2013 Americans In Wartime Museum Open House

It's Time to Register! Americans in Wartime Museum 2013 Open House 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., August 17 and 18 "The Tank Farm" 13906 Aden Road in Nokesville, Virginia   We are getting the vehicles, the field and all of the activities ready for the 2013 Open House! We hope you are planning to join us.   If you have not registered and you plan to attend, click here. The Open House will preview the future Americans in Wartime Museum with fully operational armor, living history demonstrations, Kids Scavenger Hunt, a K-9 Demonstration and Combat Veterans Roundtable (Saturday only), displays and much more! By registering, you help us plan parking, food and activities for all of those attending.   This year, we are requesting a minimum $10 donation per adult for those attending the open house. The donation is voluntary but will support the Open House and the Museum's mission. You can make the donation when you register online or stop by our check-in tent when you arrive at the event.   New this year for those of you who enjoy motorcycles, we are hosting a Poker Run on Saturday, ending at the Open House. Drive approximately 5.5 miles to Route 28 South. Go 4.5 miles to Nokesville (a traffic light and small shopping area). Turn left at the light onto Route 652, Fitzwater Drive. Go one mile to stop sign. Turn right onto Route 646, Aden Road. Drive 4.2 miles to 13906 Aden Road. Red brick walls at entrance on the right. Plan Your Weekend Around This

This coming Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 August, the Wartime Museum is having its second Open House of the year. The past Open Houses have been a blast and I expect the same this time around.

I've confirmed that Dave Marron from Thunder Run will be there as well as Susan Katz Keating. No big surprise with SKK. She sits on the Board. Uncle Jimbo will probably be hanging out.

I will be livestreaming some of it on our Ustream site. This time I'll be attempting a mobile livestream so it should be a bit more interesting than just a fixed camera. I've also extended invitations to two very incredible Ladies. I hope their schedules permit. If nothing else, maybe I can get UJ to do a freefly but I'd rather have the Ladies.

National Museum of Americans in Wartime Finds A Home

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors and the Wartime Museum Board of Trustees today announced that the future national museum will be located on a 70-acre site near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Dale Boulevard. The Hylton Family of Prince William County donated the site for the Wartime Museum.

"It is fitting that The Wartime Museum will be loacted in Prince William County where the military has played a significant role in our community's histotry," said Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart.
