Sgt. Sean H. Miles

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

That picture of his wife and son is a tough one to look at without getting a little water in the eyes.

Rest in peace Sgt. Miles. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. God bless you and your family.

I wish I could have attended the funeral, in the RTD article, they said the local FD unfurled a huge American Flag as part of the ceremony, from a Hook and Ladder.

If only Sgt Miles sense of duty to our country was felt among the entire population.....

The flag was immense. It hung over the drive into the church parking lot. It was beautiful. The next thing that caught my eye were all the Marines in their dress blues. Started to tear up right away and when I saw Sgt. Miles' wife with their little boy in his own set of dress blues...

It was very touching. His brother and sister did the readings and his dad gave a wonderful eulogy for his son. Afterwards The Marine Corps Hymn was played on the bagpipes as they processed out.

This young man came from a wonderful family who will keep his memory alive for his son. Sgt. Miles is a true Hero.

Sgt Miles was a wonderful person. I am so honored to have known him. I feel more than privileged that he was my friend and in my life...you will be missed.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend.

My son is home from Iraq and we were catching up on some things this afternoon. I showed him this post about Sgt. Miles. It turns out he had been my son's instructor when he was in SOI. It got a little quiet around here this afternoon.
