If Gasoline Were Food, Obama Would Be Starving Us to Death.

These Gas Prices Are Obama's Gas Prices

Barack Obama has spent his presidency finding scapegoats and fleeing responsibility. For example, our massive deficit is not his fault. Rather, it’s George W. Bush’s fault. Our painfully high unemployment isn’t his fault either. Rather, it’s due to the fact that “the economy is so automated.” He’s even tried to assure us that we can’t blame him for the sharp rise in gasoline prices we’ve seen under his watch either. Rather, he boasts that he’s expanded domestic oil production to its highest point in the last eight years.

Here’s what he said in a speech on March 15: "Do not tell me that we're not drilling. We're drilling all over this country. There are a few spots we're not drilling. We're not drilling in the national mall. We're not drilling at your house. " He then grinned like the cat that just ate the mouse, as if saying these thing takes him off the hook for the fact that the price of gasoline has jumped over 100% on his watch.

That’s right—over 100%.

Here’s the problem, as with almost everything this administration tells us, there is a small sliver of truth in what Obama said, and he’s using that small sliver to hide the ugly reality behind it. For example, domestic production is currently up by 120,000 barrels a day. But Obama has cut foreign intake by 1,000,000 barrels a day. In other words, the ugly reality is that Obama is forcing us, as a nation, to make due with 880,000 less barrels of oil a day that we were used to having prior to his presidency. Take away that much oil a day in a situation that isn’t static—a situation where demand is constantly growing—and it’s no wonder our gas prices are through the roof.

It Will Make For Some Cheap Gasoline, Too

Oil trade groups: Drilling deregulation could create 190,000 jobs

Published: 12:04 AM 07/12/2011
Updated: 2:34 AM 07/12/2011

Almost 190,000 jobs could be created by 2013 if offshore drilling returns to pre-spill levels, according to a study sponsored by two oil trade groups, the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) and the American Petroleum Institute (API).

The study, conducted by Quest Offshore Inc., found that if permits for exploration and drilling returned to historic levels, and if backlogged requests were granted, 400,000 jobs could be supported across the United States with a GDP increase of $45 billion by 2013.

“The president says he wants ideas for putting Americans back to work right now,” said Jack Gerard, API president, during a conference call today. “So we urge him, again, to take a look at policies that will encourage oil, and domestic gas development.”
BigBambu and Co up in de Massa's house don't want American oil going into American companies. Where's the fun in that? Their idea of maximum fun is to make every American as bad off as, say, a resident of a suburb of Mexico City. They want us BROKE Folks. How else do you explain it? If he's so effing smot (ess em oh tee smot), why is it that he keeps promoting policies that will take us all down the rabbit hole?

He's not smot: he's clever, devious, pernicious, insidious and evil and he has the best interests of NO ONE EXCEPT HISOWNSELF.

Always Blame the Ones Who Make the Product

Gas wars: The battle lines are drawn for this summer’s gas price blame game. Sen. Richard Blumentahal (D-Conn.) told Face the Nation that Obama should issue subpoenas and convene a grand jury to “uncover the potential wrongdoing” by oil companies. GOPers, meanwhile, are going to pin the blame squarely on Obama’s offshore oil drilling moratorium which has already decreased domestic offshore oil production by 13% this year. The wild card, however, will be Libya. A plurality of Americans blames unrest in the Middle East for high gas pries. If Obama continues to look clueless on Libya, expect these issues to blend together.
Issue subpeonas; drag their asses in front of Congress. Make them confess. Typical marxist drivel. Its those eeeeeevulllll oil companies.

Cutting Oil Deals That Won't Help Americans

Speaker Boehner Challenges President Obama on Support for New Energy Production – In Brazil

March 21, 2011 by Don Seymour

In an interview with RedCounty.com, Speaker Boehner called it “breathtaking” that the Obama Administration would back more job-creating energy production in Brazil while continuing to threaten job growth and drive up gas prices at home by blocking new American energy production.

You see, instead of lifting the de facto moratorium on American offshore energy production, the House Natural Resources Committee caught President Obama promising “to help with technology and support to develop” Brazilian oil reserves so that America could become one of Brazil’s “best customers.”

The new House majority is taking a different approach. With rising gas prices causing “big pains” at the pump for American families and small businesses, and American energy production in decline, Speaker Boehner said, “Americans are wondering, ‘well why aren’t we developing our own resources?’”

That’s why House Republicans recently launched the American Energy Initiative -- an ongoing effort to help address rising gas prices and create jobs by increasing American energy production. Here is how Speaker Boehner explained the initiative to Red County:

“One, it’s our all-of-the-above energy policy. Let’s have more oil and gas exploration, let’s use most of the royalties to help develop alternative sources of energy, but it’s clean coal technology, it’s nuclear energy. In addition to that, let’s look at what the Administration is doing that’s stopping the development of our natural resources. And if you look at the EPA, you look at the rest of these government agencies, they’re doing everything they can to put a moratorium in the Gulf, to make sure that we can’t drill in Alaska, to make sure there’s no development in the intermountain west. There are policies coming out of this Administration that are causing the price of energy to skyrocket. We need to expose this and hold them accountable for what they’re doing.”

Meanwhile, we're bombing another Muslim country and have no clue who will be in charge when we're done.

Commercials That Really Get Me Jacked

There are two currently running and I turn off the sound when they start running, because I swear I will lose it if I have to listen to the blatant lies and twisted facts and deliberate omission and sideways accusations that some politicians don't support the troops because they want "Big Oil" and banks to make a profit.

The first is the AARP commercial with that stupid jingle. Its quite possibliy the dumbest thing I've heard in my entire 59 years on this planet. They lump banks and investment houses in the same bad light. Question for AARP, who is going to handle retirees money if there are no banks? The government? Thats what you sapsuckers want isn't it? Dip*****.

The second is from our old friends over at VoteVets, an organaization so far to the left it needs a permit to make a right hand turn. VoteVets has somehow managed to con some otherwise resonably intelligent veterans to do a voice over or make an appearence in a commercial telling everyone that "Big Oil" is the problem and they're the ones responsible for all our KIA's and wounded, because "Big Oil" only cares about profits and continues to do business with muslim countries in the Middle East and OH MY GOD ITS SO EVIL and Randy Forbes should stop siding with "Big Oil" and we should all convert our cars to run on Mr. Bubble because only then will we be truly free from our "addiction" to oil.

Hey, whoever is running VoteVets PAC. You're a moron and everyone can see what you're about. STFU. Use that money to help Homes For Our Troops build homes for wounded veterans. Give some to the USO or Soldiers Angels. Get a life. Get a job. Get a dog. Do something productive and constructive, like advocating for offshore drilling to replace Middle East oil.
Dumass.

Lies that your Congress tells you. Or why do the Progressives need you fat, dumb, and angry....

Truism: If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes recognized as the truth.
Truism: If you have no respect for the voter's intelligence, you forget that they can FACT CHECK YOUR ASS!
Truism: Pelosi and Obama are raving, power-hungry empty suits that think the voters are stupid.

Both Pelosi and Obama have spread the lie that the oil companies are leasing 68 million acres and are, apparently, just sitting on them; just spending that money for nothing......

The Demoratic party continues to spread this statistic because they understand that the truth is harmful to the progressive movement. As long as the citizenry are hurting, and private enterprise can be blamed, the progressives can point to more government as the solution. This demand also allows the progressives to put forth ideas that, normally, would be abhorrent to the populace, such as nationalizing the oil companies, taking their profits and giving them to the populace, or nationalizing the refineries. All of these ideas have been put forth by the Progressives in Congress and running for President.

From Greg Feldmeth:

I. Sources of Progressive Reform

    A. Industrialization, with all its increase in productivity and the number of consumer goods, created

      1) Unemployment and labor unrest
      2) Wasteful use of natural resources
      3) Abuses of corporate power

    B. Growing cities magnified problems of poverty, disease, crime, and corruption

    C. Influx of immigrants and rise of new managerial class upset traditional class alignments

    D. Massive depression (1893-1897) convinced many that equal opportunity was out of reach for many Americans.

II. Who Were the Progressives?

A. New middle class composed of young professionals

    1. Sought to apply principles of professions (medicine, law, business, teaching) to problems of society
    2. Strong faith in progress and the ability of educated people to overcome problems
    3. Rise in volunteer organizations organized to address issues (American Bar Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Municipal League, eg.)
    4. Mainly urban in residence and orientation
B. Muckraking journalists attacked corruption and scandal with a sense of moral outrage

While Progressivism did address certain problems at the beginning of the 20th century, like most government-centric programs, the movement has outlive its usefulness. The modern Progressive movement depends on statism and autocratic ideas for its very survival.

The Progressives still cite "unemployment and labor unrest" though we are at full employment and membership in labor unions is down, voluntarily. They decry the "problems of poverty, corruption, and crime" as the need for more government controls without the admission that the worst urban areas ALREADY are under Progressive control.

While new immigrants are now the norm and do not "upset the traditional class alignments", the progressives seek to upset the traditional ideas of national sovereignty with allowing unlimited illegal immigration, knowing that the votes would go to them.

We are not in a depression or even a recession. But have you noticed over the last few decades, that whenever the progressives wish to regain power, the economy must be seen to be in a recession, or driven to one with horrible policies that are supposed to "save" us. High gas prices anyone?

The description of the "typical" progressive is accurate. College professors (Woodrow Wilson, our first fascist) comes to mind. Volunteer organizations....."community organizer or activist"....who does that bring to mind?

The ability of "educated people to overcome problems" definitely describes the Obamas and most of Congress. God forbid that the uneducated, unwashed masses actually fix their own problems. Force students into state run schools, force programs that teach to the lowest common denominator, and then, prevent competition even within that small realm, and you won't have citizens that can think critically. And then you won't have citizens to point out the lies, exaggerations, and distortions of history by the governmental classes.

And if you noticed the map of the last election by county, the idea that progressives are urban is obvious. Congressional election maps are very illustrative.

The terms "muckraking" and " journalist" have almost become synonyms. Journalism of today seems to demand continual outrage from its adherents. And all attacks must be towards the "corruption" found in private enterprise. Scandal, as long as it is attributable to any enemy of the press, is trumpeted to the skies. Moral outrage is selective. The press, of course, has always been this way, but at least, in the past, they ADMITTED IT!

The disease of Progressivism and Socialism is deadly to Freedom in both the short term and long term. I include both the Democratic Party and more recently, the Republican party, in the Progressive movement. If government intervention is seen as the only solution, we will ultimately become slaves to the very government that was invented to SAFEGUARD OUR FREEDOMS!

I'm Not Going To Defend Ted Stevens

He is accused of having lied on a federal form and if he did, he needs to suffer the consequences, just like any of us; but this is the best example of the government creating conditions which restrict citizens from creating wealth and improving their own lives.

Alaska is the richest state in natural resources, (gold, oil, natural gas) and has the lowest population per square mile of any of the 50 states. I doubt that 1 in 10 residents are actually from Alsaka originally. I could be wrong, I'm doing this on the fly with no research, except watching the History Channel (Ice Road Truckers, etc)

The resources are hard to get to and the government has imposed environmental regulations which restrict the exploitation of these resources.

Had the government not imposed these regulations, the citizens of Alaska could be enjoying the benefits of jobs working the oil fields, pipelines and drill rigs, in addition to the support stucture, which require people to fill them, (you have to WANT to work in Alaska,) which increases the tax base, which fills the state tax coffers, which reduces the amount of money the federal government has to send back for improvements, which would have eliminated the need for Senator Stevens to make all those backroom deals, which would have negated the necessity of lying on a federal form.

Open ANWR, let the people of Alaska go to work supplying us with much needed domestic oil, which will decrease our imports of foreign oil. Its a win/win situation.

Will it happen? I don't know, but it sure needs to happen. Sooner than later.

Conservatives must act

YankeeMom has a live one over at her place. Jump over and have a go.

From American Thinker
H/T Coby GOE

Today, as in 1776, the biggest battle is once again about our courage and optimism. Conservatism is embedded deep within the American spirit. But it requires constant loving care and outright cheerleading to feel free to express ourselves. You are not alone: Sixty million conservatives can't be wrong. (And that's a lowball estimate.)
Six months before November 2008, many conservatives are down in the dumps. John McCain is behind in the money race.
George Will thinks we are doomed --- an amazing thing to say, half a year before a toss-up election. Even Rush is in a sulk about John McCain.
But the stakes are higher than they have been in the last fifty years. No major US political party has ever nominated a radical Leftist before --- and Obama can't hide his real loyalties. Even Bill Clinton was more of a 'moderate' Democrat. Obama is a True Believer in the Left, like a younger Hillary Clinton after a sex change and a major sun tan.
The last attempt by the radical Left to conquer the US presidency was defeated by Harry Truman in 1948. Well, the Dems have now allowed a true radical to win their nomination, and they seem to be thrilled by their new messiah.
Will the American people be taken in by the Left? That's the crucial question that will decide the historic election of '08.

A Dhimmicrat In the Headlights

I said Maxine Waters wanted to nationalize the petroleum industry in a previous post. Well, friends and neighbors, here it is from her lips to Gods' ear.
Watch the people just to her right, as she realizes what she has just said OUT LOUD, and attempts to correct herself.
Almost makes you feel sorry for her. ALMOST!!!

Watch the video here.
