Obama as William Banks "The Cleaner"

Addiction....the word iself is negative in conatation and implication. It implies weakness, lack of self-control, selfishness, and a single-minded purpose dedicated to making ones self feel better, no matter the cost, no matter the hurt.

Addiction...defined as:
a primary, progressive, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations. The disease is often progressive and fatal. It is characterized by impaired control over use of the substance, preoccupation with the substance, use of the substance despite adverse consequences, and distortions in thinking.
^ Morse, RM; Flavin DK (1992). "The definition of alcoholism. The Joint Committee of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and the American Society of Addiction Medicine to Study the Definition and Criteria for the Diagnosis of Alcoholism". JAMA 268 (8): 1012–4. doi:10.1001/jama.268.8.1012. PMID 1501306. Retrieved on 2008-06-29.

Well, we have a Savior to free us from our chronic, progressive addiction to petroleum. All hail the William Banks of politics. He alone can end our preoccupation with this deadly substance that has us wrapped in its grip and free us from the adverse consequences and distorted thinking.

All hail the new Cleaner, who is proposing this intervention and will drag us off to rehab, because we don't know any better.

After all, we're "addicts".

There's a slight problem with all this however. Intervention and rehab are supposed to make life better for the one addicted. Stopping the use of the substance which the addict craves is supposed to make then stonger and more dependable.

For some reason, I can't see that happening with this particular intervention.

Trickle Down Voodoo Economics Dhimmicrat Style

A message for the thickheaded, dimwitted, perniciously anal dhimmis:

This nation runs on petroleum; whether it's gasoline for autos, diesel for trucks, or LPG for busses and foklifts, petroleum is the life-blood of America. No one has proposed a workable, economically viable replacement for petroleum, yet.

I'm sure that some day, we'll all be running around in hyper drive powered by water, but until the person who will invent that comes along, we're pretty much stuck with petroleum.

Thats the voodoo.

Here's the trickle down...the more we have to pay for petroleum, the more we have to pay for everything else. The more it costs us to go shopping, the less shopping we do, the less shopping we do, the less manufacturing, the less manufacturing, the less jobs, the less jobs, the more unemployed.

You see how this works?

Now get off your collective asses, get us some domestic oil and cut the crap.

The only thing wrong with our economy is the price of gasoline at the pump, and that is your fault.

You can fix it.

So fix it.

You Know She Was the Right One

by the way in which the left wing blogs are handling the announcement this afternoon by Senator John SIDNEY McCain that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be his vice president.

"Pinup Girl for the right-wing",
a "desperate move" says VB Dems;
Blueweeds says:
My initial reaction was "Not fair! Republicans are evil for running a hottie swimsuit model." Or writing something pithy about "the Beauty and the Beast Campaign."

If thats the best they got, we are in for a booooooring campaign, cause this crap will get old quick around here and I will delete and block anyone who continously comments on her appearence and refuses to engage in honest and open debate.

JTB, just what is your problem with conservative women? or is it just women in general?

I'm Not Going To Defend Ted Stevens

He is accused of having lied on a federal form and if he did, he needs to suffer the consequences, just like any of us; but this is the best example of the government creating conditions which restrict citizens from creating wealth and improving their own lives.

Alaska is the richest state in natural resources, (gold, oil, natural gas) and has the lowest population per square mile of any of the 50 states. I doubt that 1 in 10 residents are actually from Alsaka originally. I could be wrong, I'm doing this on the fly with no research, except watching the History Channel (Ice Road Truckers, etc)

The resources are hard to get to and the government has imposed environmental regulations which restrict the exploitation of these resources.

Had the government not imposed these regulations, the citizens of Alaska could be enjoying the benefits of jobs working the oil fields, pipelines and drill rigs, in addition to the support stucture, which require people to fill them, (you have to WANT to work in Alaska,) which increases the tax base, which fills the state tax coffers, which reduces the amount of money the federal government has to send back for improvements, which would have eliminated the need for Senator Stevens to make all those backroom deals, which would have negated the necessity of lying on a federal form.

Open ANWR, let the people of Alaska go to work supplying us with much needed domestic oil, which will decrease our imports of foreign oil. Its a win/win situation.

Will it happen? I don't know, but it sure needs to happen. Sooner than later.
