Flight 93 Memorial, Shanksville PA 09-30-06

We drove up from Powhatan, VA and arrived in Shanksville, PA at 4:00 in the afternoon. Cresting the hill overlooking the crash site of Flight 93 the wind was blowing hard. All the flags flew straight out at attention and the clouds moved quickly overhead continually changing the light on the field and the Memorial.

Concretebob arrived there earlier in the day when it was still raining and took some video that captures the quietness and peace in this sacred place.

The bright spot in the middle ground is an
American flag marking the crash and burial
site.

The Memorial "Wall" where visitors leave
behind something of themselves in remembrance.

Benches are inscribed with each passenger
and crew member's name.

There are forty angels holding flags and
tokens of love.

She flies in honor of those who fought
the first battle of the Long War, the
passengers and crew of Flight 93.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord;
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
