Free Americans believe everyone should have the opportunity to practise their religious beliefs as they see fit. However, we must draw a line when that belief system restricts the opportunities of others to do the same. We cannot allow one religion to take precedence over another.

Islam is not “just another religion” to be granted the protection and deference we grant to other religions like Judaism and Christianity. Islam demands that it be the only religion and that all must bow down to it in all matters, religious and civil – from marriage and divorce to contract disputes and to punishments for criminal behavior. Islam is incompatible with our constitutional government and must be dealt with before it grows along with the exploding birth rates of its members. It is the duty of all Muslims to work toward the imposition of Islam and the Sharia wherever they live, and the only way to counter this is to shut down any further immigration of Muslims into this country.

The rot of multiculturalism is not just something that will some day destroy America, it is already well on its way, as the events pertaining to the massacre by a Muslim terrorist at Fort Hood make abundantly clear. What has happened to our army at higher command levels began long before Obama came to the presidency, but the lunacy of deliberately casting a blind eye at the role of Muslims in world-wide terrorism has gotten much worse, and this has become a perilous problem for all Americans as home-grown Muslim terrorism gathers strength.

Manhattan: Despite near freezing temperatures and steady rain, a spirited crowd of 9/11 families, first responders, and their supporters rallied this afternoon outside a federal courthouse in Manhattan to protest Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to give Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9/11 conspirators the right to a civilian trial in that very court. Interspersed among the sea of umbrellas at the rally were American flags and homemade signs:
"Give Us Liberty, Give Them Death," read one. "Treating Terrorism As A Street Crime Is What Brought Us 9/11 In The First Place," said another. One took direct aim at the attorney general: "Eric Holder=Disgraceful and Despicable," and “2,921 Souls Shout: Can You Hear Us Now?”

Speakers and attendees argued that by giving enemy combatants a trial in a civilian court -- rather than a military tribunal -- Holder has needlessly put lives at risk. The decision will restrict what evidence may be used against the terrorists, could reveal intelligence secrets, and sets back the clock to September 10. “[Terrorists] declared war on us 15 years ago,” said Andy McCarthy, who prosecuted the “Blind Sheikh” following the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. “When they declared war on us, they were using bombs, and we answered with subpoenas. They attacked, and we indicted.”

The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.

1- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" ( CBC ) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la"( well, you know how they are ). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon ( the biggest corporation in theworld ) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the "when-hell-freezes-over"stack. She let locals know that if we need something built,we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning - I imagine -that she's packing heat herself ). I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4- Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5- For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started...This summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6- President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up. I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents' wives.

Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska announced yesterday that she is resigning and will not seek a second term as governor. Many conservatives are characterizing this as an abdication of responsibility and a failure of will.
Quin Hillyer wrote in the American Spectator that "Sarah Palin's resignation is an appalling dereliction of duty and a highly cynical move to set herself up for a presidential run for which she is manifestly unqualified."
I vehemently disagree. She did not quit. From what I saw of her speech before Fox inexplicably cut it off (after seven days of wall-to-wall Michael Jackson coverage), this is not a woman who is retiring or "cutting and running," as Hillyer put it.
She is getting into the fight to save America. Palin committed herself to fighting "for our state and our country, and campaign(ing) for those who believe in smaller government, free enterprise, strong national security, support for our troops and energy independence."
Obama's treasonous presidency has made this struggle necessary.
Palin, like all patriotic Americans, is shocked by what is happening.
Obama is destroying this country. She knows it. We all know it. We need a leader.
Palin is that leader.
On Friday she assumed the mantle. She delivered a campaign speech. She spoke on the eve of Independence Day about the sacrifices great Americans have made, and what our Founding Fathers fought and died for.
Without naming Obama, she went after his disastrous policies, saying that "living beyond our means today is irresponsible for tomorrow," and noting that as governor she had "vetoed debt-ridden stimulus dollars." She believes in and wants to fight for free enterprise, small government and national security.

This is not the usual profile of valor. This is the story of a highly decorated 90-year-old World War II and Vietnam vet fighting his homeowner’s association to keep his flagpole. Col. Van Barfoot has been awarded more than 20 medals, including three Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit and the Medal of Honor, and is thought to be the most decorated living combat veteran.
Barfoot recently placed a flagpole and U.S. flag outside his home near Richmond, Virginia. The homeowner’s association guidelines don’t expressly forbid flagpoles but say they must be “aesthetically appropriate.” Apparently, that means only short poles on porches. The association issued a statement saying, “This is not about the American flag. This is about a flagpole… We are a neighborhood of patriotic Americans, many of whom have served our country in the military as Col. Barfoot has done…” They might try serving it again by dropping this outrageous request.
Barfoot’s story is also quite a contrast with that of our current commander in chief, who, while at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, refused to be photographed with the F-22 that he fought so hard to cancel.

Department of Military Correctness: SEALs Face Courts Martial

As if there weren't already enough evidence that Obama's war "leadership" is insane... On Sept. 3 in Iraq, three of our elite SEALs captured Ahmed Hashim Abed, a high value target whom the military had code-named "Objective Amber."
Abed was responsible for murdering four Blackwater employees in March 2004 and hanging their charred bodies from a bridge over the Euphrates River near Fallujah for the entire world to see. Clearly, Abed was someone the U.S. wanted, and our SEALs expertly and professionally captured him this past September. Time for saluting our heroes and giving them commendations, right?
Fat chance, because somehow Abed got a fat lip, or possibly a punch in the stomach, by one of our SEALs -- or so he says. Standard jihadi operating procedure, after all, is to claim abuse at the first opportunity. And in today's upside-down, PC military, such "extensive abuse" of a prisoner means that our three SEAL heroes will, unbelievably, be facing courts martial for possibly injuring a wanted terrorist while capturing him.
The three heroes, Petty Officers Matthew McCabe, Jonathan Keefe and Julio Huertas, could have chosen an administrative hearing, leaving them with no possibility of jail time or dishonorable discharges, but tarnishing their reputations forever. Instead, like the men they are and knowing they are in the right, they chose a court martial, which could (and should) exonerate them completely, though, if convicted, it could also land them behind bars and end their military careers.
Leaving aside the question of how, or even whether, Abed was hurt, does a sane country prosecute its own soldiers for fighting and capturing the enemy? Why are these young heroes standing trial for bringing an enemy suspect in alive? Where is the outrage?

How Much Longer Before Climategate Explodes?

"You call it 'Climategate,' I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate. ...This is a crime." -Senator Barbara Boxer

Well, Barbara "Call Me Senator" Boxer, at least got the crime part right.

The Lame Stream Media (LSM) are doing their best to ignore Climategate,while they desperately try to come up with some consensus on how to spin it.

Well guess what bozos, you can't spin this one, it's too big. You keep standing in its way, and it'll squash you like a steam-roller going over amarshmallow. This isn't just the biggest story of the 21st century. This is the biggest fraud in world history. Good luck spinning this one away.

As Jonah Goldberg points out in a recent article, the fact that the LSM is covering up Climategate, is a scandal in its own right. The LSM is practicing CYA, by either (like Boxer) building a "strawman" to attack, or trying to dismiss it as something beneath their notice-some inconsequential blip on the radar screen.

The LSM are not covering Climategate because;
(1) they are directly, or indirectly connected to the scandal; like New YorkTimes reporter Andrew Revkin, or
(2) the company that they work for, has huge investments in "green technology" based on the global warming fraud-like the NBC/GE connection, or
(3) they don't want to get "egg on their face," for having so vociferously and doggedly promoted, what has turned out to be a Big Lie, and
(4) they have ideological blinders on-they don't care what the truth is, they only want to push Agenda 21-style programs. It is this last reason that is the most dangerous and troubling.

Agenda 21, as you no doubt know, is the UN's effort to place all of the world under its control (at the behest of a Global Elite). I won't bother to go into its history with The Club of Rome, the Rockefellers, and the UN's Earth Summit in 1992, et al. It's enough to be aware that Agenda 21 is designed to destroy America's middle-class, ruin America's economy, steal America's sovereignty, and abolish America's freedom.

One can only hope that a number of reporters in the LSM, wake up and say,"Hey wait a second, I didn't sign on for THAT." They need to realize that they have been duped, and used as "useful idiots"by Far Left puppet masters. The LSM are moving like a horde of lemmings, in thrall to some herd instinct-humming "Deutschland Uber Alles," as they blindly march-step off a cliff.

By being good little "greenie weenies" they have been cutting their own throats, and America's. In spite of the LSM's silence, Climategate has been rapidly taking on a life of its own. Phil Jones has resigned as the head of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) atthe University of East Anglia. Michael "Hide the Decline" Mann, author of the infamous "hockey stick graph," is under investigation by his employer, Penn State. (Personally, I think Penn State's "Joe Pa" Paterno ought to march over to Mann, and kick his butt-on second thought, Joe should send over one of his Nittany Lions).

Six Important Facts About the Assault Charges Three Navy SEALs Face for Doing Their Jobs

In recent years, I’ve published too many posts about members of the Armed Forces facing undeserved charges:
First, it was the so-called “Haditha Marines” who faced trumped-up charges, thanks largely to idiots like Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) declaring them guilty before a mainstream media eager to paint them in a bad light.
Next, it was Army Ranger 1st Lt. Michael Behenna who was wrongly convicted of executing an Iraqi detainee, Ali Mansur, on May 16, 2008, and is now serving a 25-year sentence at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
Now, I’m following the case of three Navy SEALs facing assault charges related to their capture of Ahmed Hashim Abed.
Who is Abed? He’s the alleged planner of the March 2004 ambush, killing and mutilation of four Blackwater contractors in Fallujah, Iraq. The SEALS gave this enemy combatant piece of dirt a fat lip while apprehending him.
As my first investigative reporting effort related to the SEALs’ case, I offer six important facts about the case you’re likely not to read about in the mainstream media supplied to me by a source whom I cannot name inside the Pentagon:
1) The charges or accusations against the three Navy SEALs were not made from within the SEAL community. Sources tell me they came from someone within the Navy’s Master-at-Arm community.
2) The SEALs were presented with the option of going to Captain’s Mast for these charges but declined this form of non-judicial punishment and opted for court-martial instead. Why? Because they did not want to be judged by those outside of the SEAL community and believed the court-martial route would assure them the representation necessary to prove their innocence.
3) At no time did anyone within the Naval Special Warfare community have any control over these accusations or events other than providing advice or guidance to the accused SEALs.
4) The integrity of the chain of custody of the prisoner is at question.
5) There are extenuating circumstances that indicate there is questionable evidence in some of the accusations made.
6) Evidence will come out in a court-martial that might not have come out in a Captain’s Mast in favor of the accused SEALs.

Democrats trying to criminalize citizen journalism

An amendment to a bill currently being considered by the Senate would deny ordinary citizens doing vital investigations in the public interest the same legal protections as professional journalists. If it were to become law, the change could significantly stifle important citizen journalism efforts similar to the recent ACORN expose.

The Senate is currently considering a new press shield law sponsored by Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa. The bill would "maintain the free flow of information to the public by providing conditions for the federally compelled disclosure of information by certain persons connected with the news media." Except that Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Cal., and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., want to ensure that any new journalistic protections would only apply to professional journalists and not regular citizens. An amendment filed by Durbin and Feinstein would modify the legislation to define journalists thusly:

SEALs deserve their day in court

As former President George W. Bush would say, Ahmed Hasim Abed is an evildoer. He masterminded the killing of four American military contractors and ordered the desecration of their bodies in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004. Abed was considered a high-value target in the war on terror, so when three Navy SEALs brought him to justice, they should have been hailed as heroes.
Instead, they were reprimanded for allegedly injuring Abed. After being turned over to Iraqi authorities, Abed complained of being punched, which caused -- quelle horreur!-- a bloody lip. All three SEALS requested and were granted court marshals in order to clear their names. Those proceedings will convene in January. The SEALs surely believe they acted appropriately because military courts are notoriously strict and severe compared with civilian courts.
The incident with the SEALs highlights an uncomfortable truth about the Obama era: Terrorists operating on foreign soil get more favorable legal treatment than uniformed members of the American military, who risk their lives to protect and defend the Constitution.
This injustice is not lost on the SEALs, who are afraid the Navy won't even grant them due process. "We have terrorists getting their constitutional rights in New York City, but I suspect that they're going to deny these SEALs their right to confrontation in a military courtroom in Virginia," said Neal Puckett, a lawyer who is defending one of the accused.
The Navy's treatment of these SEALs suggests the military has learned nothing from previous hasty attempts at military justice in Iraq. In 2006, an inquest was prompted by a Time magazine article titled "The Shame of Kilo Company." Eight Marines were quickly rounded up and charged with massacring civilians. Time later ran multiple corrections of the story, and the magazine's primary source turned out to be of dubious character. Six of the Marines have since been cleared or acquitted of all charges. Of the remaining two Marines whose charges remain unresolved, one wasn't even present for the alleged crimes, and the other's chief accuser was "not being truthful," according to one Naval Criminal Investigative Service report. The only shame belongs to Time magazine and overzealous military prosecutors.
The Navy has offered no public defense of its arbitrary disciplining of the SEALs based on the word of a murderous terrorist. Was it fear of bad publicity, or simply investigatory or prosecutorial incompetence?
Whatever the explanation, the SEALs deserve their day in court, and the Navy should do whatever is needed to ensure this kind of railroading never occurs again.

A Fact a Day Keeps Senate Health Care Away...
The Washington Post has picked up on something we reported a few weeks ago, which is that most of the provisions in the Senate bill don't take effect until after 2014. "Measured against the promises of President Obama... the [health care] bill the Senate begins debating this week could be setting Americans up for disappointment: Some of the main reforms would not take place for several years, and even when they do... the bill does too little to make sure they would be enforced." There are plenty of reasons why Democrats are delaying the "benefits" of the bill that they have long promised. If they postpone the biggest provisions of the bill, it gives taxpayers a false sense of security about the bill's cost. The longer they delay the most expensive entitlements, the lower the price tag will seem.
On the Senate floor yesterday, Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) finally admitted what we've known all along--that his bill will cost as much as $2.5 trillion. "Health care reform, whether you... start in 2010 or 2014... it is still either $1 trillion or $2.5 trillion, depending on where you start..." Of course, it's no coincidence that President Obama will be facing reelection in 2012, so the potential failures of the bill wouldn't be fully known until two years later. But liberals shouldn't worry too much about raising money for the plan; the major provisions that tax and fine Americans begin as soon as the bill passes.

History has proven that our local Norfolk Police Dept has been very happy with any civil rally, specially when supporting our military. Remember to thank the Police Officers for being there and for the hard work that they do for us as citizens as well. Simply, put a smile on their face. You must provide your own transportation. Several shopping centers have bus lines up and down Hampton Blvd. There is even a large parking lot on Hampton Blvd so car pooling might not be a bad idea, they will likely fill up quickly.

Kaine: Tea parties 'savaging the GOP'

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine said Thursday that the tea party movement is “savaging” the Republican Party and is already proving “corrosive” in key GOP primaries. Speaking at the 11th annual American Democracy Conference hosted by the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics and POLITICO, Kaine argued that while the “headwind” may be against Democrats heading into 2010, divisions within the GOP will prove deadly to the Republican brand. “The tea party movement is savaging the GOP,” he said. “It is something that we expect to see going forward.”

RICHMOND

A 90-year-old Army veteran who won the Medal of Honor during World War II is battling his neighborhood association for what he says is his right to fly the American flag from a pole in his front yard.
Col. Van T. Barfoot says he erected the 21-foot flagpole in September, raising the flag daily at sunrise and retiring it at sunset.
The Sussex Square homeowners’ association told him recently that the free-standing pole violates the townhouse neighborhood’s aesthetic guidelines and ordered him to remove it by 5 p.m. Friday or face a lawsuit.
“I don’t have any qualms with their authority, but the thing about it is that I cannot get enough conversation out of them where we can try to work out a solution,” Barfoot said Wednesday in a telephone interview.
The homeowners’ association said they denied a previous request by Barfoot to erect the flagpole but that he put it up anyway, according to a statement issued by its lawyer Sandy Bowen. The statement says Barfoot can display an American flag, as long as it’s in a way that conforms with association rules.
“This is not about the American flag. This is about a flagpole,” the statement reads. Barfoot, who moved into his townhouse in June, won his medal for actions near Carano, Italy, in 1944 and is one of about 90 surviving Medal of Honor winners. He also won the Purple Heart and other decorations, and served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring from the service in 1974.
“I’ve flown the flag at my home as long as I can remember,” said Barfoot, who lived in rural Amelia County before moving to suburban Richmond. “This is the first time in the last 36 years that I’ve been unable to put my flag up on the same pole, the same staff and take it down when it’s time to come down.”
Neighbors largely have expressed their support, but he realizes that ultimately it’s up to the nine-member association board whether they will grant an exception to the rules.
“Emotional torture is what they’ve done to my father,” said his daughter, Margaret Nicholls. “He has lost sleep; he worries about it constantly. He just doesn’t understand. He thinks that if it’s on his property they can’t tell him what to do.”

The Barfoot family is accepting donations from supporters but wants the money to go to the USO, the military service organization.
"We want the money to go the families of servicemen, not us," said Margaret Nicholls, Col. Van T. Barfoot's daughter.
The homeowners association in his western Henrico County community wants Barfoot, 90, a Medal of Honor recipient, to remove a freestanding flagpole that he erected in his yard, and from which he flies the American flag daily.

Like Obama himself, the Salahis got into the White House without qualification or a background check. Of course, the Salahis merely had to hoodwink three security checkpoint personnel, while the Obamas duped some 33 million voters. (Yes, I know, Obama received 66,882,230 votes, but at least half of those were from people who knew full well they were electing a socialist. The other half, however, were just temporarily mesmerized by Obama's "hope-n-change" mantra.)
Among the most interesting accounts of these charlatans is one from Washington Post columnist Anne Applebaum in an essay entitled, "Social climbing with a twist."
Her column is directed at the Salahis, but one can't escape the irony that it could be just as easily directed at the Obamas.
Applebaum writes, "Social climbing is an ancient art, one as old as society itself. The
character of the high-society impostor -- the fake aristocrat, the soi-disant marquis, the 'professor' with no degree -- has been known in every era, too.
"Over the centuries, some societies have been more susceptible to these sorts of swindles than others," notes Applebaum. "Catherine the Great's Russia, for example, was positively swarming with phony English duchesses and Italian princes." Applebaum continues, "To that notable group of societies we can now add 21st-century Washington. Like 18th-century Russia, it is a world of neophytes, a society whose members have only recently 'made it' into an elite magic circle and who don't necessarily know the other members all that well.
Like 19th-century New York, it is also a world where appearances matter: You get invited to the event ... not just because of who you are but because of what you represent, which costume you wear, which ethnic group you come from."
Or as Obama put it in the opening pages of his political autobiography, "I am new
enough on the national political scene that I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views."
"Above all, says Applebaum, "it is a world that seems to offer wealth and fame to those outsiders who manage to enter it. ... Just like all charlatans and swindlers
over the centuries, they managed [to get into the White House] by looking and acting the part. ... They knew how to behave around the contemporary aristocracy: Simply act as if you belong, don't stare too hard at the celebrities, don't eat or drink too much, and do engage your neighbors in light chit-chat." That is an apt description of the Obamas, who are the epitome of nouveau riche.
"But," writes Applebaum, "there are differences between [them] and, say, Count Alessandro di Cagliostro, a self-described 'Spanish aristocrat' who set himself up as a glamorous 'faith healer' in 1770s St. Petersburg and made his living by borrowing money from gullible courtiers. [They] are hoping to cash in faster -- a lot faster ... and they also have a lot more [mass media] help than did the swindlers of yesteryear."
Yep, that's Barack and Michelle, alright.
