The Government Doesn't Build Roads or Bridges

The government doesn't "build" anything. Businesses build roads and bridges. Small businesses to be precise. The government is only the middle-man, the broker, the funds disperser, and the agent of control. The government tells the businesses where to build and gives them a set of guidelines and specifications that tells them how to build. Government then collects taxes from the citizens in order to pay the businesses to do the work.

I've yet to see a single government worker, other than a SeaBee or other military construction personnel, pour concrete, weld beams or dig footings. All of that work is done by small businesses who hire citizens, hopefully, to complete the work. I helped build several bridges and miles of highway in the 70's. Not once did I draw a government issued check for the work I performed. The people I worked for made money building (or NOT building) roads and bridges.

So Mr Obama, you have no clue how things get done in this country. Or maybe you do and you're just trying to destroy it by spreading untruths and mis-information.

SEAL 3 Update

This should provide interesting subject matter on Andrea's blogtalk show with Crush tonight.

Navy SEALs' trials moved to Iraq

NORFOLK, Va. - Two of the three Navy SEALs accused in the mistreatment of an Iraqi detainee will have their military trials take place in Iraq, a military judge ruled Monday.

Both Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas and Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan E. Keefe appeared in military court at Naval Station Norfolk in separate hearings. In each case, the presiding judge decided to move the sailor's trial to Camp Victory in Iraq. That decision was made so that the victim could give direct testimony instead of a deposition, enabling Huertas and Keefe to face their accuser.

The charges against the three SEALs involve Ahmed Hashim Abed, who has been linked to the 2004 deaths of four Blackwater contractors who were mutilated before their bodies were hung from a bridge.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe is accused of striking the detainee in the midsection, dereliction of duty for failing to safeguard the detainee, and lying to investigators. He deferred entering a plea until his Jan. 19 trial.

Huertas of Blue Island, Ill., faces charges of dereliction of duty, lying to investigators and impeding an investigation.

Keefe, of Yorktown, faces charges of dereliction of duty and making a false official statement. Huertas and Keefe have pleaded not guilty. Their trials are planned for April.

The SEALs have received an outpouring of public support, including the backing of several members of Congress.

Dhimmis Once Again Show True Colors

Editor's Note: House Democrats can ethically include hundreds of millions in the stimulus for ACORN and the dissemination of condoms but can't find it acceptable to name a bridge or a public works facility after someone who died providing defense of liberty? What does that tell us about their feelings about liberty??

Democrats Kill Bill that Honored Troops
S.A. Miller,
The Washington Times

House Democrats blocked a measure that would have required new roads, bridges and schools funded by the $825 billion economic stimulus to be named after US armed forces members killed in action. Democrats on the House Rules Committee nixed the amendment Tuesday in a party-line 9-3 vote. The same vote also took down four other Republican amendments that would have funded job training for veterans, stopping all the measures from being considered Wednesday by the full House for inclusion in the stimulus.

"For whatever reason, it was not to their liking," said Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, Michigan Republican, sponsor of the amendment that would have honored fallen troops.

Video of Mr. B. Hussein Obama Praising China

I said it Friday, I'll say it again:

AMERICA comes up SHORT?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

WTF?!?!?!?!?!

"Just look at the money China has spent on infrasturcture, ports, roads" he says, while looking at the Olympics on TV.

It's almost HEAVEN.

That bastion of freedom, that defender of human rights, that workers paradise called China must be the mostest bestest place on Earth, if you watch the Olympics on TeeVee.

How did they manage all that?

Lets see. What are the major differences that set us apart from Nirvana?

China has:

NO enviro-wackos
NO building codes
NO pollution controls
NO OSHA
NO EPA
NO Bibles
NO FREEDOM

Well, MR B. HUSSEIN OBAMA, if those are all that America DOESN'T need to make the grade in your feeble mind, then by all means, lets get rid of them.

We can start with the enviro-wackjobs that control your side of the aisle and prevent us from becoming energy independent. After we make sure that's going to work, we'll discuss the other options.
