Hizzoner the Mayah Is An Idiot

Racist Mayor Dwight Jones is living proof that intelligence and deductive reasoning are not pre-requisites for elected office. It's one thing to support an issue, but to join a public demonstration against legislation intended to reinforce voter eligibility in the Commonwealth and tell everyone witihin earshot it's a Republican trick to keep blacks from voting for Democrats is just stupid beyond description and very, very racist.

Let me make several things very clear, Mr Jones; I don't care what color you are. I do not care what you do or who your mama was. I do care about who votes in the Commonwealth and I want the people who cast votes to be legal residents of the Commonwealth and eligible to cast a vote. Verification of residency is step one in the process, and the best way to verify residency is with a driver's license or state-issued photo ID. Its not racist to demand proof of your eligibility to vote. Its not racist to insure the voter rolls are up-to-date and the people whose names are on those rolls are eligible. I have to show my ID every time I vote. They check the name and address on the ID with the name and address on the voter roll.

What I want them to do is demand to see my Voter Registration Card, which I carry everywhere and have never been asked for.

Get a clue, Mr Jones. This legislation is not a white racist plot ginned up by The Man to keep the brutha down. Its simply good citizenship.

"Cause there's somethin happn'n here and you dont know what it is, do you, Mr Jones?"

Congratulations To Bill Janis

Full disclosure: I like Bill Janis. He's a good man, he served his country honorably and continues to serve the Commonwealth and the citizens of the 56th District. I'd like to cast a vote for him for Governor some day, or maybe Senator. Seriously.

He is now the Majority Whip in the Virginia House of Delegates. If that's not a match made in Heaven, I don't know what is. Go get 'em, Brother. We got your six.

Matters of the Commonwealth

Chris Peace needs some input from the good citizens of the Commonwealth.

He has a few questions he'd like you to answer.

I filled it out. Its no big deal to access, and the more information he has, the better he can perform his duties. We are obligated as citizens of the Commonwealth to assist our elected officials in any way we can.

McCain Camp Asks Congressman Cantor For Records

H/T FreeRepublic VA Forum

From InRich.com

U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia has been asked for "personal documents" by John McCain's campaign, a Republican knowledgeable with the discussions said Saturday.
Cantor, 45, the chief deputy minority whip in the House, has been mentioned among several Republicans as a possible running mate for McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
The Republican familiar with the conversations between Cantor and the McCain campaign said Cantor has been asked to turn over documents, but did not know specifically what records were sought.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because neither the McCain campaign nor Cantor's office wishes to discuss the running mate selection process.
Cantor through a spokesman declined to comment. McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said the campaign would have "no comment on anything related to the vice presidential issue."
Cantor has been a visible McCain surrogate for weeks, appearing frequently on cable news outlets chiefly to promote McCain's positions on domestic and economic issues.

Now, that begs the question, if indeed Rep Cantor decides to take this incredible opportunity, who do we replace him with?

As a resident of Virginia, as a former Marine, as a conservative, I can only think of one man I would want representing me in the 7th District besides Mr. Cantor.

That man is Delegate Bill Janis.
