Google Roscoe Reynolds

I thought I'd check up on a couple of Virginia campaigns this evening. I googled the name Roscoe Reynolds. He's a 22 year incumbent Democrat/ick in State Senate District 20.

Thanks to Virginia's awesome bloggers, Sen. Reynolds has become a YouTube phenom. The videos show a man with a short fuse and some serious ATTITUDE. You can watch them here, here and here. For the blog posts about them, just google Roscoe Reynolds. There are plenty to choose from.

Reynolds' opponent is Jeff Evans, a Republican and is definitely worth checking out.

I personally am extremely wary of career politicians and feel no one should be elected for life, but the voters of District 20 will be the ones to make that choice in November. May they choose wisely.

The Virginia Club for Growth PAC endorsed six candidates for the Virginia Senate today, all of them worthy.

One of these candidates, Patricia Phillips, I am especially proud to see listed as I have known her for several years and from our first meeting I have been impressed with her honesty, sincerity and integrity. John Van Hoy: John Van Hoy faces a firehouse primary, on May 19, to fill the open seat of former Senate Finance Chairman John Chichester. The retirement of Chichester sent a wave of excitement throughout conservative activists in Virginia. Van Hoy will be a huge step up from the former Senator from Stafford. Patricia Phillips To Run For State Senate In The 33rd

What an inspiration it is to see a remarkable woman like Patricia Phillips enter the political arena as a candidate for the Republican nomination for the 33rd District State Senate seat. This is a lady of keen intellect, grounded in common sense and fueled by ideas for the 33rd District and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

She knows her way around the General Assembly having worked hard over the years on a host of legislative issues.

Patricia Phillips has been involved in political and community affairs throughout her life. Prior to her announcement, she was the Precinct Operations Chairman for the Loudoun County Republican Committee, and State Director for the Concerned Women for America of Virginia. She was recently active in the effort to pass the Virginia Marriage Amendment to the state Constitution.

In January 2006, there was a Special Election to replace Bill Mims in the state senate. The Republican candidate in the 33rd Senate District was Mick Staton who received approximately 38% of the vote. The Democrat candidate was Mark Herring who won the election with approximately 62% of the vote. Turnout was only approximately 14% of the registered voters. Herring was elected by 8% of the voters.
