Hi everybody. Weekend blogging will be lite for me. I've been in Myrtle Beach since Thursday enjoying some rare time off with my sport bike club during Bike Week. But, I try and take some time during each day and keep up with some of the happenings in the world.

• Looks like after all their efforts to take firearms out of UK society, the "youths" in Britian are taking to carrying knives to kill each other. The moral of the story: evil will find a way. The conservative point: Banning an inanimate object (like guns, knives, etc.) will not stop people from killing each other. After the ban on knives (which may be coming, based on the hand-wringing tone of the article) they will kill each other with sticks. It's a "people" problem, not an "object-oriented" problem.

• (Hat Tip: LGF) It seems Hillary is having her problems being quoted properly by the media; Banner headline "Hillary Becomes a Republican." How does it feel, Mrs Clinton to be on the other side of the MSM spin machine?

• Syria, in it's feverish quest for peace with Israel says that it will not break it's official ties with Hamas or Hezbollah, or with the Iranian government that supports them. Says the syrian government "Damascus does not want preconditions, that would put the cart before the horse...it does not bargain over it's relations with other countries and people." "It goes without saying that impossible conditions cannot facilitate the work of negotiators." So much for peace at any cost.
