Arizona-Lebanon In America?

Rep. Myrick: Hezbollah Major Threat on Mexican Border
By: Jim Meyers

Rep. Sue Myrick tells Newsmax it is “very frightening” that the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah has been sending agents to Mexico — and some have already entered the United States across the porous border.

The North Carolina Republican has asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to set up a special task force to investigate the reports that Hezbollah is cooperating with drug cartels along the Mexican border.

In an exclusive Newsmax interview, Myrick — a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the GOP’s Deputy Whip — was asked what is known about Hezbollah’s threat to America.

“Our intelligence sources have really clarified that they are in Mexico, that there is an operation that is quite large in place there, and it’s very frightening to me because this is national security,” says Myrick, who was first elected in 1994.

“Yes, immigration’s a problem too, but this particular situation [involves] people who don’t like us for various reasons.

“We know some of them have gotten across the border in the past, and now we know that there are people from Iran who are going to Venezuela. They are actually learning Spanish, and then they come up through Mexico to cross our border. So they’re working in cahoots with Venezuela as well.”

About Hezbollah’s intentions in the U.S., Myrick says: “We don’t know. It used to be that most of those groups did not really target the United States. They were targeting other countries or they were staying inside their own area of influence. Now they are starting to target the United States and that’s my concern.

“I do want a task force of both U.S. and Mexican officials. Let’s get to the bottom of this and find out what is going on.

“The response I have received was a call that they would like to give me a private intelligence briefing because I’m on the Intelligence Committee. I said that would be fine, but I would like an answer about the task force first because once I get a briefing, I can’t talk about it.”

Sen. John Kyl, an Arizona Republican, has said he met privately with President Barack Obama and implored him to secure the border. Kyl claims Obama told him that if he did secure the border it would remove the incentive for comprehensive immigration reform or amnesty for illegals. Myrick says that “makes no sense whatsoever.”

She tells Newsmax: “It’s obvious that’s what he wants, amnesty. He’s said it over and over again. I don’t see it that way.

“Our responsibility at the federal government is to make sure that our borders are secure. Once the border is secure, like it is in some other places where we don’t have the problems that we do in the areas where it’s porous, then we’ll know who is in the country. We can control who comes into the country.

“It makes no sense to me whatsoever that you can’t secure the border because you can’t get amnesty.”

Myrick takes issue with Attorney General Eric Holder, who has filed suit against Arizona’s tough new law to battle illegal immigration.

“The federal government has not done its job,” she declares.
“Arizona is only trying to do what a state as the right to do, and that is to protect themselves.”

Turning to Iran, Myrick charges that the Obama administration is dragging its feet on dealing with the nuclear threat posed by the Islamic Republic.

“I think we should take a tougher stance and work harder with our partners in the world to make sure they do too,” she says.

The United Nations in its attempts to deal with Iran is “just a joke,” she adds. “They aren’t doing their job.”

Asked about the possibility that Israel may attack Iran’s nuclear facilities on its own, Myrick responds:

“I think Israel has the right to defend themselves. That option is there.

“I hope it does not come to that, but there needs to be something done to have a tougher stand with Iran.

“They aren’t going to be our friends. You can’t convince them they’re going to be our friends. They don’t operate that way. They don’t want to be friends. They want to conquer the world.”

NC Rep. Sue Myrick in FSM

Some in the Political Class Lie, Deceive, Manipulate And Rob
Sue Myrick, Congresswoman, North Carolina (R)

This protest happened in September, 2009 but apparently it wasn't enough.

The fraud, deception, deceit and bribery occurring in Washington regarding Senator Ben Nelson's vote for the ‘any' health care bill is standard operating procedure. The way a President, Majority Leader in the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives do business would land any ‘average' American citizen in prison!

I wasn't a Member of Congress long when I learned this lesson. I was not supporting a major piece of legislation - and had been very vocal about it. I received a phone call from the Transportation Committee Chairman's office, who offered me $15 million to help finish Interstate 485 around Charlotte. I had championed that road when I was Mayor and they knew it was important to me. I said my vote was not for sale.

When politicians make such deals, in my opinion, they are compromising the integrity of their constituents who put their trust in them. So, what happened with Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska, to change his mind about the health care bill, is not new.

First it has been reported that Senator Nelson was threatened by the President that if he did not vote for the ‘any' health care bill, that Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska would be closed. (Change we can believe in?) Then the Senator was offered free Medicaid for Nebraska. (That means that you and the rest of us Americans will be paying for it.)

Playing ‘let's make a deal' with YOUR money is how those politicians flex their power egos and control your life. THINK: 537 people (House, Senate, President, Vice President) control the lives of 308 million Americans - plus those not yet born who will also have to keep on paying the bill. You are now being lied to, deceived, manipulated and robbed of your hard earned money - money you and your family need. Next - higher taxes. You had better become active now! It's Christmas - they don't think you're paying attention. This health care bill is a momentous fraud. Those truly needing health care could be covered for a miniscule amount - compared to what this bill will cost you.

Instead the pirates in Washington continue to divide the fruits of your labor. Only you can stop it. Remember the lone student in China who stood in Tiananmen Square in Beijing in front of a tank? In effect, he was saying ‘give me liberty or give me death'.

Obviously here in America it will take tens of millions hitting the streets in protest to stand a chance of stopping this continuing march toward totalitarianism.

Rep Sue Myrick from North Carolina on HR 3713

The one requirement missing from this preliminary outline of a Republican Healthcare Bill is that old people die quickly. I haven't read the whole thing yet, so they may have actually stuck it somewhere down deep in the recesses of the language. You know how coniving and cunning those wascaly wapublicans are.

For the past few months, the question across the country has been on health care reform: What will Congress and the Administration do, and how will this affect the American people?

While the Majority part in Congress continues to advocate for a government-run plan, I have signed onto an alternative health care plan that will reduce costs and allow more Americans buy quality health care coverage.

This plan, the American Health Care Solutions (HR 3713), drafted by Rep. Mike Rogers (MI-08), will:
• Prevent insurance companies from denying care based on pre-existing conditions or becoming sick
• Expand federal block grants for state high-risk pools that accept all patients
• Create association and small business health plans
• Allow families to purchase insurance across state lines
• Enact comprehensive medical liability reform
• Expand and improve health savings accounts
• Allow employers to offer discounts for healthy behavior through wellness and prevention programs
• Strengthen penalties for Medicare and Medicaid fraud, and expand funding for federal anti-fraud monitoring
• Establish “transparency portals” in each state to provide families more information about health plans and providers.

These are things we can agree on and that will truly make a difference within our health care system. They are common sense reforms changes that will allow you and your doctors - not a beaucrat in Washington - to make the decisions about your health care.

I'm also calling on Speaker Pelosi to bring this alternative plan to the House floor, and consider it alongside H.R. 3200-- the bill drafted by the Majority party and the Obama Administration. A government-run plan isn’t the only way to change the health system. Let’s have an open debate about health care solutions and let the American people compare these two bills. This is your health care coverage. You have a right to know the alternatives and make the call.

While this debate has been ongoing in the halls of Congress and townhall meeting across the country, I've been so encouraged by the voice of the American people. No matter what side of this debate you're on, I hope that you will continue to contact me and our Senators from NC and let us know how you feel. Also, please contact your
family and friends around the country and urge them to contact their representatives and Senators. This is a country of the people, by the people, for the people, and your voice is a powerful thing.

ChiComs Drilling Off the Coast of Fla

Anyone who thinks the dhimmicrats have a plan to solve high gas prices has a house next door to Cleopatra; they're living in denial. All the dhimmis want to do is tax the oil companies. Maxine Waters threatens to nationalize the petroleum industry. Durbin the Turbin claims there is no way we can drill our way out of this problem.

Meanwhile, China and India are 50 miles off the coast of Florida, drilling in Castro's fields, using technology which could allow them to drill laterally and tap OUR reserves, and there ain't a freaking thing we're doing about it. What is wrong with these people? Have they lost their minds? Did they have a mind to begin with?

The dhimmis tout environmental concerns when they restrict drilling and prohibit new refineries. Does anyone here really think the ChiComs are concerned about the environment? Do you really think they give a furry rats ass about some pelicans or fish?

If the dhimmis really want to solve this energy crisis, they need to get their collective (yes, pun intended) asses in gear and pass Rep Sue Myrick's (R-NC) bill to allow drilling off our coast. Its HR 6108, the Deep Ocean Energy Resources Act of 2008 and will suspend the moratorium on offshore drilling. We can do this safely, cleanly, with minimal environmental impact, and it will go a long way towards solving the problem.

Rep Myrick is a frequent guest on the syndicated morning radio show John Boy and Billy out of Charlotte, NC and was on this morning talking about her bill. She supports drilling in ANWR and she also called for the State Department to revoke Jimmah Carter's passport.

It's time to put the economic interests of the American people at the front of the line. The enviro-nazis and the tree-hugging whack-job special interests that are controlling the dhimmicrat politicians have managed to once again step on my last nerve. It's time to tell these twits to STFD and STFU while the grown-ups deal with the problem.

Call your representatives and tell them to pass this bill, and tell them if they really want to help, move some battle cruisers down to the Straits of Florida and monitor the ChiCom operations 50 miles off our coast.
One drop of oil spilled and the operation is toast. I have it on good authority that some of those vessels carry big toasters.
Cross posted at The Talon and DCPW.
