Michael Jackson has died.

Farewell to The Beer Hunter.
The world is a much poorer place. Michael Jackson has died. He passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
In an era when Budweiser was king, and wine snobs ruled, Mr. Jackson revived the comatose American beer industry. His obvious love of beer and whiskey, his desire for them to be treated with the same respect as was shown to wine, and love of sharing the human experience as demonstrated in the art of brewing, shown through all of his work.
With the publication of "The World Guide to Beer" (1977), followed by many other great books on beer and whiskey, Michael Jackson spread the good news that there was good beer to be had. Introducing himself, "My name really is Michael Jackson, but I don't sing and I don't drink Pepsi," he spread the gospel of beer in his British documentary, "The Beer Hunter." His work introduced many (including myself) to good liquor, and the appropriate way in which to think about it. Drinking is not about alcohol. Its about the enjoyment of friends and family.

Let us all raise our glasses to wish him farewell.
