American allies. This man should be an American.

The war on terror is in Iraq. And we have allies throughout the world.

Long before Jeffrey Jamaleldine was hit in the face by a bullet during a nighttime ambush just outside the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, he was just another German kid, roaming through West Berlin and dreaming of becoming a professional soccer player.

Jamaleldine doesn't even crack a smile when he talks about how, in 1991, he joined in anti-American protests on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm boulevard during Operation Desert Storm. "That was the way it was back then," he says. He was 15 and "America was simply the enemy." It took a full 14 years before Jamaleldine finally -- and radically -- changed his views on the Americans. It was on June 6, 2005, in the middle of the Iraq war, when he showed up at the US Army recruiting office in Little Rock, Arkansas, to enlist.

esponds: "But someone has to achieve that peace." The father repeats: "I am in favor of peace."

This only upsets Jeff. Normally he tends to be quiet and calm. But now he raises his voice, his body tenses up and his words become deliberately hurtful: "And what are you doing so that we can have peace? How much longer do you think you'd be sitting around drinking coffee in fancy Berlin cafés if people like me didn't exist? If there was nobody to make sure you could live in peace? If there was nobody to fight terrorism?"

Go read the whole thing.

British Troops - One Blood

From Theo Spark, who states that their Army is unappreciated in England, comes this video. I invite all American patriots to to support our brave allies and "adopt" them as our own.

Poland honors our dead and theirs...

h/t Little Green Footballs

Poland honors its dead and ours. If only we could show such taste in our memorials of 9/11. They do this for 2 of their fellow Poles and our firemen. While we have that travesty on Capitol Hill. Our Congress should be ashamed. Thank you, Poland.

I don't know if you can reach anyone at this link but if you want to say thanks, try this: Embassy of Poland, D.C.

Gateway Pundit: Iraqi Terrorists Excited About Democratic Congress

Gateway Pundit links to Micheal Totten's excellent reporting in Kurdistan. Check out both blogs.

Just think of the reception Pelosi would have gotten if she had visited this ALLY of ours instead of one of our enemies.
I would have loved to see her face when she heard these quotes:

"As a military person, I am disturbed by what is going on in America now," he said and jabbed his finger in the air. "They want to withdraw their troops." He banged his fist on his desk. "We want the Americans to stay. Why are people thinking like this?"

Can you imagine what would be the reaction if CNN got this request?:

"I want you, as a reporter, as a journalist," the general said to me, "to get our Kurdish voice to the American people so they know about Kurdish suffering in Iraq. We don’t want the American army to leave this area. The terrorists are excited about what is going on in the Congress."

Just think of the public's reaction to this info:

..."What do the Kurdish people think of George W. Bush?" Patrick said.
"He is a friend," said General Karam. "He has done everything for the Kurdish people, for our rights. He is a friend. And he is not going to leave us..."..."We believe if the Americans withdraw from this country there will be many more problems," he said. "The Sunni and Shia want total control of Iraq. We are going to get involved in that. Iran is going to be involved in that. Turkey is going to be involved in that. Syria is going to be involved in that. The Sunni and Shia fighting in Baghdad will pull us in. We are going to be involved. Turkey and Iran will make problems for us. It is not going to be safe. All the American martyrs will have died for nothing, and there will be more problems in the future. Americans should build big bases here."

The reporters continue:
“What is your experience as Kurds? What happens to you when you surrender or give up?”

“All the problems will start,” the colonel said. “We don’t want to be involved in that fighting between Sunni and Shia. But we’re going to get involved if the Americans leave. We are going to be pulled into that. It’s not going to be like the Arabs and Al Jazeera say. They say when the Americans leave, all the problems will be solved. No. It is not going to be like that.”
He seemed despondent now, as if his best friends in the world were about to throw him under the bus.
“There are two kinds of love,” he said. “The kind between a man and a woman. And the kind between people and nations. Americans are beheaded in Baghdad. But they are welcome in Kurdistan.”
