Little Fish Wants Big Splash in Foreign Policy

Looks like US House of Representatives member Gregory Meeks is taking US drug enforcement policy and State Department relations into his own hands.

December 12, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Queens Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks is flying to Venezuela this month for a tete-a-tete with leftist loudmouth President Hugo Chavez.
Meeks says he wants to urge Chavez - whom he says he meets with "all the time" - to sign an agreement to combat the burgeoning trade in illegal drugs.
He says he has no problem meeting with him so soon after Chavez sparked outrage by likening President Bush to the devil in a September speech to the United Nations and later calling Bush "an alcoholic" and "sick man."

They just can’t wait to get Bush out of office. Don’t look for this “meeting” to produce anything of substance; it’s another attempt by democrat unknowns to try and push themselves into the national spotlight, and maybe get the use of a good vacation spot – out of media prying eyes.
