Random House Doubles Down, Defends Anti-Palin Literary Hoax; McGinniss Spins Emails of Omission

Random House Doubles Down, Defends Anti-Palin Literary Hoax; McGinniss Spins Emails of Omission

McGinniss revealed in an e-mail in January 2011 that Random House lawyers had informed him–after all of that “extensive-on-the-ground reporting in Alaska, as well as in-depth interviews”–that his manuscript contained nothing beyond “tawdry gossip,” and that his most “salacious stories” lacked “factual evidence.”

Yesterday, McGinniss told Mediaite: “My reporting continued beyond the date of the email.” In an attempt to prove that claim, he has released e-mails to Weigel showing his correspondence with prostitute Shailey Tripp, as he attempted to substantiate his claim that “Todd had sex with a hooker.”

But the new emails only highlight McGinniss’s decision not to include allegations about a “hooker” in the published book. They do not show why McGinniss chose to include almost every other allegation in The Rogue about which he had admitted in January that there was no “factual evidence.” McGinniss omits any emails relating to those claims

Three Times As Many Claims As Actual Claimants

Congress Should Investigate Pigford Before Funding It
by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN)

Too many elected officials are far too comfortable spending taxpayer dollars without knowing where that money will actually end up. This was proven once again by the Senate’s vote to fund the Pigford Settlements, even though serious claims of fraud exist.

In September, I joined my colleagues Congressmen Steve King (IA-05) and Bob Goodlatte (VA-06) to call for a full investigation into the Pigford Settlement Case. As a constant advocate for careful use of taxpayer dollars, I was concerned when I learned that this Settlement has 94,000 claims of discrimination, even though only approximately 33,000 black farmers exist in the United States.

I’m disappointed in the Senate’s decision to disregard these serious allegations and instead vote to spend away billions of taxpayer dollars.

Union Management Is the Problem

I doubt the rank and file feels this way.

CWA Union Boss Says Tea Party Advocates ‘Slavery’
by LaborUnionReport
Just when you thought the left-wing race baiting over the last year couldn’t get any worse, the Communications Workers of America chief honcho Larry Cohen has sunk to new depths attacking those who do not agree with his socialist agenda.

On Wednesday, the NAACP, in continuing its unfounded “racist” accusations of the Tea Party movement, had a conference call on which the CWA President participated.

According to Big Journalism writer Niger Innis, after the NAACP’s Ben Jealous continued his normal the-tea-parties-are-racist-harangue, his little buddy at the CWA threw the rhetorical grenade out on the call:

The most illuminating part of the call came when “progressive” ally, Larry Cohen of the CWA (Communication Workers of America) revealed the real agenda of the attacks on the Tea Party by the Left, “We disagree with the agenda of the tea party Movement… They advocate slavery,” and this classic gem, “We don’t need 19th century capitalism.”

Bakersfield Carpenters Union Intimidates and Threatens Violence

Bakersfield Carpenters Union Intimidates and Threatens Violence

In Bakersfield, CA the local carpenters’ union1506 picketed a construction site of a new office building on Thursday, October 21st for not using union labor. This is typical of any “carpenters’” union to protest when they don’t get their way. The video proves the people that are picketing the business are NOT carpenters or have any future interest in working on any union project.

SEIU President Mary Kay Henry, Have You No Shame or Sense of Decency?
Larry O'Connor
The incredible reporting by my colleagues at Big Government and Big Journalism on the shameful demonstration of intimidation by SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and her purple-shirted thugs this past Sunday in Washington DC has brought to light so many revelations exposing the corrupt nature of this union and their bought and paid-for allies.

Big Pharma rumbles with Big Tobacco

Timothy P. Carney, Examiner Columnist

An immigrant's view of Arizona's immigration law

Joana Suleiman, Examiner Design Editor
"Most illegal immigrants are not criminals and should not be deported. We need flexible visa programs to meet business and family needs. We need comprehensive immigration reform so that borders are secure. But all the hatred directed toward Arizona is misguided."

Andrew Briebart On Searchlight Rally

The bus was egged as they arrived in Searchlight and SEIU goons were positioned with signs directing rally attendees in the wrong direction.

Remember who you are dealing with as we move into the summer election season. They will stoop to any action to make you look bad or transfer blame. Everyine should have a video camera with good sound capabilities.

TODAY'S WASHINGTON EXAMINER EDITORIAL SECTION HIGHLIGHTS

2009 has been Obama's year of falling swiftly

A football player with a higher calling

Gregory Kane, Examiner Columnist
"In December of 2007, Sports Illustrated published a story about those remarkable folks with the last name of Rolle and their forebears in the Bahamas islands called the Exumas."
