NYPD is getting a bad rap for their ongoing investigative work insuring that no radical elements of the muslim community are planning more terrorist attacks. If Holder and his idiot minions refuse to investigate the threats, citing "religious freedom" as the excuse for tip-toeing around a bunch of mysoginistic, goat-humping bad guys hell-bent and hell-bound to destroy Western Civilization by any and all means, then someone has to do it; and I've yet to see an NYPD police officer "tip-toe" around anything.

Full blown military hand-salute to the NYPD for taking the initiative and protecting the people under their care, and by extension, the sorry-ass dhimmicrats and apologists who insist that islam is a peaceful religion. I think we all know better by now.

Is she telling everyone, that in the YEARS we have been discussing the definition of torture, deeply soul searching as a nation, she did not get briefed on CIA techniques? She ignored possible wrong doing and looked the other way?

She's saying that she was "not briefed" on the enhanced interrogation techniques.

So, she either:
1) willfully ignored possible wrong doing,
2) WAS ignorant of greatly publicized activities,
3) supported the actions, THEN, and is now lying about it now,
4) is too incompetent to understand the situation.

I can picture her now, hands over her ears, "LALALALALALALA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU."

Prosecuting suspected terrorists like petty thieves or drug dealers is fraught with peril. The Democrats have learned nothing from the failed law enforcement strategies of the feckless Clinton era. Confiscated Al Qaeda training manuals have revealed that recruits are instructed in how to manipulate the Western legal system if they are captured. As I’ve noted before, affording accused Al Qaeda operatives the Sixth Amendment right to a public trial threatens to compromise classified information necessary to prosecute future terrorist trials. Other rights guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment — the right to subpoena witnesses and compel them to testify, the right to an attorney — can interfere with interrogations of captured suspected Al Qaeda agents. And while the lives of those directly involved in say, a mob trial, might be endangered, the entire nation may be at risk when we allow suspected members of a terrorist network to engage in the discovery process and in privileged communications with attorney-abettors.
Who will be accountable when these prosecutions run amok? When convicted jihadis wreak bloody havoc from behind bars? And when Gitmo recidivists wage war anew once released? John Murtha doesn’t give a damn. Do you?

The main burr under everyone’s saddle is the Iraq War.

In this respect, I challenge you to read the book “Dereliction of Duty” by Lt. Col. Robert “Buzz” Patterson. In this book, the basic planning of 9/11 was fermented in the Clinton administration.

When the 9/11 calamities struck our nation, President Bush pledged to the American people that he would do everything possible through the powers of his office to prevent another occurrence of such calamity from striking our nation again. He also pledged to hunt down the terrorists responsible for 9/11 and destroy them. President Bush had to challenge Congress to give him the “power of office” to check phone calls and other means to detect and apprehend anyone with tendencies toward terrorism.

He had to bang heads of the FBI and CIA to work together and apprehend undesirable people in our effort to prevent terrorist acts.

The world governments knew that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). His army used them on a segment of his nation. Hussein gassed thousands of people. It was common knowledge by many nations that Hussein was in cohorts with the terrorists. He paid homage to the families of the suicide bombers that were killing the Israeli people. He supported training camps for terrorists located in Iraq. Although it was determined that Hussein did not direct the 9/11 terrorist acts.

The United Nations gave a number of directives to Hussein; that he acknowledge having WMDs and dispose of them. Obviously, Hussein ignored all the referendums. The final referendum warned Hussein to comply with the directives or suffer the
consequences. At this point, President Bush implied that the consequences would be an invasion of Iraq to destroy the WMDs and the terrorists. President Bush concluded that it would be better to fight the terrorists on their streets than have to fight them on our streets. Hence, the invasion of Iraq. In addition, he wanted to make sure that the terrorists would not acquire any WMDs and use them in an attack on our nation.

President Bush sought approval and assistance from the United Nations, but they refused, and because of the danger from WMDs to the world, President Bush pledged that we would do it alone. In spite of the protesters, he stayed the course of his commitment.

On the invasion of Iraq, the military determined that Hussein had removed the WMDs from Iraq, but the military found large caches of military equipment designed for gas warfare. This was proof enough of his possession of WMDs.

The Iraq conflict has been prolonged by the invasion of terrorist elements from the neighboring countries. President Bush has permitted the military to conduct the operations. In contrast, civilian Washington micromanaged the Vietnam operation, which proved much more disastrous than Iraq.

I thank President Bush for trying to fulfill his pledge to the United States of America.

Someone you should know

Army Spc. Monica Lin Brown saved the lives of fellow soldiers after a roadside bomb tore through a convoy of Humvees in the eastern Paktia province in April 2007, the military said.

After the explosion, which wounded five soldiers in her unit, Brown ran through insurgent gunfire and used her body to shield wounded comrades as mortars fell less than 100 yards away, the military said.

Well done. Hoooah!

I ask Congress to send me a clean veterans funding bill by Veterans Day; and to pass a clean defense spending bill. Congress needs to put the needs of those who put on the uniform ahead of their desire to spend more money. When it comes to funding our troops, some in Washington should spend more time responding to the warnings of terrorists like Osama bin Laden and the requests of our commanders on the ground, and less time responding to the demands of MoveOn.org bloggers and Code Pink protesters. (Applause.)

Here's the bottom line: This is no time for Congress to weaken the Department of Justice by denying it a strong and effective leader. It's no time for Congress to weaken our ability to gather vital intelligence from captured terrorists. It's no time for Congress to weaken our ability to intercept information from terrorists about potential attacks on the United States of America. And this is no time for Congress to hold back vital funding for our troops as they fight al Qaeda terrorists and radicals in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In the struggle against the terrorists and extremists, I hope I made my strategy clear today -- that we will keep constant pressure on the enemy in order to defend the American people; we will fight them overseas so we do not have to fight them here at home. (Applause.) At the same time, we'll use every available tool of law and intelligence to protect the people here. That's our most solemn duty. It's a duty I think about every day. In the long run, the only way to defeat the terrorists is to advance freedom as the great alternative to radicalism and repression.

We can have confidence in this cause because we have seen the power of liberty to transform nations and secure peace before. Here at the Heritage Foundation, you understand this better than most. During the Cold War, there were loud voices in Washington who argued for accommodation of the Soviet Union -- because they believed the watchword of our policy should be "stability." At Heritage, you knew that when it came to the Soviet Union, the watchword of our policy should be "freedom."

Together with a great President named Ronald Reagan, you championed a policy of rolling back communism oppression and bringing freedom to nations enslaved by communist tyranny. And by taking the side of dissidents, who [sic] helped millions across the world throw off the shackles of communism, you helped build the free and peaceful societies that are the true sources of stability and peace in the world.

And now we're at the start of a new century, and the same debate is once again unfolding -- this time regarding my policy in the Middle East. Once again, voices in Washington are arguing that the watchword of the policy should be "stability." And once again they're wrong. In Kabul, in Baghdad, in Beirut, and other cities across the broader Middle East, brave men and women are risking their lives every day for the same freedoms we enjoy. And like the citizens of Prague and Warsaw and Budapest in the century gone by, they are looking to the United States to stand up for them, speak out for them, and champion their cause. And we are doing just that. (Applause.)

We are standing with those who yearn for the liberty -- who yearn for liberty in the Middle East, because we understand that the desire for freedom is universal, written by the Almighty into the hearts of every man, woman and child on this Earth. (Applause.)

We are standing with those who yearn for liberty in the Middle East, because we know that the terrorists fear freedom even more than they fear our firepower. They know that given a choice, no one will choose to live under their dark ideology of violence and death.

We're standing with those who yearn for liberty in the Middle East, because we know that when free societies take root in that part of the world, they will yield the peace we all desire. See, the only way the terrorists can recruit operatives and suicide bombers is by feeding on the hopelessness of societies mired in despair. And by bringing freedom to these societies, we replace hatred with hope, and this will help us to marginalize the extremists and eliminate the conditions that feed radicalism, and make the American people more secure.

The lessons of the past have taught us that liberty is transformative. And I believe 50 years from now an American President will be speaking to Heritage and say, thank God that generation that wrote the first chapter in the 21st century understood the power of freedom to bring the peace we want. Warner Says He May Vote With Dems On A Timetable For Defeat

WASHINGTON (AP) - GOP Sen. John Warner, who wants U.S. troops to start coming home from Iraq by Christmas, said Sunday he may support Democratic legislation ordering withdrawals if President Bush refuses to set a return timetable soon.
"I'm going to have to evaluate it," Warner said. "I don't say that as a threat, but I say that is an option we all have to consider."
Warner, a former Navy Secretary and one-time chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is seen as someone who could influence the debate among senators who have grown increasingly uneasy about the unpopular war.
Warner's suggestion last week about bringing back some troops put him at odds with Bush, who has insisted that conditions on the ground should dictate any such decisions. Warner long has opposed legislation pushing for timetables.

"That's precisely what I said to the president. I said, 'Here is an option. You can initiate a first withdrawal. You pick the number, Mr. President. And it would send a signal to the Iraqi government that matches your words,'" Warner said. "His words being, 'We're not going to be there forever.'"
"The president has got to put teeth in these comments that we're not there forever," he added.
The political wrangling comes as the White House and Congress are headed toward a showdown on the Iraq war. In mid-September, Gen. David Petraeus, the top military commander in Iraq, and U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker plan to give their assessment of Bush's decision this year to send 30,000 additional troops to Iraq.
"We've got to show our resolve in the face of the Iraqi government inaction," Warner said. "I'm looking for in that message of the 15th what the president's going to do to get this (Iraqi) government jump-started to deliver on its commitment to our troops, 'You fight and die, get the security, I will deliver Iraq as a reconciled unity government.'"

I don't think that withdrawing the troops from Iraq (especially since we JUST started a surge, and JUST began to see success in dropping violence) is the way to show Al-Maliki and the Iraqi government that we will not be there forever to protect him.

The Iraqi government needs 2 things: an Iraqi police force to keep law and order, and an army to protect it from it's "neighbors" who (like Syria, whom he just visited) want to see it destroyed and become a terrorist state.

Our withdrawal should center on the rise of that police force along wtih the rise of a battle-hardened Iraqi army -- one that is loyal to the new government. Should we want to put pressure on the Iraqi government to stand up, we can withdraw our troops to a rear-base, but not leave country.

As for "a reconciliation government": good luck. I'm not sure at all how divergent the views of those sections or Iraq's population are, or how willing they will be to be flexible with their enemies in order to "get along." That may be something that comes about only after a civil war in Iraq, but I don't think a true and lasting peaceful compromise is something that can be forced on the parties involved -- either by the U.S. or by the new Iraqi government. It is up to the factions to decide when they have had enough violence, war, and death to make them willing to compromise.

Al-Qaeda on the Run

In March of 2003, Abu Musab al-Zargawi was holed up in his mountain terrorist training camp in Eastern Iraq. He had already been fighting Americans for quite some time. He had been wounded fighting in Afghanistan in 2002 but managed to escape to Baghdad, where he was treated and brought back to health in an Iraqi hospital. Once recuperated, he established a terrorist training camp along the Iranian frontier. He selected a mountain perch that would be easy to defend and would also provide a quick escape route into Iran. His men controlled a 300 square kilometer finger of land that protruded into Iran, just east of the ghost town of Halabja.

I have been told, unofficially, that Abu-Musab al-Zargawi was under direct orders from Osama bin-Laden to establish his Iraqi camp to spread the violence of al-Qaeda. I was told this by a former S-2 (intelligence) officer for a brigade that was deployed in Northeastern Iraq. I believe he knows what he is talking about but, unfortunately, I cannot divulge his name as a source. Instead, let me direct you to the work of a well-known author, Robin Moore. Mr. Moore visited Iraq shortly after the invasion in 2003. He then wrote “Hunting Down Saddam,” St. Martin’s Press, New York, 2004.

In his book, Moore writes of Operation Viking Hammer, “perhaps the largest Special Operations assault in history.” When the Turkish government baulked, and did not allow American forces to attack Iraq from the north, a large Special Operations effort was initiated in Northern Iraq and Kurdistan. Kurdish pesh merga forces, assisted by American Special Forces teams moved toward, and eventually attacked Zargawi’s hideout, east of As-Sulaymaniyah. The battle is also recounted in Linda Robinson’s, “Masters of Chaos,” PublicAffairs, New York, 2004. Ms Robinson indicates that there was an association between Zargawi’s group, Ansar al-Islam, and al-Qaeda.

The battle to neutralize Ansar al-Islam in the Iraqi mountains raged for days and was one of the fiercest fights of the war. Finally, the pesh merga and American Special Forces routed or killed hundreds of Sargawi’s fanatic fighters to find the largest terrorist training camp in the world. You all may think that I am about to go on to claim that this was an al-Qaeda training camp, that al-Qaeda was in Iraq in 2003, and that Saddam was in cahoots with Zargawi (and thus al-Qaeda). Well, I am not. I will leave that research to the reader. What I am going to do is make a prediction.

I predict that al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) will beat a retreat to this same finger of land, or a similar border hideout in the same vicinity, in the near future. AQI is on the run in Anbar and Diyala Province. (According to the Multi-National Force-Iraq Public Affairs Office, “Eighteen paramount tribal leaders representing 14 of the major tribes in Diyala Province, Iraq, swore on the Koran and signed a peace agreement unifying the tribes in the battle against terrorism…on August 2nd.”) General Rick Lynch is running the enemy to ground, south of Baghdad. The Multi-National Division-North has made great strides in killing or capturing most all of the senior al-Qaeda leadership in Mosul. Soon, al-Qaeda’s only safe haven will be along the Iranian border. Soon, al-Qaeda will resort to the same tactics as they are using in Afghanistan.

The surge is working. Harry Reid – we are not losing in Iraq. General Petraeus’ forces are doing everything they can to keep al-Qaeda off the Iraqi population and, they won’t let up until they are all dead, in custody, or dug in to their last mountain hideout. We are far from victory in Iraq, but we are approaching a tipping point.

Drudge linked to an article this morning in the New York Times where the Hollywood elites in the movie industry promise to be even more brazenly anti-war and anti-American than they have already been (If that’s possible!)

“LOS ANGELES, July 25 — On a night four years ago, five soldiers back from three months in Iraq went drinking at a Hooters restaurant and a topless bar near Fort Benning, Ga.
Before the night was over, one of them, Specialist Richard R. Davis, was dead of at least 33 stab wounds, his body doused with lighter fluid and burned. Two of the group would eventually be convicted of the murder, another pleaded guilty to manslaughter, and the last confessed to concealing the crime.
Now some in Hollywood want moviegoers to decide if the killing is emblematic of a war gone bad, part of a new and perhaps risky willingness in the entertainment business to push even the touchiest debates about post-9/11 security, Iraq and the troops’ status from the confines of documentaries into the realm of mainstream political drama.”

Personally, I don’t know how anyone could have looked at “Jarhead” and felt Hollywood was patting our troops on the back. If you haven’t seen it, don’t bother. Our soldiers are portrayed as sexually crazed, murderous killers whose great hope in life in to get laid one more time, and, oh yeah, maybe I can kill someone today. As the end credits roll you don’t exactly feel like cheering to be an American. Boy, we’ve come a long way from “Missing In Action,” “Rambo 2” and “Uncommon Valor.” (And this is giving these movies the benefit of the doubt; the story lines revolve around an American government covering up or refusing to rescue soldiers in captivity. As a redeeming quality, they at least feature a main character who says “screw you” to the government and goes off to rescue their comrades at arms on their own, or with limited help.)

Hollywood is (or should be) thanking the Bush administration for one thing, though: giving them a new setting for their anti-war propaganda; they can finally throw away all those sets and stages of Vietnam. The list of movies NOT encouraging you to raise your flag on Memorial Day:

Apocalypse Now
and the award winning Platoon. (Never has a movie successfully gone to such great lengths to show the real enemy is the soldier beside you, not the one firing the AK-47.)
Throw in the myriad of comedy’s that show American soldiers stealing everything in Bagdad, or invading third-world countries and you can see how we have gotten to where we are. Yes, I know the latter movie was a comedy and was meant to be funny to us, but run that movie in, say, Fallujah, and it would be the “shock and awe” equivalent of our Hogan’s Heroes did with our opinion of the Germans. Add that to the fact that laughter, much less humor is a foreign concept to jihadists and what you have is propaganda, not a fun night in front of the tube.)

In it’s dedication to broadcasting it’s operation plans to the enemy, the left’s beginning salvo of rocket fire to frag the American psyche for a left-wing political victory begins on Sept 14th with the release of Warner Brothers’ “In the Valley of Elah”:

“On Sept. 14, Warner Independent Pictures expects to release “In the Valley of Elah,” a drama inspired by the Davis murder, written and directed by Paul Haggis, whose “Crash” won the Academy Award for best picture in 2006. The film stars Tommy Lee Jones as a retired veteran who defies Army bureaucrats and local officials in a search for his son’s killers. In one of the movie’s defining images, the American flag is flown upside down in the heartland, the signal of extreme distress.”
You have got to be kidding me!! The only people I know of who use this form of “extreme distress” are gullible left-wing nut jobs who thought “Loose Change” was great, the Palestinian “militants” really want peace, and illegal aliens who are afraid we will actually ask them to come through the front door into this country a few at a time instead of bum-rushing the border.

What else is on tap? Hollywood will revise and re-introduce the military victim again; more veterans coming home mal-adjusted, unable to adapt and cope with society, and waiting for the least little thing to set them off into a murderous rampage on men, women, children, and pets: more vibrant and frightening versions of “Born on the 4th of July” and the first “Rambo.” That will make you feel real good the next time your daughter brings home a sharp-dressed career oriented military man. (You know the only safe bets for well adjusted grandchildren are the long-haired dope-smoking rockers who are more concerned with the preservation of brush fields in Brazil than putting your grandkids into a private school that will teach them to actually read and write at their grade level.)

More movies to look forward to:
* “New Line Cinema will release “Rendition,” in which Reese Witherspoon plays a woman whose Egyptian-born husband is snared by a runaway counterterrorism apparatus.”
* “In “Grace Is Gone,” directed by James C. Strouse and due in October from the Weinstein Company, John Cusack and two daughters struggle with the loss of a wife and mother who is killed on duty.”
* Kimberly Peirce’s “Stop-Loss,” set for release in March by Paramount, meanwhile, casts Ryan Phillippe as a veteran who defies an order that would send him back to Iraq.
* “Paul Greengrass, the director of “The Bourne Ultimatum,” in which the bad guys belong to a similar rogue unit, is adapting Rajiv Chandrasekaran’s book about the Green Zone in Baghdad, “Imperial Life in the Emerald City,” for Universal Pictures.”
* “Brian De Palma’s “Redacted,” focusing on an Army squad that persecutes an Iraqi family, is to be released in December by Magnolia Pictures.”
* “Sony Pictures is developing a film based on the story of Richard A. Clarke, the former national security official and Bush administration critic.”

Neither is Hollywood hiding the fact that these movies are designed to move the audience to question American policy toward the Iraq War, our involvement in Iraq, and the current occupants of the "Oval Office." Indeed several movies are timed to come out during party elections, and the general election for President. Scott Ruddin who produced the movie “Stop Loss” says about the timing of the upcoming anti-war movies, since we are still involved in the conflict: “Media in general responds much more quickly [to current events] than ever before” adding “Why shouldn’t movies do the same.” His movie is also one timed to come out during the presidential campaign. Director Paul Haggis (he directed “Crash” and has been noted for his opposition to the war) says “This is not one of our brightest moments in America.” “We should not have gotten involved.” He goes even further revealing to writer Michael Cieply that “Valley of Elah” “is meant to raise questions about ‘what it does to these kids’ to be deployed in a situation where enemies are often indistinguishable from neutral civilians, and the rules of engagement may force decisions that are difficult to live with.”
So the latest attempt will be to use “the tear-jerker” and the difficulty of adjusting to life with war injuries and amputations, to roll back support for a war that was meant to secure our country and the world against terrorists who want to have “September 11th”-style attacks every day.

So what’s the answer here? Every red-blooded American who believes in the troop, the war, and/or the president, is going to have to go into flag waving overtime, to compete with the added onslaught of negativity and anti-war/anti-America fervor that will kick up starting in only a few weeks. We are going to have to take our actions to the people and make them as high-profile as possible. Don’t miss an opportunity to speak out because your opposition is not. You might even have to politely get “in the face” of your local activists, but meet them with believe, courage, and conviction. Your cause is right, theirs, though with the best of intentions, maybe, IS NOT.

My call last week for a Jihad-sedition law stirred up a hornet’s nest. While it was not a new idea, I often forget that what is old hat to me may be new and shocking to others. I also must take some blame for some misinterpretations — because the simple fact is that my writing, in one paragraph in particular, was a convoluted mess.

So here, in legal and more precise language, is what I propose:

An amendment to 18 U.S.C. § 2385 which, taking specific cognizance of the current threat from Islam, establishes that the preaching of Jihad is tantamount to knowing and willful advocacy of “overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States”; that whoever, in accordance with the doctrine of Jihad, “prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States” shall be “fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.”

(An additional method of accomplishing the same object would be to outlaw the promotion of sharia law. The Constitution guarantees a republican form of government; the establishment of sharia would perforce overthrow that form of government; it follows that our sedition law may criminalize the promotion of it. In short, sharia is incompatible with the republican form of government. However, for the purposes of this post, I will limit myself to the prohibition of Jihad.)

...As I wrote last week, I would like that faction I have called Totalitarian Islam to “stand naked” before the law “without the shelter of the civil liberties which it seeks to obliterate.”

Looks like there is still no love lost between Hillary Clinton and the rabid, radical left-wing that supports the Democratic Party. Hillary got “boo”-ed this morning at the radical left-wing Take Back America Conference in D.C for asserting that the American troops in Iraq “has done it’s job.” Things really got bad when she went the unpopular direction of “The American military had succeeded” in its ongoing mission in Iraq. Here’s the details as they appear in National Review:

"Hillary Clinton Booed Again [Byron York]

Sen. Hillary Clinton was booed again this morning at the Take Back America conference, sponsored by the lefty activist group Campaign for America's Future here in Washington. At this same conference last year, Sen. Clinton was booed for her position on the war in Iraq. This morning, she was enthusiastically received as she bashed the Bush administration — "a stunning record of secrecy and corruption" — but the crowd became less friendly when, at the end of her speech, she turned to Iraq.

"We're going to end the war in Iraq and finally bring home the troops," she said as a number of Code Pink protesters stood up in the audience. When she declared, "The American military has done its job," boos began to be heard around the room. As the boos increased, Sen. Clinton raised her voice. "The American military has succeeded," she said, to more boos. "It is the Iraqi government that has failed to make the tough decisions." Still more boos.

At that point, there was a round of cheers. "I love coming here every year," Clinton said. "I see the signs, 'Get Us Out of Iraq Now.' That's what we're trying to do.""

Can we question their patriotism now? If this doesn’t show the anti-America, anti-troops attitude these radical left-wing groups have then I don’t know what ever will.

As for me, I question the patriotism of ANYONE who “boo”-ed to the statement that the “American military did it’s job” and that the “military has succeeded.”
Whether or not you like the idea of the war, or how the generals or the president ran it, the men and women of the United States Armed Forces did what they were asked to do, in the best possible way that they could have done it. To “boo” the statement that they have done their job shows a lack of character, understanding, and PATRIOTISM. Nothing more.

A Tribute To Militrary Wives

Ask any soldier who loves a woman; the most important person is not on the battlefield.

There is a soldier who goes to war 24 hours a day 7 days a week, who wears no uniform, and gets no medals, but without them the war could easily be lost:

As a Desert Sheild/Stom vet, I can attest as to how much we really need that support from our ladies. We could carry on with our jobs without it, but it mean SOOOOOO much more to have you supporting us. WE ARE STRONGER INSIDE WHEN WE KNOW WE HAVE YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT. The days are easier, even though the nights aren't. We will never know all that you go through while we are away, but always know that we do care, and when the job is over, to your arms is the first place we're going.

To the wives faithfully holding down "Fort Home-coming" till their soldiers return, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You too serve this country and we thank you.

Europe continues to head down the road to being Saudi Arabia with snow.
Europe is having “a 26-year high in the number of children women are having in England and Wales” and cites “rising immigration and older mothers” as the main source of the rise. Quote:

“The last decade has seen a 77 per cent increase in births by mothers born outside of the UK, with the figure climbing to almost 150,000, or over a fifth of all babies, last year.

As Britain’s demographics change, Mohammed is expected soon to replace Jack as the most popular boy’s name. It has already pushed Jack to third place.”

The trend of cultural dilution is supported even more by the claims of infant mortality rates being “at the lowest level ever, at five deaths per 1,000, the same as for 2005.” So, of those babies born to the UK by immigrants by far the majority live on.

Take into account those who are UK citizens but who come from other countries, or, are the female children of immigrants from over two decades earlier that are now bearing children, and the rate at which native Europeans are being supplanted in their own country is probably alarmingly high.

Memorial Day Weekend: With Rolling Thunder

This weekend, I'll be in Washington DC with many other veterans for the Memorial Day demonstration by Rolling Thunder. Members of Rolling Thunder will ride from the Pentagon parking lot to Washington DC in what some people have described as "a sea of bikes."

People from all over the nation come to pay tribute to our fallen soldiers and those who are missing in action. This will be my first time at a Rolling Thunder event. As a motorcycle enthusiast and a veteran of Gulf War One, I feel a need to be there this weekend. I feel the need to be with the people who have worn the uniform and have been through war -- one far worse than mine -- and have come through it with a deeper respect for patriotism, and respect of freedom. I want to be with people who don't feel that the American flag is something to be ashamed of. I want to be with people who, like me, have sat in the foxhole and faced death head-on and know what the true value of "you watch my back, I'll watch yours" is.

I want to tell a veteran from WW2 "thanks for protecting my parents so I could be born." I want to tell a veteran from the Korean War that he and his sacrifice are not forgotten. I want to tell a veteran from Vietnam that "I love and respect him for doing what he had to do, when called to do his duty. I want to give him a belated hug and a "welcome home hero" that he so much deserves. I want to say "What's up, brother?" to a fellow Gulf War vet who went over to Kuwait and ate M.R.E.s and sand just like I did, in order to turn back a dictator's agression. I want to say "Thanks for protecting me and my wife and kids" to a kid just out of high school or college who has avenged the death of thousands of innocent Americans, drove a murderous sheik into hiding in a mountainous moonscape in Afghanistan, toppled a ruthless dictator and deprived him of the opportunity to kill thousands more with weapons of mass destruction, held radical Islamic terrorists at bay, and offered the chance to have true peace and freedom to the people of Iraq. If I can do all of these things, I will be a happy man. But if I do only one of these things this Memorial day, I will be a changed person, forever.

But most of all, I want to stand with all these people and say thanks to those who answered the call, but didn't come home. I want to stand shoulder to shoulder with my veterans and say to ours who have fallen, that you are not forgotten. In all of lifes comings and goings, your sacrifice is remembered.-- f22strike
