For God And Country
The Catholic Virginian's December 18, 2006 edition carried a wonderful piece by Camille Wurm about an event titled "For God And Country" at St. Gregory the Great Church in Virginia Beach, Va. It did not mention what day the program took place.
"Retired Air Force Col. Frederick Morgenstern spoke passionately about the Godly principles of liberty, opportunity and justice.
He brought tears to the eyes of even teenagers when he quoted Marine Chaplain O'Brian:
"It is the soldiers, not the reporters, who have given us the freedom of the press;
the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech,
and the soldier, who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag
who allows the protester to burn the flag."
This was a stand up and cheer concert for the honor of God and the United States Veterans. And the audience did just that."
