Democrat Senator Tim Johnson in Hospital in "Serious Condition"
It’s being widely reported in the news this morning that Democratic Senator Tim Johnson has had a stroke. No details of his current condition have yet been released.
It is my hope that Senator Johnson has a full recovery from his illness, as I would wish so to anyone who may have suffered a debilitating health condition. I don’t know him personally, or his family, but I wish ill health on no one, and after a week or so, he may be deemed able to come back to his post in the senate. This would be fine with me. I am not so in-love with power that I would jump for joy at the fall of another person to illness -- and I accuse no one on the conservative side of doing so. Conservatives are NOT evil people and want to see everyone enjoy a long, happy life.
Word has it, that if the senator from South Dakota can not continue to serve his term in the Senate, that the governor, a Republican, could appoint another person to that seat – likely a Republican. This would turn the Senate over to the Republicans. As appointing someone to this seat is the right of the governor, if he so chooses to appoint a Republican, so be it. That is his right. In doing so, the Republican Party will have a second chance to go back and get right what they got wrong before the election.
If he appointed a Democrat, so be it. Nothing changes, and things go on the way they would have. The country will in this decade, get a look at what rule of law under a Democrat interpretation would look like. This alone (over time) will bring an end to Democrat rule.
What will be fun, will be the desperation and partisan bickering and harping of the Democratic political party, as they try and 1.) keep the Senator in office regardless of his health in order to keep power, and 2.) Watch them cry foul, complain, threaten, and file lawsuits if the South Dakota governor gets to appoint a new senator. Damning of fate and conspiracy theories will abound. I don’t doubt hard-core democrats who could care less about his real condition are already searching for traces of polonium.
