slapping to any interested party or parties.

I would then rule that the plantiffs and their lawyers must write 1,000,000 times, in long-hand, the following:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..." failure to do so will result in contempt charges and jail time.

It's time we put a stop to this crap. If your spiritual belief system does not involve sacrificing virgins or killing non-believers, you should be free to practise that belief system anywhere, anytime without interference from a bunch of over-paid, over-dressed, bottom-feeding lawyers with nothing better to do than harass citizens exercising their 1st Amendment rights.

There is NO, ZERO, ZIP, NADA law against praying. None. The so-called "seperation clause" was created out of thin air by self-proclaimed communists, for the express purpose of removing Judeo-Christian beliefs from public view.

And you ignorant, non-believing libtards, before you post a comment, be warned, I will ban anyone who even attempts to defend the ACLU. There wil be NO discussion on this post.

This is not open for debate.

A Trillion Here, A Trillion There...

and pretty soon, you're talking about serious money. (As former Senator Ernest Fritz Foghorn Leghorn "theres too much consumin' going on out there" Hollins once said, although he actually said "billion" back then.)
CORRECTION: I mistakenly combined the the idiotic statements of two senators. Although, this website has no verification that Dirksen ever actually said "a billion here a billion there..."

Thanks to a commenter for catching that....

So Zero's economists missed the projection by 2 trillion dollars. Well, hey, they're busy trying to stuff socialized medicine down our throats, run a car company, run banks, control how much money you can earn, find out how much the mid-level executives working for insurance companies earn and running a spam email campaign that is paid for by tax-payers, so you can't really expect them to catch every little nuanace now, can you?

Give 'em a break, for petes sake. These people have a country to ruin. They don't have time for details.

Why Are We In Afghanistan?

Last week, the nutroots held their annual convention somewhere in America. (Who really cares where? A bunch of losers whining about the country that gives them the freedom to whine.)

A video I saw had some idiot asking the question: "Why are we in Afghanistan?"

Well, pally, in case you missed this on the Communist News Network: (and these are just the ones we know about)

KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Making good on a threat of election day violence, the Taliban sliced off the index fingers of at least two people in Kandahar province, according to a vote monitoring group. After they cast their ballots, the fingers of Afghan voters are stained with ink to prevent them from voting multiple times. The fingers of the two women in Kandahar, a stronghold of the Taliban, were cut off because they voted, said Nader Naderi of the Free and Fair Election Foundation.

The Taliban had vowed to disrupt Thursday's election and the risk was too great for some Afghans to venture out, especially in the southern provinces that form the heartland of the radical Islamist group. Just days ahead of the election, U.S. Marines and other NATO forces carried out military operations to clear and hold sectors that have long been in the Taliban grip, and free up the population to vote. Sporadic attacks on election day killed 26 people and injured scores more.

Still, Afghan officials hailed the voting as a success.

So I have to wonder, if the nutroots are so adamant about freedom, womens rights, and voters' rights, why are they not, right now, at this very moment, packing their bags and heading to Kabul to put a stop to this? I also wonder would they have the cajones to go vote if they knew this was going to happen to them? I seriously doubt they would. They prefer to stay where it's safe, behind their laptops in Mama's basement, pounding out diatribe and drivel about the injustices perpetrated on the poor taliban. After all, the taliban are just Freedom Fighters, right? Like Che and Fidel? Trying to get their country back from the Yankee imperialists who want to impose freedom and democracy on everyone. Can't have none of that now, can we?

I knew it wouldn't be long before the nutjobs on the left began their anti-war/pro-terrorist crap again. They thought their boy Zero was going to end all wars, bring the troops home, shut down Gitmo and give every terrorist 40 acres and mule.

Impact of the Waxman–Markey Climate Change Legislation on Virginia

This paper, in its entirety, can be found at:
www.heritage.org/Research/EnergyandEnvironment/wm2585-VA.cfm

On June 26, a 1,427-page climate change bill introduced by Representatives Henry Waxman (D–CA) and Edward Markey (D–MA) passed the House by a narrow margin. The bill, also known as Waxman–Markey, includes a number of alarming provisions, chief among them a cap-and-trade program that would attempt to curb global warming by imposing strict upper limits on the emission of six greenhouse gases, with the primary emphasis on carbon dioxide (CO2).

The mechanism for capping these emissions requires emitters to acquire federally created permits (or “allowances”) for each ton of greenhouse gas emitted. Because these allowances carry a price—and because 85 percent of the United States’ energy needs come from carbon-emitting fossil fuels—Waxman–Markey is best described as a significant tax on energy use. Since everything Americans use and produce requires energy, the tax hits U.S. pocketbooks again and again. The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis forecasts severe consequences, including skyrocketing energy costs, millions of jobs lost, and falling household income and economic activity—all for negligible changes in the global temperature.

Workers and families in Virginia may be wondering how cap-and-trade legislation would affect their income, their jobs, and the cost of energy. Implementing Waxman–Markey would put a chokehold on Virginia’s economic potential, reducing gross state product by $14.75 billion in 2035.

Consumers would be hit hard. Between 2012 (when the restrictions first apply) and 2035 (the last year of this analysis), the prices of electricity and gasoline will rise sharply when compared to prices in a world without cap and trade. By 2035, Americans living in the state of Virginia will see their electricity prices rise by $1,031.73 and their gasoline prices rise by $1.31 per gallon solely because of Waxman–Markey.

The Waxman–Markey Effect
For the state of Virginia, over the 2012–2035 timeframe, on average the Waxman–Markey bill would:
• Lower gross state product by $8,762 million
• Reduce personal income by $3,247 million
• Destroy 26,604 jobs
• Raise electricity prices by $532.18 per household,
• Raise gasoline prices by $0.64 cents per gallon

Ground Truth from Montana

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered. I feel that since Bill and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.

On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than the date.

On about Tuesday Bill found out that they would be holding the “Town Hall” at the airport. (This is only because Bill knows EVERYONE at the airport) Our airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny town) in a very remote location. Nothing is around there. They chose to use a hangar that is the most remotely located hangar. You could not pick a more remote location, and you can not get to it easily. It is totally secluded from the public.

FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have held a large amount of folks with sufficient parking. (gymnasiums/auditoriums). All of which have chairs and tables, and would not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$$ During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in constantly. Airport employees could not believe how it just kept coming. Though it was our President coming several expressed how excessive it was, especially during a recession. $$$$$

Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets would be handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president would be arriving around 12:30 Friday.

Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However, 1500 were printed at a Local printing shop per White House request. Hmmmm......900 tickets just DISAPPEARED. This same morning someone called into the radio from the local UPS branch and said that THOUSANDS of Dollars of Lobster were shipped in for Obama. Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would have been really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of the Recession?? Just think...with all of the traveling the White House is doing.
$$$$$

One can only imagine what else we are paying for.

On Friday Bill and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The groups that wanted to protest Obama’s spending and healthcare had gotten a permit to protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be.

A large bus carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members drove up onto the area (illegal)and unloaded right there. It was quite a commotion and there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make trouble and start a fight. Police did get involved and arrested the one man but they said they did not have the manpower to remove the SEIU crowd.

The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were under the age of 30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and PROFESSIONALLY made signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and Planned Parenthood folks were with them.....professing abortion rights with their T-shirts and preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did have a permit to protest in ANOTHER area). Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd to avoid confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though SEIU kept coming over and walking through, continuing to be very intimidating and aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.

So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their homemade signs and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys, nurses, doctors you name it. There was even a guy from Texas who had been driving through. He found out about the occasion, went to the store, made a sign, and came to protest. If you are wondering about the press.....Well, all of the major networks were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were conveniently parked on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of these crowds were even visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew anything about the crowds. We did have some local news media around us from this state and Idaho. Speaking of the local media...they were invited. However, all questions were to be turned into the White House in advance of the event. Wouldn’t want anyone to have to think off the top of their head.

It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled by the White House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail to make it appear that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government healthcare. Even those people that talked about their insurance woes........the White House called our local HRDC (Human Resource and Development Committee) and asked for names.

Then the White House asked those folks to come. Smoke and mirrors...EVERYTHING was staged!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White House. The amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I was not living in the United States of America, more like the USSR!! I was physically nauseous. Bill and I have been around when Presidents or Heads of State visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very frightened for our country. America needs your prayers and your voices.

If you care about our country please get involved. Know the issues. And let Congress hear your voices again and again!! If they are willing to put forth so much effort to BULLY a small town one can only imagine what is going on in Washington DC. Scary!!

Gitmo Could Be Coming To A Town Near You

The residents of Standish, Mich. are facing a serious problem and it could potentially be a problem for the residents of this Commonwealth.

I've heard the arguements from some of the supporters of this, and I wonder how the short term benefits they claim they will receive will be viewed in the harsh reality of a terrorist attack if the terrorists are housed in the prison.

In Standish, Mich., site of a nearly vacant prison, residents are beginning to realize that the Obama Administration is serious about bringing terrorists to the United States, where they will quickly achieve the rights that should be reserved ONLY for Americans and those legally here.

Jennifer Granholm, the governor of Michigan, fears for her political life. She has been desperately seeking an alternative to the Obama plan, such as California or Pennsylvania sending prisoners to the Standish correctional facility. With recent news that California can’t afford to pay the costs of housing their inmates in Michigan, the governor is running out of ideas.

Fortunately, residents of Standish are starting to recognize that it isn’t worth the risk of bringing more than 230 of the most dangerous Islamic radicals in the world to a small town that could be potentially vulnerable. Not only will these Islamic extremists try to recruit from within the prison population, think of the undesirable elements that will come to town to be close to these murderous cut-throats.

Obama is trying to shove Gitmo on America without listening to the opposition from the American people, just like he did with the bailouts, the take-over of the auto industry, the trillion dollars of wasteful spending and now his health insurance bill that would lead to a complete federalization of medicine.

Too fast, no accountability, no communication with stakeholders, like the American people who might be under attack, and no consideration of the danger posed by these detainees. We can choose to put our own national security at risk, or we can continue to hold the terrorists at Gitmo, where an ideal facility has been built that abides by all international laws and is tailor-made for the purpose of housing these evil terrorists. The choice seems obvious: If it’s not BROKEN, don’t try to FIX IT!

The only reason Obama has for doing this is to appease his fringe left-wing constituency, which would like to see the terrorists go free, and to reassure weak-kneed European governments that America would rather be an appeaser than a strong leader.

Yes Virginia, Obama IS a Racist

Alexander's Essay – August 20, 2009
Media Blackout
"Equal and exact justice to all men..." --Thomas Jefferson
Editor's Note: PG suggested -- this essay contains graphic descriptions of a brutal crime.
In 1775, John Adams wrote, "There is in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong, a love of truth and a veneration of virtue ... if the people are capable of understanding, seeing and feeling the differences between true and false, right and wrong, virtue and vice..."
Adams understood that a shared penchant for justice and virtue is essential to liberty, and depends upon the ability of people to discern between right and wrong.
Today, it is evident to every astute social scientist (and most anyone with common sense) that among definable American subcultures the capacity for distinguishing between right and wrong is severely diminished.
The origin of these deteriorating standards for justice and virtue is rooted in the dissolution of the family, and the failure of our places of worship and our schools to instill those values necessary for self-government -- self-government being the foundation of family-government and that being the foundation of social responsibility.
U.S. urban centers, and to a lesser extent suburban and rural areas, are now home to generations of sociopaths who do not value your life, simply because they do not value their own.
Making matters worse, the MSM perpetuates a virtual blackout of news regarding select sociopaths, while trumpeting allegations and speculations of others. This results in a distorted popular understanding of the extent of the social degradation around us.

Three years ago (March 2006), the Leftmedia spent a year relentlessly convicting in the court of public opinion three white Duke University lacrosse players for a "hate crime" -- the alleged gang rape of a black woman named Crystal Gail Mangum. Millions of dollars in defense-lawyer fees later, it turns out that there was no evidence and that Mangum was a liar. The real victims were, in fact, the accused men: David Evans, Reade Seligmann and Colin Finnerty. (All charges were dropped, but there has been no apology yet from 88 Duke professors who jumped on the bandwagon, condemning Evans, Seligmann and Finnerty in an open letter before the first day of their trial.)

Four weeks ago, Barack Hussein Obama interrupted a live media propaganda confab promoting his administration's most critical national initiative (nationalizing health care) in order to accuse a white Cambridge, MA, police officer, James Crowley, of "acting stupidly" for arresting Obama's black friend, Henry Gates. That accusation was followed by similar knee-jerk pronouncements of racism by the black governor of Massachusetts and the black mayor of Cambridge. Under such heavy-handed political and media pressure, all charges against Gates were dropped.

The Gates' story dominated the national media headlines for a couple weeks, until it was determined that the officer's actions were, in fact, justified. Obama attempted to make amends by tossing back a few beers with the Gates and Crowley in the Rose Garden, but BO offered no public apology. (Narcissists do not apologize, they just reinterpret the facts.)

This week, there is a trial underway which is racially charged, but, unless you were reading The Patriot back in 2007, chances are you have not heard of this one since it involves a savage black-on-white crime, rather than MSM feeding frenzy accusations of white-on-black crimes.

Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

I am referring to the brutal torture, mutilation and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom by four black men in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In the event you were not a reader in '07, allow me to recount this horrendous incident ... because you won't see or hear it from any MSM news outlets.
On 6 January 2007, Channon (age 21) and Christopher (age 23) were out for a Saturday dinner date, after which Channon called her mom to report that they were on the way to visit friends. But Channon and Christopher never arrived at their friends' house -- nor returned home.
The next day, the mutilated and burned remains of Chris Newsom were found along a railroad track. Two days later, Channon's mutilated body was recovered from a trash bin.
Channon and Chris were in Channon's Toyota 4-Runner when they were carjacked. They were taken to a nearby house, brutally gang-raped, mutilated and then murdered. They were subjected to lengthy torture in each other's presence.

Newsom was raped, his genitals were cut off, and then taken to the railroad tracks where he was shot execution-style. The perpetrators soaked his body with an accelerant and burned his body.
Christian was kept alive for a while longer, repeatedly raped, mutilated, had cleaning solution poured down her throat in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence, and then stuffed inside a trash can where she suffocated to death.

This appalling attack is more than a case study in sociopathic evil. It is a case study about which stories the MSM headlines and which they do not. Yes, there are some 17,000 murders committed in the U.S. each year, but this double murder was clearly far more barbaric, far more monstrous, than most.

Regrettably, there is nothing new about the racial aspect of this story, which may explain why it was not national news. Although blacks represent just 12 percent of the U.S. population, black perpetrators are convicted by a jury of their peers in more than half of all murder and manslaughter cases. Additionally, per-capita black-on-white crime is far more prevalent than the inverse.

The underlying social factors contributing to such racially unbalanced crime statistics have been delineated by many conservative black leaders and academicians. However, their solutions -- most notably promoting family unity, faith-based programs, better schools and individual responsibility and accountability, contradict leftist political objectives, which seek to maintain black folks' status as wards of the state. (The modern Democrat implementation of a plantation system.)

The Accused

Charged in the torture/murder of Chanon and Christopher were Eric Boyd, Letalvis Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman.
In April 2008, Boyd was convicted in federal court of being an accessory after the fact, but the MSM was too busy fawning over the candidacy of Barack Obama to report that conviction. (Boyd's case is on appeal.)

"One down. Four to go," said Channon's father, Gary Christian.

He and Channon's mother, Deena have been present at all the proceedings. "We do this for Channon," said Deena. "We've been through the worst. We and the Newsoms have lost our children. We can endure anything."

This week, the trial of a second defendant, Letalvis Cobbins, is underway, but it's safe to say that the prosecution of this defendant will pass without a satellite news-link truck anywhere in sight.
I draw your attention to this case not only to mourn the murder of this young couple, but also to call attention to a despicable political double standard which includes the MSM's complicity in advancing that standard.

In 1998, three white men in Jasper, Texas, beat a black man, James Byrd, then chained him to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him three miles to his death. Not surprisingly, Byrd's murder received national media attention -- as it should.

Clearly, hate was a motivating factor in the Jasper case, but it was also a motivating factor in Knoxville, though not a "hate crime" as defined by federal law. So, why do white-on-black hate crimes invariably result in a media feeding frenzy, while black-on-white hate crimes receive nary a mention?

What about the double standard when it comes to race-hustling poverty pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (who fabricated the Tawana Brawley rape hoax)? The only difference in racists such as Jackson and Sharpton and those in the KKK is that the latter are not Leftmedia celebs.

To that end, my colleague Walter Williams posited this query: "What have we heard from the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others who rushed to judgment and outrage as they condemned whites in the cases of the 'Jena 6' and Don Imus when he referred to the Rutgers ladies basketball team as 'nappy-headed ho's'? Where were the national news media and public officials? You can bet the rent money that, were the victims black and the perpetrators white, Knoxville would have been inundated with TV crews, with Jackson, Sharpton and other civil rights spokesmen and politicians from both parties condemning racism, possibly blaming it all on George Bush..."

As for the defendants in this case, Knox County has already paid in excess of $350 thousand to prosecute and defend these monsters. Based on the eyewitness account of defendant Vanessa Coleman, the question before Cobbins' jury, and those yet to be empanelled for the other defendants, is not one of guilt or innocence, but guilty of what charges.

Those found guilty will be treated to either life imprisonment, with all entitlements, or life on death row for maybe a couple decades -- all at a cost to taxpayers of more than $100 thousand per year per convict.

Martin Luther King, in his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail, proclaimed, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
The MSM blackout of this crime is a grave injustice.
To the families and friends of Channon and Christopher, we share your grief and will continue this vigil with you until justice is served.
Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis!

Heritage Morning Bell

“By Any Legislative Means Necessary”
The American people do not like President Barack Obama’s health care plan. According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll 42% of Americans “think his plan is a bad idea” compared to only 36% who think it is a good idea. 40% of Americans believe Obama’s health care plan “will result in the quality of your health care getting worse” compared to 24% who believe their care will get better. And 47% of Americans oppose “creating a public health care plan administered by the federal government” compared to only 43% who support it.

Facing this cratering of public support, the left in Congress is now considering abandoning moderates and independents to pass their narrow partisan ideal of health reform. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid spokesman Jim Manley promised yesterday that Democrats will pass Obamacare “by any legislative means necessary.”

What exactly does Senator Reid mean by ‘any legislative means necessary’? The Wall Street Journal explains: “Most legislation in the Senate requires 60 votes to overcome a filibuster, but certain budget-related measures can pass with 51 votes through a parliamentary maneuver called reconciliation.” The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 created reconciliation, but Congress didn’t really use it until the 1980s. In 1993, President Bill Clinton tried to use the rule to press his health care plan through the Senate, but Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) resisted, introducing the Byrd Rule which allows any Senator to strike specific provisions or amendments from legislation if a 60 vote Senate majority agrees that the item is “extraneous” to the budget. At the time Byrd specifically argued that health care was out of bounds for a process that was intended to only apply to budgets.

But Democrats in Congress are undeterred by history, precedent, and public opinion. They are now planning to split the bill into two parts: one bill with budget-related matters and another bill with policy changes such as the insurance market reforms. They even are prepared to argue that the core of the left’s health care vision: a government-run health care plan can be considered a budget related item. The WSJ reports: “Democratic leaders have concluded they can pack more of their health overhaul plans under this procedure, congressional aides said. They might even be able to include a public insurance plan to compete with private insurers, a key demand of the party’s liberal wing.”

The American people are already sick and tired of 1,000 page bills and strong arm legislative tactics. A new Gallup poll shows that 82% of Republicans and even 40% of Democrats disapprove of the job Congress is doing. Even more troubling for the “by any means necessary” crowd is that 70% of independents share a negative view of the House and Senate. Finally, a new Pew poll shows that for the first time since President Barack Obama took office the percentage of Americans who hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party has slipped below 50%. How will independents feel about liberals in Congress if they pass a health plan that 40% of Americans believe “will result in the quality of your health care getting worse”?

SFC Jared Monti Memorial Scholarship Fund

As most of you know, SFC Monti is the newest recipient of the Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, as with all of the previous awards of the nation's highest honor for bravery in both Iraq and Afghanistan, it was a posthumous award.
SFC Monti's family has chosen to honor their son and his legacy by creating a scholarship fund for local high school students to attend college. There is no finer way to honor Jared Monti's life and accomplishments and to keep his memory and the memory of what he sacrificed for this country alive than to help worthy young people who may not otherwise have the opportunity continue their education.
In an outstanding display of bi-partisanship, Pundit Review's Kevin Whalen has teamed up with a progressive blog, Blue Mass Group, to help raise money for the fund. Both blogs, who would agree on very little politically, have put that aside and are working together to honor a local hero and raise scholarship funds.
A tip of the hat to both blogs for their commitment to this very worthy cause.
You can go to Kevin's blog and hit the donation button or go to the fund's site to do so.
If you prefer to send a check you can send it to:
"Jared C. Monti Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc."c/o Bristol County Savings Bank
108 N. Main Street
Raynham, MA 02767.
Tax ID# EIN 56-2599231
Thanks to the Blackfive community in advance for honoring this fine warrior's memory and contributing to his legacy. And if you have a blog, help out and spread the word.

Don't Forget This Friday at Southside Speedway

This Friday at Southside Speedway is Military Appreciation Night. I'm seriously going to try to make it out there, and spread the word on Warrior Legacy Foundation.

If you listen to 93.1 The Wolf, you could possibly win tickets, and I think a few other radio stations run the same promo.

Southside Speedway has been in continuous operation for 50 years and is billed as the toughest short track in the South. It gave Denny Hamlin his start. I'm old school when it comes to racing. I still remember RIR as a 1/2 mile dirt and saw Fireball Roberts, Lee Petty, Bobby Allison just to name a few.

So if you need a different type of Friday night entertainment, come on out to Southside Speedway and help them honor our military.

"Do Unto Liberals as They Have Done...

and continue to do, to us"

LtCol Allen West USA
Combat Veteran
Congressional Candidate for FLA-22

Concerned American citizens are being called Nazi’s, evilmongers, racists, tea bagging rednecks, and right wing extremists. They have been accused of organized protest and even had an email set up, flag@whitehouse.gov, which enables their “fishy behavior” to be reported. And there have been Americans who received unsolicited emails from David Axelrod with the White House letterhead to their private email accounts. Three of my friends have received such.

We are witnessing something really disturbing in America. At issue is not the reaction of concerned American citizens but rather the response from the Democrats, liberal media, and the DNC. It seems they are resorting to their normal Saul Alinsky “Rules for Radicals” tactics; Rule #5, "Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon."

They are lowering themselves to calling American’s a mob and trying to depict concerned American’s as sore losers. What they fail to realize is that in America we live in a Republic where we respect the rule of law, not being ruled. We have a Constitution which affords its citizens rights such as free speech, freedom of expression, and freedom to petition the government.

It is amazing to me that when the opposition to President Obama’s questionable policies expresses their dissent they are demeaned. When I flip over to CNN and MSNBC, not often but to understand what the opposition thinks, I find that they don’t think. They only seek to create a racial confrontation by fomenting the belief that white American’s refuse to accept a black POTUS.

What the liberal socialists had best recognize is that their venom is no longer effective, we are anesthetized to their bite. Seems we found anti-venom and we all have been injected to produce anti-bodies. We are not going to back down.

As well, the DNCs running of insidious advertisements and the White House created “Great American Snitch” program only indicate desperation.

One must find it comical that the same folks who brought you the professional community organizer President are attacking citizens organizing. We have seen anti-war protests by Code Pink, PETA tossing blood on individuals, left wing enviro-terrorist groups attacking SUV dealerships, ACORN and SEIU protests, and even voter intimidation at polling stations (New Black Panther Party, Philadelphia). Yet, concerned American citizens are called extremists?

President George W Bush was constantly attacked from his inauguration in Jan 2001 to the day he departed office Jan 20, 2009. Dare you speak of the anointed one? You are a racist.

Left wing blogs attacked Governor Sarah Palin and made allegations that her young Son Trig is not hers. But when the opposition questions the birth certificate authenticity of President Obama they are referred to in derision as “birthers”.

Left wing news media attacked former First Lady Laura Bush reference a traffic accident when she was a teenager. No one is questioning the law license inactive status of First Lady Michele Obama. And what is up with (22) staffers for the First Lady Michelle? The Bush twins were regularly part of media attacks, dare no one speak of the Obama daughters who attend wonderful Sidwell Friends School. This is an exclusive school where it is not possible for other children in DC, who are just a little less fortunate but qualified, to attend thanks to their Dad’s decision.

What is happening is that some of us read the book “Rules for Radicals” and we are turning the table on the liberals. Here are some examples;

Rule 1: “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have”
In other words "Power Perceived is Power Achieved"

Rule 3: “Wherever possible go outside of the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat”

Rule 4: “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this……”

Rule 8: “Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions……”

Rule 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself”

Rule 11: “If you push a negative hard enough and deep enough it will break through into its counterside”

Rule 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”

It seems to me that the liberals are great at dishing it out but intolerant of taking a punch.

As for me, well, I am above the name calling. I would never say President Barack Hussein Obama is a thin skinned, inept, malignant narcissist. It is beneath me to call Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid a weak spineless wimp. It is unconscionable to refer to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as a maniacal pathological liar.

However, my opponent Congressman Ron Klein, well, does remind me of the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz….before the Wizard gave him courage.

As a 22 year US Army combat Veteran I can smell fear, and the left wing liberals are showing it.

My admonition, be like a shark which senses blood in the water and attack. The left truly felt that since they won, we would lie down and not fight back against their dangerous agenda, wrong!

I will say what may not be politically correct but the future and legacy of our Country is at stake. Get out there and live by the new Golden Rule, “Do Unto Liberals as they Have Done to You”….and watch them crack.

Steadfast and Loyal!

Thoughts on Liberty 101

That my blog partner couldn't find the time to attend.

....amidst the disparagement of grassroots efforts to push back on healthcare reform as currently envisioned in Congress, the former-community-organizer himself, President Obama, has tried to gin up grassroots workers who will pressure lawmakers into passing a massive healthcare overhaul. Contrast the “labor of love” work of my local compatriots to recent Craigslist advertisements to pay $15 per hour to “volunteers” to work to pass Obama's Healthcare Plan. Quite a difference in commitment, wouldn’t you agree? Real grassroots is “money-poor and people-rich” according to Wikipedia.
Hmmmm.....

I’ve been calling and writing to my representatives for nearly ten years. Yeah, a real time-waster, I know. Until this year, I had never marched in the vicinity of a legislator’s office, but I’ve now done so three times. I still haven’t carried a handmade sign! But I really do admire the creativity of my grassroots colleagues. Individuals around this great land have spoken up to our government leaders and found themselves thrust into the spotlight. So many of them have faced cameras and questions from all types of media and held their own in the debate. I have been enormously impressed by their courage and their passion. I don’t care much about the limelight, but I am going to keep working on the grassroots projects I’ve committed to.

No one has to pay me; it’s a labor of love.

Beware the Counter-revolution

Beware the Counterrevolution
By Andrew Thomas

The left is already telegraphing its strategy to discredit the town hall movement. Conservatives must wise up and use a little jiujitsu of our own.

It is important to note from the start that the struggle between liberty and socialism will never end, at least not in our lifetimes. If by chance it does, it will be because evil has triumphed. As long as people are free to make their own choices, some of those choices will always be for self-destruction or slavery (moral masochism). That is just the nature of human beings. However, once the slavery of socialism is self-imposed through trickery or stealth, there are no more choices. That is the weakness of a free people. The weakness of socialism is that it cannot be revealed for what it truly is until it is too late to stop it. Like all things evil, it cannot stand the light of day.

The reason I say that the struggle will never end is that no matter how many times it is beaten back, the socialist left keeps returning. It is relentless. When their evil intent is revealed, the leftists retreat and then re-package it in different wrapping paper. Socialized medicine becomes Hillarycare becomes ObamaCare. (becomes health insurance reform) Healthcare is a right for everyone, they say. Who would dare oppose that? Environmentalism becomes global warming becomes climate change. Who could be against saving the planet? The weakness of a free people is exploited.

The problem for these strategies is that once people have had a chance to examine the packages, they are discovering that they are Trojan horses. They do not save the planet nor provide quality healthcare for all Americans. Their sole purpose is to dramatically expand the power of the government over its citizens, providing the potential for complete enslavement.

Americans are finally waking up to this fact, albeit almost too late. They are angry. They have been misled. Surprising the socialist left with their ferocity, they are storming into town hall meetings and confronting their dishonest legislative representatives. Hypocrisy is being exposed. We have taken the high ground and are on the offensive. Is it time to high-five each other and celebrate our victory?

Au contraire, mon frère (as George Carlin would say). We are facing the most ruthless and power-hungry government in American history. They have the most effective and dedicated propaganda arm the world has ever known, i.e. the misnomered "mainstream" media. They are changing the face of America surreptitiously through an unelected and completely uncontrolled group of leftist radicals (including an avowed Communist) known as "Czars".

Congress has been relegated to the status of "useful idiots". The government commands the powerful thuggish shadow armies of ACORN and SEIU, with the intent of forcibly drafting millions of our kids, brainwashing them, and inducting them into a third shadow army, AmeriCorps.

Do you really believe that the next elections in 2010 and particularly 2012 will be the solution to the current socialist infestation? Do you think that people who are as addicted to power as Obama, Emmanuel, and Axelrod will passively accept their ouster in a fair general election? After fighting the good fight, will they gracefully withdraw from power?

This administration currently controls the census, which can initiate creation of additional congressional districts in liberal areas of the country based on their populations as counted by leftist community organizers. The left dominates election committees and polling volunteers. If they decide to sabotage voting machines or vote tabulation software or servers, who will provide the oversight to prevent them from doing so? They run the largest organized voter fraud organization in the world (except for perhaps Iran) a.k.a. ACORN.

Who knows what "October surprises" they have planned? Will we see the New Black Panther Party more actively menacing voters at the polls, since the Obama administration refuses to prosecute this voter intimidation?

Leftists do not see election fraud or other dirty tactics as illegal, immoral, or unethical. This is because the socialist agenda is for the good of the nation, a noble cause to promote and protect at any cost. In other words, the ends justify the means. In the final analysis, it is difficult to predict what they are capable of.

No its not. We've seen them trash recruitment centers and vandalize memorials. Expect the absolute worst behavior. They are quite capable of extreme violent behavior.

The rules don't apply to them. We can only study the actions of other socialist leaders such as Lenin, Stalin, Castro, and Chavez, and make assumptions.

Not so confident now, are you? In reading the comments sections of American Thinker and other conservative websites, you can observe that the anger of the commenters is palpable and rising. People feel trapped and threatened. The natural temptation to turn to violence must be resisted.

Violence is the very tactic that the left is prepared for. The Southern Poverty Law Center released a report several days ago indicating that right-wing militias and hate groups are on the rise and threatening insurrection.

This is essentially a recycled article that is trotted out by the SPLC with each new presidential administration, citing many of the same tired anecdotal examples such as Ruby Ridge and Waco's Branch Davidians as evidence of growing violence. The only thing new in the piece is blaming the supposed increase in extremist activity on alleged racism toward a black president. No evidence to support this contention was presented, however.

Nonetheless, many news outlets, including Associated Press and CBS News, picked up the story and sensationalized it. A quote from the article states, "All it's lacking is a spark". All that is missing in this leftist wishful fantasy is another Timothy McVeigh. If he doesn't show up on his own, someone may create him. They would love nothing better than capturing a group of violent "right-wing crazies" on video committing some atrocity.

However it's done, the entire right side of the political spectrum will be implicated, tarred with the same brush. The goal will be to shut down all dissent through intimidation, justified by righteously proclaiming a war on domestic terrorism.

Conservative conversation will be squelched as "hate speech". Talk radio, internet blogs, Fox News commentators, Tea Parties, and any other conservative outlets of communication or assembly will be forcibly eliminated under the guise of protecting public safety. The "mainstream" media will joyfully cooperate in this endeavor, and anyone identified as a conservative politician will be vilified and transformed into an instant pariah. Game over, they win.

What is the answer? I like to use the karate analogy. There are two styles of karate, hard and soft. Hard karate is employed by the more powerful fighter, using his size and strength like a bull to overwhelm his opponent. In soft karate, the fighter uses the opponent's size and strength against him. It is more stealthy and graceful. It is the matador. The opponent is defeated by finesse rather than brute force.

We need to study the weaknesses of our opponents, and capitalize on their mistakes (and there are currently many). The Obama administration is tripped up when they accidentally reveal their true agenda. These mistakes need to be "picked, frozen, and personalized" (Alinsky's rule #12).

Another example is the "Obama Joker" poster that mysteriously appeared around LA and elsewhere. It was a very clever and creative means of passive resistance that delivered a powerful message. Although, as Sonia Sotomayor says, I don't endorse this tactic.

That's great, you may say, but there's really no way I can personally apply the soft karate method to the fight against American socialism. Again, au contraire, mon frère.

There is a golden opportunity rapidly approaching for us to peacefully assemble in massive numbers and demonstrate our resolve to oppose the pure evil of socialist enslavement.

It is the 09.12.09 March on Washington. This is perfect timing, as the Senate will potentially be voting on Obamacare later in September. In a truly Orwellian move, Obama is scheduled to make a major announcement concerning expansion of AmeriCorps on September 11. (unconfirmed)

I will be there, and I hope to see thousands of other American Thinker fans there, as well.

America's Wounded Heros

and Warrior Legacy Foundation teamed up Saturday to feed some deserving young men and women. We had a great time cooking for these Warriors. I'm not a cook and I don't play one on TV, but I know the sense of accomplishment when they come back for seconds and there's nothing left to eat.

They ate all my Italian sausage and all my fried squash. Damn, Son...my grandmother is beaming right now, cause that's who taught me how to cook squash.

HR 3200 Taxpayer Funded Abortions

We all gasped when the federal government seized control of General Motors, and Obama effectively fired the Chairman and replaced the board with government bureaucrats selected by Treasury Secretary Geithner. Now Obama and his liberal Democratic House allies want to replace your doctors with bureaucrats, hasten grandma's demise, abort and kill children in urban neighborhoods, cut doctors' pay and control their religion, and transform Christian hospitals into government-controlled atheist bureaucracies. Does any of this remind you of Communism?

Last week several so-called "pro-life Democrats" executed a bait and switch that will fully fund abortion on demand in the new Obamacare "health" bill.

Led by compromiser and ex-pro-life Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), who was recently booted as an advisor to Democrats for Life of America for his lack of principle, the liberal House Democrats overruled conservative Republicans 30-28 to pass the hideous "Capps Amendment" to H.R.3200 in the Energy and Commerce Committee. This amendment now deceptively creates a phony accounting scheme that gives the false impression your tax-payer dollars will not subsidize abortion, while it simultaneously nationalizes free abortions for low-income urban neighborhoods, fulfilling the dream of Margaret Sanger (and her protege Ruth Bader Ginsburg) that African American babies will be the first exterminated in the government funded ovens that weed out "Populations that we don't want to have too many of."

Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) explained the Capps Amendment: "It's one of the most deceptive amendments I have ever seen. The bottom line is that money is fungible, and the plan itself will be subsidizing abortion-on-demand, with taxpayer funding commingled, and the numbers of abortions will go up significantly."

I'm sorry. Your operation is on hold. Your DNC dues haven't been paid yet.

Update: If ACORN was in charge of your Health Care, pray that you're not an Obama critic (Flag@ whitehouse.gov you know that there's a list somewhere)... ACORN THUG ATTACKS CRIPPLED WOMAN.

The Left always attacks its critics. Always.

From the Clinton machine to Obama's minions, the left has attacked every critic. Pelosi calls concerned citizens, many of them democrats, nazis. The administration tells its people to "punch back twice as hard." This is against private, albeit loosely organized, citizens. Joe the Plumber was investigated and his private information used against him. The press pilloried him for daring to question "the One." Do you think Gov. Palin would have had so much trouble if she had never left Alaska, or hadn't attracted so much support? Now, private citizens are getting calls and emails for questioning and contradicting their representatives in public. Many have gotten threats to their lives. Katy Abrams dared to question Arlen Spector and her family is now getting threats. Kenneth Gladney was beaten by SEIU thugs for daring to be a conservative black man.

Do you really think that, under a Progressive government, who you know and what you say won't be held against you? Who invented anti-2nd Amendment political correctness? Who invented the idea of hate crimes and hate speech? And, of course, we always hear that "right wing" talk is "hate speech," thereby making conservative talk or thought a crime, if taken seriously.

Now, picture these same tyrants in charge of your health care......

Who did you vote for? Are you a union member? Do you support the unions? Are you a member of the right ethnic group? Which candidate did you send money to? Have you sent your donation to the DNC?

These questions, or similar ones, could appear on your standard medical questionnaire.

Tell me that's not a possibility with what you've seen this administration do. Tell me that, with what you've seen appear on the census, this couldn't happen. Tell me, with the incorporation of ACORN, etc, into the government, that this wouldn't matter.

Let's hope that you are right.

But it would be safer if we just don't have government run health care.

As "Global Warming" is to energy control, Obama Care is to personal control

Tired of the food police telling you, "STEP AWAY FROM THAT DONUT!"?
Tired of the smoking police finding more and more places, including outside and private homes, forbidding the enjoyment of a lawful product?
Tired of the transfat police taking away the flavor?
"Eat no meat!" "Eat no fat!" "Eat no lean!" "Too much Carbs!" Not enough carbs!"
Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! Except, of course, for those dangerous activities like bicycling! Wear your helmet! Don't forget the body armor!

And, of course, everyone's favorite: "Wear your freaking seatbelts, even if you're sitting in a parked car!"

Ok, ok. I understand safety. And no one rides in my car without seatbelts, because I feel that they are a good idea.

But wait until Obama Care takes over. Then the government will be allowed to intrude into EVERY part of your life. Own a gun? Too dangerous. No health care for you. Smoke? Sorry, gonna die. Oh, and your kids are forfeit. You think this won't happen. Google Great Britain's horror stories of how the NHS intrudes into every facet of their subjects lives. All because its the taxpayer paying for the health care.

Health care is the key to controlling EVERYTHING.

Government run health care by the IRS. Free Health Care?

That's right. The INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. Both the House and Senate want you to give the IRS information about any medical services that you use.
Under both the House and Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee bills released to the public, the Internal Revenue Service will play a key role in monitoring and enforcing health care mandates against individual taxpayers. Yet the introduction of the IRS into the health care system has received scant attention.

The Senate bill imposes a new requirement that all persons who provide health care coverage to others must file a return with the IRS listing the names, addresses, social security numbers, and the coverage period for each person, and "such other information as the Secretary [of Health and Human Services] may prescribe.
So, apparently, since I'm unemployed and have no health insurance and pay for it OUT OF MY OWN DAMN POCKET, I need to be taxed for money that I'm not earning. And my doctor will be forced to inform the government that I've used his services. And we thought that Medicare was bad. Doctors can opt out of the Medicare quagmire, but they won't be able to opt out of this. Everyone's doctor will be sending information to the IRS. Of course, since everyone's health records will be online and available to the government, the IRS will have no trouble verifying what health concerns you might have. Hopefully, your disease won't be too expensive....

I've heard that "uninsured" citizens, such as invulnerable 22 year old men will be taxed $2500.00 for not buying insurance. I'm sure that they are going to be making less than Obama's magic salary of $250,000.00.

This information is to be provided to the IRS for good reason. The House bill provides for a tax on people who do not have acceptable coverage at "any time" during the tax year. House bill section 401 provides for a new section 59B (at pp. 167-168) of the Internal Revenue Code:
(a) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of—
(1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.
The Senate version is similar, although the tax is called a "shared responsibility payment" not a tax. Section 161 (at pp. 103-104) words new section 59B of the IRC to require lack of coverage for a month (subject to certain exemptions) before the tax kicks in, and does not specify a specific percentage, but instead, directs that annually
the Secretary shall seek to establish the minimum practicable amount that can accomplish the goal of enhancing participation in qualifying coverage (as so defined).
The reporting requirements can only be understood in this tax context. In order to know which taxpayers to tax, the IRS needs to know which taxpayers do not have coverage received from someone else (normally, an employer).
Obama recently compared to the new "reforms" to the Post Office. The citizens understand that any new government care will be run by a more intrusive agency.

Of course, Congress has already PASSED a bill authorizing a Health Care Czar. From Michelle Malkin:

Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

If the health care reform wanted by Obama is so innocent, why are parts of the agenda being added to bills that have nothing to do with health? This sneaking about and the passing of unread bills, is what is driving the protests.

Czars do not report to Congress. They are NOT part of the Constitutional checks and balances. They usurp power from Congress. Congress doesn't mind. Now the cowards in Congress can get what they want without having to be blamed.

Rope. Tree. Politician. Some assembly required.

Heritage Morning Bell

Morning Bell: Is Obamacare Consistent With Our First Principles?

During one of Sen. Arlen Specter’s (D-PA) early health care townhalls in Lebanon, Pennsylvania; mother of two Katy Abrams told the audience: “I don’t believe this is just about health care. It’s not about TARP. It’s not about left and right. This is about the systematic dismantling of this country. I’m only 35 years-old. I’ve never been interested in politics. You have awakened the sleeping giant.”

Abrams is dead on. Our federal government has, unfortunately, long been drifting away from the limited government principles first envisioned by our founders. But over the past eleven months, that drift has turned into an all out sprint towards an undemocratic, technocratic, leviathan state … a type of government that our Constitution was specifically designed to prevent.

As Abrams points out, both political parties have been complicit in the rapid deterioration of our founding principles. It was after all President Bush who pushed for and signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 which created the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).

When the Bush administration submitted their legislation to Congress we warned: “From a constitutional standpoint, the current versions of the legislation are different in scope, and especially in kind, from almost any federal legislation that has come before.”

Specifically we identified: (1) Congress’s enumerated power—or lack thereof—to intervene with private markets in the manner contemplated, (2) the lack of meaningful standards to guide the extremely broad grant of discretion to the Treasury secretary (the “legislative delegation” problem), (3) limitations on judicial review over the exercise of that almost limitless discretion, and (4) related separation of powers concerns. The only thing that truly surprised us after the legislation’s passage was just how quickly our worst fears were realized. The TARP plan, as sold to Congress, was never even implemented and, instead, it quickly devolved into a political slush fund.

Because of the broad delegations of authority in the bill, the American people were left with no real avenue to check the federal government’s unprecedented interference in the U.S. economy. When Members of Congress voted for the bill in October 2008, could any of them honestly say they thought they had just voted to bailout General Motors and Chrysler?

The proposed health care legislation is just as bad, if not worse, than TARP. Sec. 142 of H.R. 3200 grants the new Orwellian titled “Health Choices Commissioner” broad lawmaking authority including the power to set standards for every Americans health insurance plan, to determine which of your current insurance plans do or do not meet that standard, and then to punish plans that do not meet that standard. Even worse is what is not yet in the bill, but is desperately wanted by the Obama administration. A super-empowered Medicare Payment Advisory Commission that is specifically designed to “save money in an apolitical, technocratic way.”

The entire purpose of this part of Obamacare would be to take medical decisions away from patients and vest it in a panel of experts specifically designed to be completely unaccountable to the American people. Is this what the Framers of the Constitution had in mind? When the Constitution was being ratified, James Madison, writing as Publius, sought to allay fears that the new national government would turn into a Leviathan. In the 45th Federalist Paper he emphasized that adoption of the Constitution would create a government of enumerated, and therefore strictly limited, powers.

Madison said: “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined… [and] will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce….” Federal tax collectors, Madison assured everyone, “will be principally on the seacoast, and not very numerous.” Exactly six months after publication of this essay, New York became the 11th state to ratify the Constitution. Is turning over one-sixth of our nation’s economy to Obama’s super-MedPAC panel in any way consistent with this vision?
